You're probably right about him having a 10, but I would've called. I've seen several occasions where people throw out a "frustration" bet after their hand was counterfeited/downgraded, and OMCs are no exception. Remember there were several draws out there as well that missed (diamonds, hearts, straight) so he could be putting you on one of those draws, or even a single nine. So he may have been thinking his 3 was good. You'll never know at this point, but whenever there's a good reason to believe the opponent may not have the nuts, I always call.

I think he made the right call. Most older players are very tight players. He hit the 10(Id like to say hand was A10s), was afraid someone has set of 3s or a flush draw and checked it. Once he saw that no one raised and the river was a under to his 10 top kicker and not a heart he felt confident to place about 1/3 pot size bet. Just in case the diamond draw made it. Then placing a small bet hoping that someone did have a 3 and would raise them. All at the same time making at least something off a call with such a strong hand. Sadly we'll never know.

On that pocket 99s! I would have raised turn because he lead into two players behind him. I would have 3bet the pot. If he has a 3, he’ll continue. If he doesn’t, he might even call you with a 10 or Fl draw. But if he were to continue and assessing the individual as being an elder gentleman and is there to have a good time, he’ll most likely only call with a 3. If he elected to fold on your 3bets, at least you’ll stack up chips. Sometimes it’s best to just play it straight forward.

That AA hand was pretty weird. Don't know why you're checking the turn there but now the river is just a clear call. And on that 99 hand, yeah, he could easily have a 10 there but there are also a lot of missed draws. At 3:1, I'm probably making a crying call.

    • @Ihave10billionsubs
      @Ihave10billionsubs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

He likely wouldn't bet missed draws on that board. He probably did have a 10, but having a 3 is also reasonable (ace/3 suited for example), and he could be putting Ethan on some missed draws or even a 9, or just betting out of frustration that his 3 got downgraded. Either way, I definitely would have made a crying call as well.

Sorry Ethan, but You’re doing it all wrong! 12 years playing tourneys- you CANNOT treat it like cash!!! (No rebuys many times!).
    1. 10’s hand- wrong play! The guy could’ve easily had ace high, another pair, or even thought he was trapping the flop with a 3. 4-1 for 1/7 of your chips, and NOW you fold??? I just don’t get it!
    2. Get re-raised pre, and decide to ‘ship it’ with jacks both times? Nope! Most tourney players are not “excited” to get it all in pre if they don’t have a hand better than jacks, so next time JUST CALL!!! If and ace or king doesn’t peel on the flop, and the aggressor slows down, maybe you can steal the pot, or at least live! Unfortunately, your aggressive cash play is really killing your tourney chances here. Having said that, if this aggression is towards the end of a tourney, it’s much more warranted, and much more apt to get through, when there are no rebuys, and people are not looking to lose/kill their stack on flips.
You’re a good player, Ethan, but have much patience to learn for tourneys! Good Luck, my friend!

Rampage, listen to me. I've been playing poker for over 20 years and even made a $1,500 WSOP final table. Calling with your 9's is the right decision in that spot and I'll tell you why. #1, greed. People that have a 10 in that spot usually make it more because they're just that greedy. Second, that bet amount (about 1/3) usually means they have a 3 or some pocket pair in that spot and it's almost more of a blocker bet amount just incase YOU have the 10 or an overpair. Just take my word on this, I've seen a hand like this many many times. Someone having a 10 in that spot I'd say is usually the case in less than 20 or 30 percent of the time. This isn't to mention it wasn't a huge huge portion of your stack and that's yet another reason to call. Please let me know if all that makes sense. Thanks.

He might have a ten... busted flush draw or just a 3 and he bets for value because he's never putting you on pocket nines either way I do believe it's a decent fold because it's a tournament...
Both check the flop... a cbet would've been good... then the bet on the turn not directly repping a ten but anything... then the bet on the river could've been because you checked the flop... it's a complicated one
You could've done either without criticism from me...
A dozen different combinations that have a ten... I doubt he'll do it with ace high... maybe jacks or some otherpocket pair... it's important to have a read on them before playing hands against them...
It's not the cards... it's the man with the cards
Sadly nobody has ever gotten rich from cash games... the only way to book a huge win and relax for life is to hit a big win in a tournament

That will are you play almost any pocket pair for pre flip all in which is not a strategical poker but a mere gamble. If you keep playing in that manner you will almost never learn to win with confidence or even credit for really earning the title but to be called or considered that you just kept getting lucky.

11:30 I call every time here. He probably don't got a ten because he didn't bet the flop also the pot is laying you 3 to 1 on a call and if he has the ten you still got 29k in your stack instead of 34k which is basically the same thing so it don't matter if you loose. @@denisfolcik1373 Rampage was the preflop aggressor, why would he of donk lead with a 10? because there were were several people to the flop and it wasn't heads up. If you flop a ten here which is most likely the best hand why do you think it's good strategy to try and trap risking a check all around and letting 3 people have a chance to out draw you for free? do to the ten also pairing on the end it makes him even less likely to have the ten that he didn't protect on the flop. pot was laying you 3 to 1 when most of the time you are good here and even when he actually has the ten your stack is not affected because 29k and 34k is the same thing in poker when the blinds are low. a healthy stack. calling every time. unless opponent was a super nit like it was the first hand they played in an hour or more. then consider folding. also you have to understand old rounders like this guy will run a bluff even when they are card dead for a long time because of the image they have established. Rampage, it’s not the big hands that you win that gets you deep in tournament play… It’s the big hands that you lay down if you sense you could be beat… That is the difference between cash and tournament

Late reg is always a losing proposition. Biggest hole in your tourney game. Go to the pool. Read a book. Play cash. Don’t late reg

Unlucky with the Aces, man, but those JJs are never a rip, as the set is too rare and too many combos will beat you. Hey from Cairns

dude, you dont fire infinite, cuz you dont have the right mindset. you should take a nap or two just like others do. i get that you like to punt, but its not necessary to show everyone how you can lose even more.

tbh great vlogs, but why not just 3bet AK instead of jamming 40bb over a 2bb raise

The amount of money you have betted. You need to have 10 M plus to be sustained. Break a leg, bros.

I wouldve turned the 9s full of 3s hand in to a bluff and check raise all in .Try and represent quads.

You should have called with a pocket 99 I think your full house was better than his I think he had the 3, if he had the 10 he would have bet on the flop

Call in that situation, your short, its late. 5k doesn't put you all in and your still in an all in situation. 5k shorter or 40k larger...

I don't think old dude with a 10 checks flop then all the sudden think's he's good on the turn to lead out. That turn bet is a 3 or a draw

Never folding 9s at that price. Worth losing to ensure you didn’t fold the best boat
