- In this video i replace the tandem pump seals on my 2002 VW BORA 1.9TDI PD130 ASZ car, this is to rectify a external diesel leak. Hope this video is helpful
Thanks for doing this video Cally. I replaced the cam on my engine a few months ago and didn't replace the gasket, so now have to go back and tidy that up. I know which gasket set to get. Cheers.

lots of great information here about the multiple versions of the pump. I am having problems with my brakes lacking vacuum. No leaks in the vacuum system between pump and booster, hoping the pump could be the culprit.
Good luck, yeah few years ago before this leak the vacuum pipe to the back of the tandem pump had a split in it, my brake pedal was very hard, no power assist whatsoever, replacing the pipe solved it
Autodoc supply different makes/quality. Mines stinking of diesel and I'm right down Cornwall on holidays Hope it doesn't blow suddenly. Good video from fellow biker and vw owner. Thank you.

Got the same Bora, colour as well.
The plug on that fuel like is a fuel temperature sensor. Mine is leaking too, hopefully building courage to do it myself.
If you have the no start issue because of diesel, there is a short video here somwhere, explaining to cover the exhaust one or two cranks the unpulg the exhaust and ur diesel engine should start, hope it works to get yall running and how or to a shop. It worked for me it help bleeding out the air or something

Mines leaking oil all down the block and to the head gasket, can this give you a faulty reading when doing a HG tester on the coolant expansion tank?
@ben-vz3yk I would not of thought so the tandem pump is for pumping fuel and creating vacuum nothing to do with cooling system

It did not for me but I could imagine if thr leak was really bad it would be flags by the fuel pressure sensor
Does the fuel level indicator drop to zero even though there is fuel in the tank, because of air bubbles in the line or damaged seals?
Personally no I have not had that happen to me. The fuel level is usually a float indicator in the tank, so I don't see how air in the lines could cause this.

@TXS_SLG hi there yes it did for awhile but then it developed another leak so I just replaced the whole unit
@@callytech.d2r813 Mine seems to be leaking a clear greasy material onto the top of the box, presuming its disel
I have same problem with my polo tdi.Diesel leaks in first start from tandem vacuum pump then it stops .My question is it dangerous to drive like that?
@gokhandemir44 I suggest you get it fixed ASAP but if the car runs OK it can't be a significant leak.

It was leaking diesel
Mines leaking oil so would it be the same thing 🤔
If it's coming from the same area it could be, might aswell give it a go seals are cheap and it's not hard
@@callytech.d2r813 I’ve ordered the pressed metal plate as mine is AXB engine (T5) so not sure until I take it of if it’s got seals

Yes for sure it is needed to help get fuel to the Injectors

@@callytech.d2r813 well i have the car now for 7 months.it drove fine and started every morning i had to replace 1 glowplug .
I Am a car mechanic but never we touch a 1.9tdi 98% we work on gasoline cars so you know😆
I was driving and all of the sudden it just went in limpmode or so? Beqause the car felt shocking and it didnt wantted to run so it died with a blinking glowplug light😕
I deleted everything treu obd and it had power again WITH the blinking glowpluglight! BUT after a few Miles it died again and it didnt wanted to start again. Tried the next day Leaving to work Beqause 1 car and it didnt go far till it died again and then it was barely starting, en then NO START anymore… there were no crazy engine sounds oh and the dieselpump in the tank sometime when yiu turn the key you heare it slurping and not its 50/50 with slurping also no start i dont knoe it anymore relay 109 clicks glowplug tested all good. I did the mass from the dynamo to under the battery and go on i hope you can help me
