Yeah I saw the pics of the dry roads leading up to the church on FB. I knew then JO was not a church I wanted to visit. However, I did learn a couple weeks ago (currently 7/7/2024) wanted to visit JO's church. I found all kinds of videos on YT exposing him and his left-wing, radical, evil agenda. i think joel has a gift to say encouraging things while sounding simplistic, inspirational and you just feel good aftewards. I kinda understand why he's good as a preacher. I think he's a great starting point for beginners

Joel may not be theology trained but a lot of pastors aren't. I'm glad that you included that he is not begging for money and hasn't taken a salary from the church in almost 20 years. It says that he is trying to be of service. Nobody's perfect and at least he is drawing people to Christ.

He speaks of a God that does not seek to punish you but to guide you. Some folks need that kind of preaching too. Folks already know what they are doing wrong. Folks know that they will suffer their sins but need to know that there is a loving God that sent His Son to save you not only in the after life but also this life. Like I said, I have been blessed by his ministry. Fire and brimstone preaching doesn’t deter folks from sin but the love of God will cause them to want them to do the right thing like any other relationship where there is love; not fear alone. He is not only a disciplinarian but an awesome parent. If your parents were only disciplinarians their children will rebel and run from them never feeling they will measure up. All have fallen short of the glory of God, but, the blood of Jesus with a repentant spirit erases those blemishes from your record. David cheated and killed and, although, he suffered the loss of his offspring with Bathsheba as punishment, he remained the apple of God’s eye.
Where are you guys hearing all feel good? When I listen to him I hear him preaching about patience and keeping the right attitude, being disciplined and being obedient to God. It’s how I learned to hold a high integrity which is a very difficult thing to do when faced with temptations. His msges are very deep but he delivers it so gently you think he’s petting you. I used to audit their financials and Lakewood was one of my best clients. I never saw anything that was inconsistent with their message. They do help A LOT of people all over the world. When I was there, I could here their folks on the phone asking to pray for people. Not everyone's "ministry" is quoting Bible verses.
I was raised Muslim and even I noticed when I first saw his TV sermons: umm, where are the Bible verses? What authority is he citing? This man just wants to tell feel good stories and take your money.
I am myslim to , these prechers live like kings, what about there poor people that have no homes and food, thinking that giving there money is a blessing.

I listen to a mix of helpful morning prayers and he’s on a lot of them…it helps me… I had a rough 2021.. losing my mother in law, then my dad after…to whom I haven’t spoken to in 10 plus years since my mom passed… I had to get therapy to deal with all the weight of being in the middle of my parents fights, blaming my dad for my mom’s passing, etc… it was too much… more prayers and listening to some morning prayers to help with how I’m feeling helps… at least for me… what ever role Joel plays,.. either way it helps ease my stress for the day… I can’t be mad at that.
I was through with him when he wouldn’t let those that needed shelter in his church during hurricane Harvey. Then he came here to San Francisco, CA and had a prosperity gospel function at AT&T Park and thought people forgot about the hurricane thing. He act like he related to Tony Robbins with all that talking and smiling while telling you all the things you already know what you should be doing to begin with while giving him all your money. The gospel of Christ is free and nobody should be paying for it or emotional prosperity preaching advice. RRG: These mega churches are messy period! Please do Paula White next. Years ago while on bed rest for a chronic autoimmune condition and flipping through channels, I came across Joel Osteen. His sermons were easy to understand and opened up Christian television for me. I watched different ministers for months and was introduced to faith healings. I would go on to become deeply immersed in God’s Word and my faith walk attending conferences and receiving Faith healings-2 at TD Jakes conferences. Today I study my Word daily through reading, sermons and Bible Studies. These televangelists ministers are a blessing to so many who for whatever reason are not at the church building. They are called to the ministry of the sick and shut in, the backslider, and the unchurched. Just because people can’t see beyond their own carnal judgement does not invalidate these ministries. I don’t watch Joel Osteen as often as I used to when I was a “Baby Christian” but I am grateful for his role in opening the door.🙏🏾❤

Honestly, anytime I'm going through something I pray. The following day Joel always would say the right words relating to my situation. If God has answered my prayer then through Joel's sermon, Joel must be doing something right.

