Ally never really said goodbye to Billy,even after he died.She kept bringing him back as a ghost whenever she felt sad or depressed.One of the reasons Ally McBeal was so popular with the fans was because of the mini-concerts by the musical guest stars that creator/writer David E. Kelley wrote into the scripts.You will never see a TV series like Ally McBeal ever again.
So the show Cop Rock comes to mind. It wasn't a hit but the legal version of the idea - tv dramedy musical - seemed to work with Ally McBeal, a show I'm only now seeing in TH-cam snippets for the first time ever.
I have just re-watched Ally Mcbeal. What a funny series. Laugh out loud good. When you put it alongside today's shows with their gloomy stories, bad writing and mediocre acting it shines like a beacon.
Lucy Liu: I am ejected before to Die. Then I was saved by rod Then I became Good me. Then I sayy i want To payback to him. Then i see Gemma and i Did cry, to My effort i Saved her just for my guardian holy human soul [Lucy Liu: I'm a big fan of rod] friend.
As dramatic as this scene was, they ultimately bungled it. I mean, come on, Billy had just gone through the same thing. He hallucinated in court, he passed out, and he died because in his case it was from a tumor. But then they have Ally hallucinate, pass out, and get taken away in a stretcher, and it's just because she was tired and depressed? I really didn't like the way they handled this episode.
Loved Ally as a "safe" women's rights icon. I stopped watching AM when they stopped it being about her and made it about the males (already overly represented in life!). Especially hated Downey Jr. Just go away...you don't belong here, at all.
If there was a Grammy award for the best Tv-Show of the Millennium !! The creators of this show should be award that Grammy !!!
