Takes me back. Turning out of Waterloo ambulance station, Bedford CF with Wadham Stringer bodywork, two tone air horns and that brilliant automatic gearbox. I can almost smell the vehicle again now. Good times. Proud? You bet I was.
Hello Sir, let me ask you something, at that time after the Two Tones, which siren model did they use? I know that some old LDV's already had Whelen 295HFSA1, but in between those two, did they use anything else? Thank you very much!
@@cyrussm193 Hi. Dunno I'm afraid. What I do know is at the stations I worked at we used the LDVs with Customline Lazer bodies. Initially the electrics weren't up to the job, and sirens would only operate on wail, not yelp. The problem was solved quite quickly.
The two tones are Fiamm MC4 . Used on ambulances and (24v) Fire engines. The best emergency vehicle sound of all time in my opinion. Fiamm is an Italian company which supplied these :-)
Ha! Roads with room te move out of the way... Not littered with street furniture and cycling lanes. And drivers who are considerate. See that conductor on the bus waving him on.
Keep up the good work on here mate keep up the good work on here mate keep up the good work on here mate keep up the good work on here mate keep up form Greg bouchard

The number of considerate drivers waving them on - how times have changed.
That is Danny Johnson driving. I worked with him at that ambulance station in the 80’s.
2:33 I didn't know Pete Townsend joined the ambulance service...
Bedford with an automatic gearbox...
I remember those types of ambulances
3:05 Trafalgar Square in this video!

70s??
I'd say early to mid 80's judging by some of the number plates, W suffix which was 1980-1981.
@@BEATHROKZ I saw three Y regs. Given the weather it could be August 1982 or more likely summer 1983.
