Thank you for keeping this really straightforward. I've been wanting to annotate my favorite books and possibly some first-time reads, but every video I've seen loses me in the first couple minutes. They either say to just write whatever you want or show off all the boxes of stationery supplies they have and it doesn't really help me personally.
Sentence structure and stylistic devices are really important. In folk tales and epics (critical editions of these texts in particular), I have noticed shifts and evolutions/devolutions in the way passages are constructed and noting these changes can give so much more information, context, clarity and enjoyment in the reading.
thank you so much for the tips! I wouldn't have though about writing down the date. It is obvious that I will have different feelings about a book that I read, for example, when I was18 years old and when I will be 25
I've been trying to wrap my head around annotating for a while, I've watched many videos. I appreciate that you avoid going deep into all of the choices of pens, post-its, tabs, and just get into the how and why of annotating. Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment ☺️ My intention was to be as concise as possible so I am really glad that you appreciated that bit!
Great ideas for what to ask ourselves when annotating. No one else talks about this as well as you do! Do you have a vid for what to think about when annotating nonfiction?
Thank you so much for the kind comment 🥺 I do have a video on annotating nonfiction books: How to Annotate Non Fiction Books 📖 th-cam.com/video/ZrRGgzo7Amk/w-d-xo.html I hope that you find it somewhat helpful! Have a wonderful dayyyy 💕
lovely video! i'm a new reader, so this might be a silly question, but what do you usually use page markers for? and do you color code them for a reason? many thanks
Thank you so much for the nice comment and for taking the time to write a comment ☺️ I actually recently made a video on that very topic! I hope that you find it somewhat helpful! How to annotate books WITHOUT writing directly on them ☕️ th-cam.com/video/PCP5oF-Nc7I/w-d-xo.html Have a lovely day!
