Glad, that he got sober once he needed to, however to claim he only brought 80-90% on stage beforehand is ridiculous redconning. What improvements? Never seen this guy grab a wrong note. RB was (and is) an incredible live act!
@@robertpiwonski1215 oh I agree. I saw them at the Lolla after show a few years ago and it was one of the best shows I've seen. His vocals just seem a bit more polished, and his bass technique seems tighter.
I dont know how tfu.ck he can sing, play bass and stomp all that pedals, does he use some "controller" to turn on/off simoultaneosly the effects? I just realized its sooo damn hard to go to chorus and stomp bass clean channel and whammy V for fifths all in one second
@@francosicardo I think he has different pedals wired to certain presets on a multi-effects board so that he can alter between different pedals at different times, plus another analogue pedal next to the multi-fx board and other pedals backstage to get the original one which he then layers other pedals on top of.
@@garmen- due to a Q&A with Royal Blood at my Uni. That's not actually how it works. It's all analogue pedals on his board. There's no multi fx pedals. He just routes his signal into 3 separate amps and turns on each amp with a rerouter pedal when he needs it. His massive Fender 8x10 for bass, and 2 Fender reverb 500 guitar amps for high frequencies Most of his pedals are in these amp lines. Turning off one amp turns off the line of pedals associated with it. There's occasionally an exception I'm pretty sure. Like with Ten Tonne skeletons using a Digitech Whammy. But I could be wrong on that front
I don’t think people understand how incredibly difficult it is to play the riff to “How Did We Get So Dark?” and deliver impress vocals at the same time. Mike Kerr is my idol.
Agreed! Saw Royal Blood at Manchester Arena, at the time it was their biggest arena they had done (not including festivals) and the sound was roaring, literally blew me away. Saw them at Leeds Fest too and Boilermaker was absolutely crazy. One of the best live bands going
I don't think Ben gets enough credit for what a supportive friend and colleague he's been. He accepted Mike's new lifestyle without batting an eyelid. Royal Blood is basically Mike's autobiography which Ben helps bring to life. As long as they keep that balance they should be fine.
No- its 16th note triplets. The sticking is Rlr Lrl (Right-ta-ta And-ta-ta) Accentuate the Capital R and Capital L. Also as an alternative resource to learning have a look at Rob "beatdown" Brown's youtube channel. Great drills for rudiments on a practice pad and everything is notated as well so you get practical and theory lessons.
Great energy from these two - rock n' roll elements are all here. For those who are interested in drum and bass combos worth trying Disciplin A Kitschme - Heavy Bass Blues.
When was this recorded? I've seen in the title that it was this year and m, even though I guess it was without audience, or at enough distance, I was wondering when, according to how were things with the virus there, in the UK.
I’m not sure the exact month but it was recorded in 2021 and probably more recently I’d say. The virus here calmed a lot but it’s going back up again and that’s always going to happen. I’m just past caring at this point
@@rhysmcmahon6086 Oh my... Yes, it's more or less the same in every country. I was just curious because I lived quite near from Brighton during last year.
This was recorded with no audience for Radio 1’s big weekend. If you can get BBC Iplayer where you are the full performance is on there with a bit of interviewing. This was recorded in April. X
Not that he was by any means bad before; but you can see how much Mike's technique has improved since getting sober. It's great to see.

I will never understand how he pulls off Loose Change or How did we get so dark.
@@kazisami1051 lots of practice. It becomes really easy if you slow it down and understand where things go.
The drum part isn't that easy either. According to Ben it's one of the harder songs to play live.
That transition between songs was awesome
I couldn’t sing that good or play those bomb a** riffs, let alone attempt to do both at the same time. Serious respect to that talent, what a brain.
These guys are soooo good live. Can’t wait for them to come back to San Diego.
Big up the sound engineer!!!
such a balanced mix
What a beautiful bass!
this little monster riff is better than the 2014 official video!!!!
You mean sound?
I’m utterly shook it’s just two of you. Wow. Sounds like so many guys. Dude. So talented I cannot 🤯
And a girl.
Awesome performance
All you trashing on the new album really need to shut up and see them live it’s a different experience entirely
I've seen them in #Atlanta × 3 !!! Blew me away !!!🤘🙆♀️🎼🎶🎵🎸🎧🥁🔊

Little monster 👹🤘- great song
On one hand, i absolutely love this band. On the other, i'm so afraid of they having a fight and splitting out. But meanwhile enjoying every moment
I feel like their bond is too strong for that to happen. Hopefully not 🤞🏼

3:40 how did we get so dark
this is impeccably tight
Muito bom! Brasil!!
Did Ben do a double stroke roll in little monster @2:40

@@TheHalfjob123 Thanks so much!!! 😊❤
este riff de little monster es mejor que el video official del 2014
Nice Stuff 👀

🔥 Love it
Was interested to see if he could hit the “how did I” in HDWGSD’s first verse since getting sober seems like he’s still struggling with it a bit
