My dad had a 69 or 70. You can store a lot of stuff under the flip-up set. They are awesome for ice fishing! My dad had one and they always carried the party supplies on the trail rides. The only problem was with the wide track, it didn't turn very well.
These Scorpions were hot stuff in early 70's when I was into snowmobiling in Minnesota, this one, with the dual carbs and twin expansion chamber exhaust was a rocket, loud as hell too!!!
@1953fords The weak point of the para-rail system was that the rails ran directly on the track and eventually wore grooves in the track weakening to the point of failure at high speed, I've seen it with my own eyes. Also my uncle was a Scorpion dealer.

Best one I had in 1976 was a new Yamaha 440 twin...very FAST!!
Remember the newer 440 Scorpions as a kid. Boy, could they fly.
The best I saw. was a tuned 3 cylinder Rupp. Noice and speed to boot.
The Scorpion slide rail suspension was called, Para-Rail System. It had much better traction than the bogies.
Sorry you’re wrong. Para-Rail suspension was all wheels. The Para-Slide was their slide suspension
