Naah, not necessary. I know many students/ friends who learned competitive programming after coming to the college and they got placed in good companies.

are the packages for both DS and SDE same?
Yes it is same for both. If you have work experience of >= 2 yrs in the same role as you are joining in, then your compensation might increase a bit. Company will inform about the same during joining.

@@sanjubitaborah4717 mostly the consulting companies prefer BTechs. But Tower Research did recruit a Mtech CSE student last to last year.
@@urmisaha3839 Ma'am do non-CSE Btech students(non-circuital branch) who pursue Mtech CSE in top IITs by cracking GATE CSE ,face discrimination by the companies? or are they considered equivalent to their Mtech CSE friends who did their Btech in CSE? & did u encounter any such student during your master's at IIT B?
@@rahulsett1642 there's no such discrimination. But yes, it depends on the company and their criteria of recruitment. Sometimes some companies look for students who had done their BTech in particular branches or from particular colleges, but such companies are very very less in number, and so there's no need to worry much about that. :)

I knew a little bit. But that was a very high level view of a few topics which I knew during B.Tech. Mostly I started afresh from fundamentals during my Masters.
