I used a tiny bit of air when I did mine with zip ties before installing. I don’t think it really helped anything too much honestly. I don’t have spoons and needed a bit of help so I carefully used a butter knife. Went on like butter. … the older I get the worse my jokes are I swear.
You should post the zip tie link :) Reusable zip ties are a good idea though.
I use bead cream and tire levers, and I've yet to pop a tube.
I also "taco" the tube so it sits deeper in the tire. Seems to work for me.
