Dan and Mick, loved the episode. This is so much fun. We’ve been doing something similar to this over on the Palen Music channel and it’s been so inspiring to find new tones. If you want an extra level of difficulty I have my daughter pick three random pedals from the whole collection and she sets the pedal order for the board. It makes for a tough challenge when she goes reverb fuzz chorus but it’s led to some amazingly fun sounds.

If we're doing challenges, how about you each make a covers gig Boss board (I'm not sure this works with any other brand), but you both lose any duplicates - shafting your opponent (say by including every pedal ever) is encouraged.

Fun show guys! I love this format of just trying random pedals because it's interesting to see you guys discovering something new. I also think we can all relate to ordering a pedal online, opening it up for the first time, and trying to figure out how the dang thing works- so in a way it's fun to watch you guys puzzle through this stage as well. As a long time fan of TPS, Mick and Dan, I am very sad that I can't watch the show anymore. Last week, I woke up with SSNHL in my left ear (sudden hearing loss). It is being treated, but the prognosis is unclear. I can't play guitar anymore because I can't stand sound at this moment.
I hope to recover and enjoy the show again in the near future. For now, I will miss you guys. 😢

As always, watching you guys play inspires me to play. Stunning playing and some very interesting voicings.
I would like to make a suggestion. It's great that we got to see you changing the settings on the pedal. But I would love it if you could split the screen so we can see the pedals being dialed in, but also see you playing.
I love the sounds and chords you play but would love to see what you are playing.
Since watching your interview with Noel Gallagher, I have picked up the guitar every day since.
    Thanks for that. 👍

This makes me think of a new challenge.... Both contestants build 2 boards (approximately $1000/lbs). Board 1 is a few high-end pedals, board 2 is a commoners board with multiple gains, modulation, delay, verb etc. (Use the best quality u can afford in a fully functioning gigable board).... then see which approach makes the most sense. I.e. Quality vs. Quantity.

The UA Max is a truly magic pedal, particularly with single coil git-fiddles (nudge, nudge - TELE!!!)! The flexibility of the 1176 and LA2A pickups PLUS the classic 610 tube preamp, it is my absolute favorite addition of 2023. Pushing the 610 preamp gives you a glorious grit, especially into the 1176. I keep the LA2A side for clean and warm playing. Spend some time with it, Dan - It will make you and Butters smile!!!

That fuzz is the business....nice playing as always gents, lived the Wicked Game quote, never thought id like to hear that lick played on anything but a Strat, but the Bigsby does a smoother jobbie on the rising pitch than a Fender Strat vintage trem (especially a decked one!)...noyce. Also please dont forget to call "safe" at end of over before leaving your crease, as most Aussie kids learn playing backyard cricket but the English seem to have missed at professional level :)

Ah man, I was really hoping one of you would get the Foxcatcher - it has the Gravity Bomb in it from the boost show a couple of weeks back - which had me absolutely rolling with laughter when you said "You know, I think this would do really well if it had an overdrive before it" because the other part of the pedal is a Bluesbreaker-type circuit!!! I just really want to hear one played by you guys, because it's one of those things where I'm a bit hesitant on it because I've not heard it played by someone I really trust their opinion as of yet. The Andertons guys have played it but didn't ask all the questions of the pedal I'd have liked them to have asked.
However, absolutely great episode - absolutely delighted to see Dan's Gretsch coming out, and I laughed, because when Mick had just played the K-style part of the Nordvang after the fuzz, I went "Yeah, I want a bit more brightness taking out of that" - and about 5 seconds later, Mick said the exact same thing! Gave me a very good giggle! If you are going to do this again, Mick, please pull out the Collings Junior! I have to say, the UA stuff was cool, but it did make me think, would I really buy both of those pedals when I could just buy a RE-202, get a reverb I like from that and get a multihead delay (which I could have just a single head on) and it would cost me half of buying both of the UA pedals... some may argue you'd only need the Del-verb but then there's no multihead function...! But maybe that says more about where I am than the pedals themselves - because they did sound good. The reverbs in the Del-Verb especially! Once again, no answers in my comment, only better questions...
