It takes time to bounce back. One of my good friends fell asleep while driving and drove right into a giant 10 ton boulder in his truck. Was in a similar coma. For the first 6 months or so out of the camera he could barely talk and had a blank stare. Now about 5 years later you couldnt even tell he got in a wreck besides for a slight limp.
He probably struggles with his speech at the moment, but going by how quick the other aspects of his recovery has been, i imagine his speech will return in time once his brain starts to re-learn, reconnect and reroute. It's amazing that he's up and walking considering the horrific accident he had, just reading about it makes you wonder how he survived that let alone be up and walking, pretty amazing recovery so far.
I love Matt and I love nurses. Genuine, caring nurses who don't forget why they became nurses. They were put in Matt's life by our loving heavenly father. If anyone gonna survive a train wreck....it's Matt. Keep healing up brother

I remember back in the day (15 years ago) when the UFC was loaded with great guys like Matt. Rich Franklin, Pat Miletich, Mike Swick, Forrest Griffin, among some others. No ego guys who would do anything for anyone. Now? Not so much.
