Had the pleasure of accompanying my son, Ryan when he picked up his new Peterbilt. Enjoyed the interaction with Steve. Steve is extremely knowledgeable with all facets relating to trucking, transportation, and racing. It made the trip to Tulsa more enjoyable than a vacation to Disney World. We also met the associates in the install shop, parts department, administrators, and other salesmen. Everyone was so nice. Thanks again for the great coffee, my new Peterbilt hat, floor mats and the shop tour. The trip home was my first time in an “18 wheeler” and brought back memories of flying B-52s and FB-111s. I have a new appreciation of the professionals in this industry.
One of the best details on all of your trucks- all frame bolts pointed in. As a guy who hand washes the frame rails, I can really appreciate that. 👍🏻 Plus it looks top notch.
While the 567’s sure aren’t my favorite, it turned out pretty damn nice. The little touches you and the guys do sure makes them stand apart from the rest. Well done Steve!
If Peterbilt does what Kenworth has done with the W990 and use this cab and sleeper and add a long hood like the 389, that would look sweet! Of course if they were to do that, the 389 guys would probably throw a fit like the W900 guys did about the W990. I've heard that it's in the works so I'm not sure if it'll happen.
Awesome video!! I have a question about the split tank. I run dump trailers so it's a potential thing for me but I have never had one. What is the consensus on no support strap where the tank is welded? I would feel like that is a weak spot for weld failure in the future causing a mixture of fluids and/or leakage outside? Thank You
Great Question I wonder that too. But looks a very lot better than blame square tank looking like its homemade right in the way of everything. Breather next to pretty chrome wonder that be a issue at times over keeping it clean.
I hope it’s not a low leaf suspention like mine as the engineering depart told me that the vibration is due to that and if gives you a smother ride !! Good luck
Are you saying that Peterbilts engineering department told you that low air leaf suspension (their #1 selling suspension) has caused a vibration in your 567? It is a know fact industry wide that the Dana SP250 Lite drivelines have had major issues the last 2 years.
Hey Steve, GREAT LOOKING PETE 567!! But, can you get the 567 in GLIDER KIT& double bunk?? I already have 2003 PRE-EMISSION CAT/C-18& EATON/FULLER 22918B TRANSMISSION to install!! I like the interior layout of the 567!!💯🇺🇸👍😎💰
what a beautiful truck i'm a company guy drive 579 cummings isx i prefer it over freightliners internationals most volvos just rides nicer more comfort they do seem hard to regen light barely goes on if u dont u r going down all kinda codes . if i ever get my own it be 567 or 579 13 speed
I'm one of the few "sales guys" that can weld, fab, and assemble. Fact, I didn't turn a wrench on this one but it was my plan. I'm all for a challenge if you want to go for a skills test.
StevieDee right, if offered the choice, but I’m sure the fuel economy is noticeably better, plus you can actually see a pedestrian. Customized properly this truck would be ok. Also depends on the application
Looks aren't everything in trucking for some people. The wide-cab configuration that Paccar offers is superior in some ways to the traditional narrow cab on the 389. Also, the interior of the 389 hasn't been updated since 2005, while the wide cab in the Platinum trim has a much more premium feel (and the Heritage even more). Then there's the wheelbase of the 389 impacting the types of trailers you can pull in certain regions (Canada and California specifically), where the shorter hood on the 567 gives you better visibility without impacting tractor length as much. You can also order a 567 in a SBFA configuration, which allows for better weight distribution for bulk or heavy haul applications. I've been seeing more and more 567's on the road these days (more than 389's in a lot of heavy haul applications as well), and while the 389 remains the Peterbilt flagship, the 567 is becoming significantly more popular than when it first came out.
465/500 was enough when it had free flowing exhaust. Now, exhaust is clogged from the factory... where is the studio sleeper option - why I do not see anybody spec’ing Pete’s with studio sleepers. - they are available don’t you know... ;)
Truck really is set-up pretty nice all the way around. Hope have good service out of it. But I be reaching for trailer brake & can't find it for 1st about 6 months. Not crazy about 567 or color but might grow into it, Just over such of a nice set-up it got. I like Black but every bird in USA just has to fly over & leave there used waste right on ever black TK made in USA each & every day. LOL . I Hate Black now. LOL.
My only complaint about Peterbuilt is those headlights. They are ugly. Single rounds are best. And dual full doors on sleeper should be standard. But a beautiful truck anyway.
Anything more than 450/1650 is pretty much a waste for anyone looking to run 80k gross or less in the US. 500/1850+ is just a hot rod that'll run heavy weights up steep grades and not drop gears. Personally, if I were looking to make the most amount of money out of a truck at 80k gross, I would run 450/1650 with a 3.73 rear end and 18-speed transmission. Cruise at 65 to save on tires and avoid wind resistance killing fuel economy.
@@SteveCarbone it'll only kill fuel economy if you drive faster than 65mph. On the Canadian side of the border, most trucks are 3.70/3.90 due to heavier gross weights (100k for tridem, 140k for Super-B) and lower speed limits. Most of the prairies is 68 max, Ontario is 65 max. A small part of British Columbia is the only place you'll see a 75 mph speed limit (120 kph). And really, unless you're looking to spend a lot more on tires, there's no need to run much faster than 70 mph.
You are still in the 80's and 90's with today's engines you can run @ 1050 rpm all day long my is a Canadian truck with a 12 speed Eaton endurance with 2:79 ratio no problem to get over 8 mpg U.S. gal. and that running Toronto- L.A. every week
@@SteveCarbone Because freight rates are at an all time low, trade is awful, past year alone 8-9 trucking companies went bankrupt. Unless someone has dedicated work or cash sitting around, I woud not even think of getting a truck. Yes this Pete and new trucks are better and beautiful, i just think it's not a good time for a trucker to buy one truck right now. Just my opinion.

That color looks gorgeous on that rig. Great job as always Steve.
Another beautifully setup truck. I gotta say the 567 is by far my favorite series truck on the road. Hopefully in 22 I'll have one.
I really really like the looks of the 567 Pete a lot.
That paint color is almost identical to the factory Mineral Gray on my old mustang. Such a neat color, goes from greyish to green to silver sometimes.
Its beautiful. Lovin’ the color too. 👍🏼
That is a really sharp color and the interior of the sleeper is laid out nice.
He did a good job
Really cool 😎 looking truck. The 40 gal hyd tank is awesome

nothing is better than the good ol 389.
I LIKE it! Though I would have done it in Legendary Blue.
