I grew up listening to Paul Harvey. I never knew his name, I never knew anything about him, except that he was the man on the radio who would tell stories and end with "and now you know, the rest of the story." One day I realized I hadn't heard him on the radio in a long time, and I asked my dad about it. I was very sad to learn he had passed away. He was part of the most formative years of my life, and I'm grateful for it. Rest in peace sir.
I listened to him every day, we sure need a voice like his today...someone who can reflect the common thoughts of all Americans and help us rediscover what we have in common, not all the things that are different about us. WHEN are we going to wake up and realize that the whole idea of America is that we are all immigrants if you go back far enough. We are all from everywhere, that none of us look alike, think alike, or even speak the same first language. But we all love FREEDOM, we all cherish EQUALITY, WE all speak the language of JUSTICE under the law, all our blood is colored RED, all of us belong to the HUMAN RACE, and WE all want a BETTER TOMORROW for our children. THAT is WHY we all left wherever we came from and moved here. WE are not perfect, but we have come a long way from where we started. MOST of the Countries of the WORLD are hoping we fall apart, they are happy to see us hating each other, there are a few that are heartbroken to see the GREAT and powerful dream of AMERICA, and all that it represents, imploding. Don't let them revel in our demise. Get to know your neighbors and let's stand together for what our country is supposed to be, even if we don't always live up to it. Together, we will have a chance; if we focus on our differences, who knows what kind of country we will wake up in tomorrow. I believe in us, I believe in you, I believe in America.

I am grateful to my father for introducing me to such pillars which were a structure to constructive food for thought conversations and pillars more so in the American Republic diaspora. Shoes that can never again be filled but yet shoes that taught us that it is really up to us that shape the world we live in and imbue it's outcome. Thank you for this upload. how true., about the common sense part, that is. i listened to them as well. there might be a shred of somewhat good news out there, seeing that there have been quite a few reactions to paul harvey's segment `if i were the devil'. most of the reaction segments on here that i have seen, have somewhat of an influence on the reactors, even young ones. mostly because they are somewhat surprised as to how the segment can apply to current times.
I was raised listening to Paul on KGGF AM690 out of Coffeyville Ks. I sure miss those simple days. The world could use a sane voice like Paul's in todays twisted and perverted world.
I loved Paul Harvey! I recently found Steve Hartman and he reminded me so much of Mr. Harvey. He’s a story teller and a very good one at that. Look him up if you loved Paul Harvey as I did…..

Paul Harvey was a Conservative Republican, but even if you were a Democrat you could respect him. Can't say that about Rush Limbaugh. Even took a stand against the war and I agree with his view on abortion, I'm against it, but if ever if my daughter wanted one, I'd still love her and support her.

I used to listen to Paul Harvey with my grandfather when I was little. He was one of a kind (both of them)!
