I was just tinkering around with the mod and found out that it isnt nessasary to get the mobs id and tp it to your id. you can simply create a scene and add your recording to it, then ype this command /mocap scenes modify (your scene name) (your recording number) playerAsEntity enabled minecraft:villager

This is a very complicated way of doing it. I recommend using The blockbuster Mod (1.12.2) form McHorse to make characters move,Future MC and the latest textures to make it look like a newer version

If you mean the player skin then when playing back the recording you do /mocap playing start (recording name) (name of player) then choose where you want to get the skin from, your options are mineskin, file, or player name.
If you mean the villager face/skin, go to something like nova skin and grab a villager texture and put it in your resource pack folder.

how to i get multiple villagers to act in a recording?

If you want multiple villagers to do the same thing I recommend watching part 2.
But if you want them to do different things then record your movements and save them with different names. Then spawn 2 villagers and tp them to your recordings. Don’t forget to do /mocap settings recordingsync true for the recording to pause and so therefore you can get the id of your recordings. Then tp the villagers to both or how ever many recordings you have.
