Absolutely, expressed perfectly and simply. Took me 50 years to learn this. We do not see things as they really are,………. we see them as we are. As Dr Gabor Mate says (an international expert on trauma) “If we are triggered by something or someone it is actually a gift because it is wonderful moment to investigate where it comes from within ourselves and begin to heal/resolve it”.
yes, but most people, especially young ones my age are refusing to do that work on the inside because they are ashamed and too much in their heads thinking about what others think about them.
@@peacepuffz Agree, it's not easy... BUT with constant practice it gradually gets better and better. It is helpful to remember that "Hurt people, hurt people" and also that we can be guilty of it ourselves.

I’m about to turn 50 and this hit hard. I always looked for things and people to fill me up thinking that was okay and normal. I’m separated from my spouse of 25 years now. When he said how is marriage working out for you, it felt like he was talking directly to me. Now I’m doing the hard work on myself and filling myself up. I don’t know if I’ll ever be in a long term relationship again and that’s okay. For anyone young reading this, make sure you maintain your relationships with family and friends, you’ll definitely need it as you get older but never look to a spouse for life long fulfillment, there’s no guarantee there for a many number of reasons.
@@donovanjones4175 Yes, my point was don’t put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to relationships with other people. Relationships can break apart for various reasons, including illnesses that lead to death or fatal accidents. It’s important to be your own rock in life for these reasons.
So when a child is physically psychologically and or sexually abused its a reflection of their own mind? When a Ukraine family has to flee their home because Russia invaded, this is the reflection of their own psyche? What BS!
@theresanolan1157 yes exactly and plenty of other examples prove that the victim is not inviting violence, war or abuse with their mind. It's just a lot of wacky nonsense!
I had a powerful awakening recently. I have never been a spiritual person but I have been struggling to care for my chronically ill patients wife while dealing with all my own shit. I came to resent my life but I would never leave my wife. I found happiness in surrender and acceptance. The most important thing you can do with your life is find happiness, be light that you want to see in others.

I’m retired. Your story of a conservative savings profile is a common one. Any course of action involves risks. You might be avoiding market risk, but you are taking on other risks like inflation and reinvestment risk.
My wife is willing to work for another 5 years if needed. Are we in good shape? Will we be okay if I begin withdrawing from Social Security when I’m 62 and my wife is 67? Should we hire a financial planner to help us navigate this?
Certainly get a pro to look at your predicament (if you even have one, lol) A second opinion from a comprehensive financial adviser can help you look at more than just your current estimate of cash flow and needs but also longevity risk, outliving your money, tax considerations, legacy planning, healthcare costs, inflation and a myriad of other things you may not be considering when reviewing your current situation
Blaming it all on the individual shouldn't be an excuse to perpetuate an existing evil system that causes unnecessary harm and trauma on majority of individuals.
