The one of the kind Caro Nome could only happen at MET , I love the house productions more than anywhere else in this world , all of you are OUT of it . Don’t know what to do if without you every Fall-Winter in NYC ❤
Such a tender and joyful rendition of this aria, just lovely. I don't know what kind of setting they went for in this production, but I wish they gave Rosa a different outfit. It's like she' playing a middle-aged accountant here :D
Listened to the radio broadcast on New Year's Eve. In my opinion hers was the best vocal performance at the Met in the past few years. She was that good.
@@LordMgls Yeah, that ain't the best, but her "Tutte le feste", acuti in the storm sequence, and pianissimi in the final duet were all fantastic on the broadcast. There hasn't been a Gilda this good at the Met in ages.
I looked up this song doing research on musical savants (geniuses). Harriet was her name she hummed this song with perfect pitch and tempo when she was 7 months old!
I first sang this aria at 9 years old! But without words as I didn't know Italian and couldn't read it. I know I couldn't do it today as well as I did at 9. But it introduced me to opera!
Great voice, although flat at times and there is a disturbing and very unfortunate wobble in the top notes, thankfully not too wide but worrying for a very young singer … the orchestra is way too slow!
Annoying camera work. Unnecessary, aimless cuts, pointless zoom-in-and-outs, useless continuous camera movements, all very distracting and annoying. Why do they try to create an MTV style fast videoclip out of this slow, beautiful, lovely singing? Her voice and the rendition are both beautiful.
The voice is nice, but totally unsuitable to this role. She is too light and doesn't have the range for it, nor the coloratura. There's many pitch issues throughout, but the cadenza is embarrassing; she's far from the D# that she intended to sing. It's nothing new here, she's the soubrette number 200001 that sings Gilda.

She was delivering 110% at the performance today!! Was totally blown away.

The setting is supposed to be in Berlin during the Weimar Republic prior to WWII.
@@jjlungdoc7472 Yes. But poor Gilda looks like she works for the Berlin DMV. Everyone else is exquisitely costumed.
@@bobbymcgnyc Agree. I was just replying to another viewer who was asking about the setting.

3:44 is all i have to say
@@LordMgls Seriously. If you don't have the top D#, Verdi didn't write it anyway. Why use a cadenza you can't sing?

@@ThomasDawkins88 you are so right. IMO Nadine Sierra was a much better Gilda. Am not saying Feola was bad.
Watched the live in HD Rigoletto from the Met and was transfixed by her singing and her portrayal of Gilda

Beautiful aria. Bravo 👏.
Just saw her performed this Aria live last Thursday Nov 10, 2022 at MetOpera, she nailed it, she was amazing.
I love Rosa

Sounds good, Diva!

I saw Rigoletto yesterday. This 900th performance of Rigoletto at MetOpera was amazing!!!
Brava❤

Marvellous
Thanks, good … incidentally, thanks also for SUBTITLES…… even an Opera Nut appreciates the WORDS/a lot in my case,
Хорошо спела
Da cantante penso che in alcuni punti si arrivi male agli acuti ...ho sentito di meglio...e spero che si possa fare meglio ...studio studio studio...

Top notes quite thin.
she could do lot better than this
Chest voice?!
Ruth Ann Swenson sang this better

Not impressed, this is quite ordinary. The high notes aren’t developed and some are skipped altogether.
