Thoughts on a couple of fronts.....1) We like to talk odds. I think the odds of a 10-2 team making the SEC Championship Game are low just to start the conversation. I know we have a bunch of titans duking it out every week so we may beat up on each other but it wouldn't surprise me to see a couple of 11-1 or an 11-1 and 12-0 team making it to the title game. Having said that, 100% agreement with the fact that it's unfathomable that we don't have a tie-breaker system in place by now. 2) I know we like to talk about "losing the luster" with things like the bowl games, conference championship games, the NCAA Hoops Tournament, etc when we start including more teams. Having said that, I always end those conversations when I put it this bluntly: "Will you watch?" I'd have to say the answer for most people, like it is for me, is 100% "YES". I'm not saying a 16-team football playoff or a 128-team basketball tournament is right or wrong. What I am saying is there's no doubt I'm in. I'm watching. And that's why expansion of these events will continue to be on the table for those who make such decisions factoring in the money involved with my eyeballs and yours.
BTW the Terry kid tho he's a 3 star for now don't sleep on him. Was I believe a Notre Dame commit before us. Big offers and big highlights. Already tearing it up this year too. May end up higher than Boggs who took a big fall in latest rankings.
I think 16-team playoff is probably the max I'm comfortable with. The byes currently feel a bit awkward, so 4, 8 or 16 is superior, IMO. Love the idea of having home playoff games for teams for first round or two. Also really like one Group of 5 team getting in just as a wild card that usually won't get past the first round but occasionally shakes things up. Only having Power 4 conference champions in would be rough because it would be telling roughly 60 teams that they can never make the playoffs no matter how good they ever become. I get they'll naturally probably never win it, but not giving them at least a chance calls into question why they would even be in the FBS ranks if they can't compete for a title.

I hope Schrader has success in San Fran even though I hate the 9ers. But even if he doesn’t get the job he was also drafted by the St. Louis Battlehawks so he has a great opportunity to be the star running back of his home town pro team which could easily lead to more future opportunities in the NFL. Or he could just be a hometown hero and win a championship for StL in the UFL.
I'll give you a curveball. I'd like to see the SEC teams that make the 12 team playoff, be excluded from the SEC Championship game. Instead call it the SEC Bowl, and let it be the top 2 teams left. I'll remind you the Chiefs don't play an AFC West championship game for example. I don't think it is fair, or in the players best interest to play in a 16th game of the season to win the National Championship. And why would you want to pile on possible injuries in the Championship game, that cost you in the playoffs. You wouldn't. So that means that game is going feature backups, and become meaningless anyway. The prize is the playoffs.
I personally think if Mizzou is 10-2, with the losses being OU and Bama, they will miss the playoffs. They wouldn't have an impressive win unless A&M is better than they should be and Mizzou catches them early. I think we need to either go 11-1 or have one of our losses be to an 11-1 a&m while beating OU
We just have to hang around that 5-10 Ranking all year, we got a great chance of getting in even as an At large team. Gary Pinkel is on the CFP committee this year. Helps to have someone arguing for you.
