Just want to say thank you for the videos. I'm 36 and have taken up skatboarding for the first time with my eight year old son recently. We are both a little embarrassed but we are loving it. Your enthusiasm is amazing.
YOOO! at 0:08 where rodney half cab heel darkslides, hes doing that on a bnech in my home skatepark. I grew up in a town of lik 8k people in Wyoming of all places. Pros NEVER come anywhere near Jackson because its a town that gets almost 600 inches of snow a year on average, and its not exactly known for skating, but skiing. But i grew up worshipping Rodney and he's the only reason I stuck with skateboarding. Ive been sating for 13 years now, and I always attribute my long love for skating to Rodney. And that clip never ceases to blow my mind that he was skating my home park 15ish years ago. super crazy that its probably the only clip ever of a pro skating our park. MADE MY DAY to see that in the intro!!!! Love you jonny! keep it up! you inspire me every day!!!!
I dont even know why I love this so much, Im almost 50, cant even ollie and still have a dream about cruising around a skatepark. Much respect for ur mad skills and persistence sir😎👍
You definitely will get most of your tricks back withing 3 to 4 sessions. I'm 30 and just got back to it after 10 years. Although you will be wayyyyyy sore for a little bit, but that means your muscles are getting back in shape. Hang in there and go have fun bro
Yeah, just do it. No need to perform hard. You can take it easy, even pushing and carving can be so much fun. I restarted after 30 years at 44. There are so much simple things you can do and its a lot of fun - no need to "nollie tre double flip to casper to double nose hook impossible over a euro gap". You can do like 100 fun things even just with pushing and kickturning. And the rest will follow anyway.
nice too see you are all good Mr jonny...i hurt myself on a skateboard was bad never went back on it after that..i was 14...started watching your videos a month ago kinda made me go out and buy a new board and am 41 now..lol...but you know what was so much fun riding around
Yo Jonny I love seeing your sketchy landings at the beginning of the video. I always land the worst looking tricks and its refreshing to be reminded its not just me.
Man the scenery in your vids is just as amazing as your skating. It looks like you live in the middle of a sweet nature documentary...”Skaters of the Highlands”
damn jonny, that was so good. I remember when the secret skatepark tour came to my local park and I completely missed it (it was a secret tour, after all). by the time I heard they were there, they were already gone. these impossible trick videos are so good, keep em coming!
@Jonny Giger After all the effort you put into recreating these tricks, do you think Rodney had to do the same thing when he recorded them? It seems so casual when he does them...
I think a few times, perhaps (no one lands 100% of their tricks all the time). But the thing about Rodney is that he was a freestyle skater since he was 8, so he (still, btw) has this perfect balance. Primo, Caspers, etc are just basic stuff for him, like ollies. It's definitively easier for him, he can pull off these tricks more consistently.
I broke my knee when I was 13....20 years ago...really wish i could still skate, but my knee is barely held together as it is. I skate vicarious through you and skaterXL! Lol. I want you and Rodney Mullen to do a session together!
Jonny, if you have a rolled ankle, you really should take it easy. Do not feel pressured to put out videos at the pace that you do currently. You are a god and deserve a rest when you're injured.
Is the second trick from the intro at a skate park called rhodes skate park because that is what it looks like it is an old video so the skate park has changed but im pretty sure that is where it was filmed
Hey Jonny, I feel like a mad man saying this but May I give you some advice for that “rail flip”? If you treat it the exact same way you would a Primo Flip (as in putting some force down on the kicker as apposed to pushing it forwards) due to the shape of the board it will do a heelflip motion for you much smoother. This as apposed to when you have the trucks facing forwards, it tends to do the Varial motion. I doubt you’ll see this comment, but if you do please give it a go ☺️
Sick! Btw is there a way to submit trick ideas? I am not that deep into the scene so I don't know either if its possible or if it has been done already :) cheers
I do some freestyle and I think you're making the toe side rail flip way harder than it needs to be. If you just push down on the nose or the tail then the radius of the board makes the flip just happen, it comes up to your foot beautifully like the trick wants you to land it.
One of us disliked this vidéo !! How jealous or/and stupid he must be !! Nice vidéo ! You're one of the 3 best skater and You Tube channel in the world today..
i'm thinking about to start skating but i dont know what to buy... what does a normal good board cost? dont want to buy crap but also dont want to spend too much maybe any suggestions for a good complete board? i'm 191cm and 105kg
You and Andy Anderson should vibe out on skating one day together, maybe just a discussion style podcast or something. Sit and talk with the dude longform, edit out the rough parts and I think you'll have something really special for skaters of all levels and styles.
I love how he shows the other people in the park as part of the fun
and how you always see dozens of different people coming and going in the background... and hes there the entire time hahaha. this man sessions
i like your attitude about coming back from injuries. rather than being upset or angry, be happy that you get to be doing what you love again!
I want to see you interview Rodney
or the other way around... 😊
That would be awesome. I think Rodney would love to see how much he’s influenced Jonny
It should be the other way around. Just kidding. Love Mullen's interviews. People ask how he does his moves. He's just like ummm I just do it.
THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN
“I just recovered from an ankle injury, taking it easy”
-attempts tre to primo on a bank.

