    This is simply the finest looking turntable I have ever seen! Only wish I could afford one!

    Impressive engineering, parts, and construction are clearly on display here. Certainly a turntable well beyond the entry level kit make it a great option for those who want to upgrade this part of their system. Thanks for sharing !

      it's actually based on old Czechoslovak Tesla TT technology. Owner of the EAT company is Jozefína Lichtenegger, slovak woman who married Austrian director of Pro-Ject (producer of TTs which are also based on ex-Tesla TTs).. She decided to save the company that was founded in 1918 in Prague (Tesla Vrsovice - *Vrsovice is Prague district) and which manufactured the tubes.. First she collaborated with Tesla Vrsovice for 2 years, later they offered her to buy the company. EAT turntables (Especially EAT E-Flat) are built on the original design of czech engineer Janda from the early 1970s, who created TT which was manufactured by Tesla for NAD. Jozefína even said her company still use very old machines for the current production (some of them even 70 years old refurbished ones!) because the machines are masterpieces and still working prefectly to produce high quality parts cheaply. EAT produced the tubes (triods and pentods) and turntables.

      Very impressive line of turntables that she played a big part in their development.

    TPE is really more of a description of the properties of a material than a name. Thermoplastic means it doesn't change its molecular structure when heated and cooled repeatedly and elastomer is just a fancy name for something rubbery.... you know... like rubber. It's just rubber feet. Nothing fancy here folks.

    Beyond selectable speeds, does it have adjustable speed control?

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not. It is normally direct drive turntables that offer speed adjustment. Thanks for watching

    That's a beautiful turntable! Although, for $3,500 I would probably just save a bit more and get a VPI Prime. But you can't go wrong with either choice.

    • @AudioAdvice

      Fair enough! We love the Prime too. Have you seen the Prime Scout?

    • @Diatonic5th

      The Prime Scout is an excellent deal for the money. I almost bought one last month, but due to money constraints I changed my mind and bought the MoFi UltraDeck instead. The UltraDeck is easily the best turntable I've ever owned! You may want to consider adding a few to your inventory.

    The repetitive, repeating background music 'loop' is both annoying and totally unnecessary !

    I prefer a Crosley.
