The design is stupid. The sail plan should have been lower and split into a ketch or schooner rig. The design was an accident waiting to happen.

Er yeah but what about the angle of vanishing stability, flooding angle, too much weight up high etc etc.
A telescopic mast that could be raised and lowered by hydraulics.
