Starr was a giant. You wont see it on stat tables, you had to know & understand the era & the importance of that team... this league was literally built on guys like starr. he was a major foundation piece on wh/ the modern sports of today that you see & enjoy nfl wise was built. he was also a grinder & morally strong man. people can discount people like that as not glamorous, but the truth is they were the glue that made the league such a strong enterprise in that era. the era in wh/ the nfl surpassed mlb as amer's pasttime. never wouldve happened w/o guys like starr.... RIP

All the attention given to the quarterback sneak detracts from the mastery of the entire drive, every single play (except the one that lost 9 yards). The best play was probably the influence play to Mercein on 1st down from the 11, that got the ball to the 3. If Mercein had scored on that play, the drama of "do or die" never would have happened, but the 3rd consecutive championship and the come from behind drive on the ice would still be there.

the ice bowl winning call.... not only took major instincts but stones even bigger. if it went bust, lombardi wouldve gone nuclear.

The play call when Mercin ran to the three yard line on 3rd. & 7 is the smartest play call, I have ever seen. He waited games to call to call the sucker play on Bob Lilly, who is in the Hall of Fame. Because Lilly would follow the guards on the Packer sweep. If you watch The Ice Bowl watch for that play. CALLED BY THE GREATEST QUARTERBACK EVER!

Don't agree with statement that Starr wouldn't be i. HOF without SB wins. SB wasn't as important in 1977 the year Starr eneyered Hall as it is today. Great interview!

agree... he had enough championships to warrant going in. the SB was actually partly past his prime wh/ made it that much more impressive.

#BartStar is before my time by atleast two generations, but he seems like a very underrated legend of the game. Sorry to see him go🙏😔 *#Star**/Lambardi reminds me of Brady/Bellicheck - would "The Hood" have won as many "Ships" w/o Brady??? Would **#Lambardi** have won as many "Ships" w/o **#Star**???*
