A minha tia, Renata, deu-nos como prenda, para o nosso aniversário de casamento, uma pintura de "um jovem paisagista muito talentoso e prometedor “. Que beleza de imagem! Um lago brilhante e azul, com cisnes brancos e verdes salgueiros tristes na sua margem, sob quais pastem as duas cervas. O sol de cor de laranja estava a pôr-se por detrás das montanhas azuis no horizonte. Uma cena que deixa-lhes por muito tempo de boca aberta.
Esta obra-prima de arte obteve imediatamente o seu lugar permanente atrás das costas do nosso sofá, exceto durante as visitas da tia Renata, quando pendura no lugar de honra na nossa sala de estar. Felizmente a tia Renata sempre avisa-nos as suas visitas.

Portuguese: Então, toda essa coisa de dar presentes no Brasil não é como nos Estados Unidos, onde isso se limita a aniversários ou ao Natal(e outros feriados de troca de presentes nos Estados Unidos, obviamente), certo?
English: So the whole gift giving thing in brazil is not like the united states where this is limited to either birthdays or for christmas(and other gift giving holidays in the united states obviously), is that correct?

Don't get discouraged, keep at it if it is important to you.
I know how you feel, don't be so hard on yourself, you will improve if you consistently spend time with the language.