Switzerland is so beautiful... that park looks amazing
Came here to say this. Every backdrop is like a post card, what a beautiful country.
Just want to say thank you for the videos. I'm 36 and have taken up skatboarding for the first time with my eight year old son recently. We are both a little embarrassed but we are loving it. Your enthusiasm is amazing.
Johnny: “My ankle is injured so I don’t want to skate too hard”
Also Johnny: *tries to land primo*

Jonny: "my ankle is only at 80%"
Also Jonny: "Gonna do tre flip *_to primo_* rail flip out"
I dont even know why I love this so much, Im almost 50, cant even ollie and still have a dream about cruising around a skatepark. Much respect for ur mad skills and persistence sir😎👍
You made me pick up my skateboard after 10 years of no skating and it's so much fun man. You motivate people keep on doing these awesome videos✌️
I got to say watching these makes me want to go buy a blank through some decent hardware on it & skate but i haven't "skated" in 16yrs
Just roll around man no need to pop skate tricks

Check out r/oldskaters. There's a ton of people getting back into skating right now after many years. Me being one of them at 32. 👌
just wanted to say how fun your videos are to watch. thanks for making this amazing content.
"almost healed from my hurt ankle, time to learn some new tre-flip primo variations on the bank" ... said nobody ever.
except Jonny Giger. love it!
After all these months of watching your videos I'm starting to think "Rodney Mullen" is your favorite skater.
What a surprise
He’s the godfather of modern flatground, hard not to be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, when I have a sore ankle I just have a chill day and practice my Tre Flips into Primo Stalls too. ; )
nice too see you are all good Mr jonny...i hurt myself on a skateboard was bad never went back on it after that..i was 14...started watching your videos a month ago kinda made me go out and buy a new board and am 41 now..lol...but you know what was so much fun riding around
Ankle still recovering? Starts doing primo tricks... Absolute mad lad!
Yo Jonny I love seeing your sketchy landings at the beginning of the video. I always land the worst looking tricks and its refreshing to be reminded its not just me.

It's great to watch some friends of you skating with you, amazing ! The last trick, I have to try it !!
Johnny: I’m recovering from an ankle injury
Also Johnny: does the most dangerous trick for his ankle
When is the "impossible tricks of Mario the plumber" series coming?
If you are a plumber that is christian, does that make you a Christian plumber? Or just a plumber that is christian?
Giger is looking more and more like Mario as he gets older hahah
Such a beautiful set of tricks with an awesome special at the end!
I love it when you use the special trick sound :D
Also, do you have any plans to continue the special tricks in real life series?
That added THPS sound effect at 9:48 was a touch of brilliance
That was way cool! Thanks for being so dedicated!
Man the scenery in your vids is just as amazing as your skating. It looks like you live in the middle of a sweet nature documentary...”Skaters of the Highlands”
my fav youtuber by far, taught me so much :)
Your warm ups are my dream day of doing whatever trick I wanted... damn you kill it brother
Yes this is the best series on the Chanel
Do you think you could put the trick name in the video titles? It would make finding older videos I want to rewatch a bit easier.
Glad to see you back at it my dood!
damn jonny, that was so good. I remember when the secret skatepark tour came to my local park and I completely missed it (it was a secret tour, after all). by the time I heard they were there, they were already gone. these impossible trick videos are so good, keep em coming!

Never cease to amaze me! Great video Johnny 💪🏼
Kaffee, Kippe und dein Format am Morgen!
Klasse, mach weiter so 😎
RIGHT ON TIME!
Never seen anyone do nose to rail. Usually only do tail to rail. I’ll have to try from the nose to change the approach. Thanks for the inspo!
Can we just find a way to let Jonny and Rodney have an ultimate skate sesh already?
I love how you skate all the different obstacles in the park
8 people can't land an ollie or they rolled their ankle too.
Glad you're doing a little better Giger! 🤙💯
jonny, try the satisfye grip for your switch. the skull n co joystick extender things are good too! keep ripping.
I broke my knee when I was 13....20 years ago...really wish i could still skate, but my knee is barely held together as it is. I skate vicarious through you and skaterXL! Lol. I want you and Rodney Mullen to do a session together!
Great video Jonny keep it up and I hope your ankle gets well soon

Jonny, if you have a rolled ankle, you really should take it easy. Do not feel pressured to put out videos at the pace that you do currently. You are a god and deserve a rest when you're injured.
Y9u are brilliant sir Thank you for what you do.
Is the second trick from the intro at a skate park called rhodes skate park because that is what it looks like it is an old video so the skate park has changed but im pretty sure that is where it was filmed

Hi Jonny, which wheels do you have in you sk8 board on this video? tnks.
I do some freestyle and I think you're making the toe side rail flip way harder than it needs to be. If you just push down on the nose or the tail then the radius of the board makes the flip just happen, it comes up to your foot beautifully like the trick wants you to land it.
That was a banger. Nice work

Zenn Skate ahh ok. I think this trick is really not possible

@Daniel Choi i think first rotation is 360..and then turn 180 back. Not possible
Johnny to flip out of a Toeside rail, you add pressure on the tail (like lifting it up) then push forward
A real warrior! Amazing!
Yoo, what would half kick / heel flip into dolphin flip be? So dolphin flip but kicking nose / trucks when board has spun half way round
LOL great tricks bro.. Saludos de España
You should use the THPS special Trick noise for all the crazy tricks you do!!
