Sadly I’m not as gracious you. I can’t bear to sit under any Calvinist preaching. They are usually so deceptive too. They don’t actually lay out what they believe.
I do know that Lutherans and Calvinists are different to some degree. Lutheran's believe that Jesus died for all, while Calvinists believe Jesus only died for a particular group of people and nobody else.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

16So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
17For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

*22¶What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:*
*23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,*
24Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
25¶As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

We badly need to refute Calvinism and the truth about suffering and evil being gratuitous or not. Many teachings in the church about suffering and evil are wrong and don't really comfort people. This is a very informative video and is expressed very well. I need it. I watch every one of these that I can. You have a big audience. Please continue to do these little lessons.
First you need to study Calvin, and that will require your learning first how to compose properly grammatical sentences. Please get back to me after you know what you're talking about, perhaps after reading his Commentary on Paul's Letter to the Romans, and his little pamphlet, The Institutes of the Christian Religion (translated by Beveridge), for YOURSELF. Otherwise, pick on someone your own, diminutive size.
“ why did God choose to work through Isaac and not Ishmael?” Actually, there is a very good answer to this question. And it’s important to know because it’s the same answer to just about everything in the Old Testament. Why did God choose David to defeat Goliath? Why did God work through Jacob and Isaac and Abraham? The answer is, so that God would be seen as the hero of the story, not man. God chose David so that it would be obvious that the hero was God. God chose the loneliest nomadic, wandering poor tribe on the earth with no power no money, no fame, the hated despised wandering Jewsas his people to work through them, and with them, to raise them up, and do wondrous things through them, and make them into a mighty nation, so that he would unequivocally be seen as the hero.
Martin Luther did not hold to TULIP and or Calvinist theology.
he hold to arbitrary election to faith and salvation by God - the positions that Lutherans have adopted is another matter
I trust you will be posting your sources from Luther's writings that bear this out? Impossible, as they both believed primarily the same thing across the Bible, except with shades of meaning regarding the elements of the Lord's Supper. Luther was QUITE aware of them being a figurative sign, however, he was concerned that people understand the supernatural presence of God, not only within the act of taking the Lord's Supper, but also within everyday life of his congregants. FAR too much is made of Calvin's and Luther's supposed 'differences' than is made of their TREMENDOUS similarities and VAST areas of AGREEMENT. Why IS that do you think???? Devil at work, say I. Do you realize that BOTH men wrote thousands upon thousands of pages dedicated to helping others understand the Bible? Do you realize they wrote it on crude sticks and paper? Thousands upon thousands. They were both eminent EXPERTS on the Bible, dedicated to Jesus Christ with all their heart, and life, and few if ANY theologians even come close ever since, no, only posers and wannabes, if not deluded devils, for the most part. Imagine an illiterate 2-year-old critiquing a Ph.D thesis. Study before you speak, feigning authority.

When discussing John Calvin, arguing and so forth, I would like to see the participants use Calvin's actual sentences, thoughts, and intent, and honor his work and skills in the process. You all owe him that much. Also recognize that he was predominantly humble, incredibly aware of his own frailties, yet working fervently in a huge battleground. He was also not particularly interested in being in ANY position of authority, but was called, by God and the leaders of that city, to lend a hand.