I am very sorry that his congregation when through a shooting massacre. Mr.Osteen from what I have seen he acts and talks like a motivational speaker. I do not know what people see in him, but he does not talk about the death, the burial, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. God gave us free will and when we abuse it, God will punish us in his own time. There is so many times God can give us Grace and Mercy, but if we keep asking forgiveness for the same sin that we continue to commit day after day, one day you or I might suffer the consequences from God one day. @@ReigningWomban, God is a feel good God also. He doesn’t speak against repentance. He speaks about a loving, awesome God who wants to bless you. He speaks of a God that has open arms to receive you. He speaks of a God that does not seek to punish you but to guide you. Some folks need that kind of preaching too. Folks already know what they are doing wrong. Folks know that they will suffer their sins but need to know that there is a loving God that sent His Son to save you not only in the after life but also this life. Like I said, I have been blessed by his ministry. Fire and brimstone preaching doesn’t deter folks from sin but the love of God will cause them to want them to do the right thing like any other relationship where there is love; not fear alone. He is not only a disciplinarian but an awesome parent. If your parents were only disciplinarians their children will rebel and run from them never feeling they will measure up. All have fallen short of the glory of God, but, the blood of Jesus with a repentant spirit erases those blemishes from your record. David cheated and killed and, although, he suffered the loss of his offspring with Bathsheba as punishment, he remained the apple of God’s eye.
Where are you guys hearing all feel good? When I listen to him I hear him preaching about patience and keeping the right attitude, being disciplined and being obedient to God. It’s how I learned to hold a high integrity which is a very difficult thing to do when faced with temptations. His msges are very deep but he delivers it so gently you think he’s petting you. I used to audit their financials and Lakewood was one of my best clients. I never saw anything that was inconsistent with their message. They do help A LOT of people all over the world. When I was there, I could here their folks on the phone asking to pray for people. Not everyone's "ministry" is quoting Bible verses.

I listen to a mix of helpful morning prayers and he’s on a lot of them…it helps me… I had a rough 2021.. losing my mother in law, then my dad after…to whom I haven’t spoken to in 10 plus years since my mom passed… I had to get therapy to deal with all the weight of being in the middle of my parents fights, blaming my dad for my mom’s passing, etc… it was too much… more prayers and listening to some morning prayers to help with how I’m feeling helps… at least for me… what ever role Joel plays,.. either way it helps ease my stress for the day… I can’t be mad at that.
I was through with him when he wouldn’t let those that needed shelter in his church during hurricane Harvey. Then he came here to San Francisco, CA and had a prosperity gospel function at AT&T Park and thought people forgot about the hurricane thing. He act like he related to Tony Robbins with all that talking and smiling while telling you all the things you already know what you should be doing to begin with while giving him all your money. The gospel of Christ is free and nobody should be paying for it or emotional prosperity preaching advice.

Years ago while on bed rest for a chronic autoimmune condition and flipping through channels, I came across Joel Osteen. His sermons were easy to understand and opened up Christian television for me. I watched different ministers for months and was introduced to faith healings. I would go on to become deeply immersed in God’s Word and my faith walk attending conferences and receiving Faith healings-2 at TD Jakes conferences. Today I study my Word daily through reading, sermons and Bible Studies.
These televangelists ministers are a blessing to so many who for whatever reason are not at the church building. They are called to the ministry of the sick and shut in, the backslider, and the unchurched. Just because people can’t see beyond their own carnal judgement does not invalidate these ministries. I don’t watch Joel Osteen as often as I used to when I was a “Baby Christian” but I am grateful for his role in opening the door.🙏🏾❤

I am very sorry that his congregation when through a shooting massacre. Mr.Osteen from what I have seen he acts and talks like a motivational speaker. I do not know what people see in him, but he does not talk about the death, the burial, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. God gave us free will and when we abuse it, God will punish us in his own time. There is so many times God can give us Grace and Mercy, but if we keep asking forgiveness for the same sin that we continue to commit day after day, one day you or I might suffer the consequences from God one day. I love Jesus and God and I know if I do not do what is right by the both of them, there is a greater chance my soul might not be with the both of them when it is my time to go. God Bless - Jason.
