I hit them on the head, cut their swim bladder so they will sink and throw them back in the water. I don't personally have any other use for them, and I fill that bin about 3+ times each time I go out, so it'd be a lot of fish to transport around. I could say I do it because they are invasive, but I think the honest answer about why I bowfish for carp on utah lake is because it's fun in a variety of ways, just like other hunting/fishing types. The fact that they are invasive and harmful to the ecosystem is a nice justification, but realistically I'm not having any significant impact on carp numbers. However, if bowfishing were harmful to the ecosystem, I wouldn't do it.
New subscriber here. Love your video, that's on my wish list! We have a similar TH-cam channel if you want to check it out, "Hunt and Gather with the Chatters". Thanks!
You should definitely give bowfishing a try! It's a blast. I love that you have the whole family out on your trips. Can't wait to get mine out there too.
Those doubles were insane! Great camera placement too. It’s cool seeing you and the fish at the same time
Thanks! I saw a drone shot in one of your vids, very cool. A drone shot of bowfishing the early spawn would be wild.
@@bobcassel2598 let me know when and where and I can get some footage for you!

Mantap, 👍👍👍
Are you hunting carp here because they are evasive or are you doing something with them? Just curious.
