This would have won if it hadn't been for the EBU increasing the number of entries per year. There were supposed to be 22 entries that year, but the EBU increased it to 24, allowing Israel and Portugal to participate, who were supposed to be relegated. But then Portugal withdrew nonetheless, and Latvia didn't have to be relegated, and somehow they won. Ugh...it makes me sick that those events just happened to occur
@Raynezzzz there are a lot of great songs this year! we can NEVER win as the countries vote to their neighbours! We don't have neighbours. Every year we have good songs but it doesn't matter!! N.E.I.G.H.B.O.U.R.S.
This is one of the most massive injustices Eurovision that produced. This was clearly the best song that year. But what won. A forgettable song with a stupid gimmick that didn't crack Latvian top 20.

I was gutted for Malta that this did not win. It wasn't the best song in 02 but was way better than 'I Wanna', which I regard as - by far - the worst winner of all time, which only won because of a cutesy strip routine.

I was 8 years old and this was one of my ultimate favorites ever. I loved her eyes and her clothing. I thought she was magical! :D

Latvia didn´t deserve to win but, neither did this. This song is flat, boring, cheesy and corny.
I would have given it to France or the UK, to be honest. Eurovision 1998-2008 had some pretty terrible results.
