Those were some really nice photos you took. Really interesting to see you move through the crowd, and especially when you had to squat down I’m impressed how you managed to get your composition, take the photo and move on. Really quick.

I've got a G2. I agree that the advance lever is soooo satisfying. It just feels great. The camera doesn't really do anything my Olympus Trip 35 doesn't, but I find it nice to use and so I've kept hold of mine.

I don't comment often on YT but yours has become my favorite photography channel and I really look forward to your stuff. I don't do street photography but you make me wish it was an Olympic sport.
I picked up the Hi-Matic AF2 a while back not knowing anything about it and I love it. It's light, has a bright viewfinder and a lens that is as sharp as I'd ever need it to be. Of course it's a point and shoot but the price/quality ratio is really good. That goes for Minolta cameras in general in my experience. Some of their most popular models have that brutalist 80s design that uses a lot of plastic and is kind of off-putting if you're not turned on to it, but what isn't evident until you have one in your hands is that the cameras are really solid and actually use metal in places where it's needed.

I love the coolness of these little compacts before the overly plastic and cheap ones from the mid-late 80's. I picked up a Ricoh 500RF, which is mechanically identical to the Ricoh 500g but is cheaper made, and looks almost identical to the Hi-Matic G2, like many of the 70's compact rangefinders. It only cost me £18 on eBay, it was like it had never been used. Except for the disintegrated light seals which I replaced. It can be used mechanically (full manual), or with a battery that allows you to have a light meter and automatic aperture. I think it's made of a combination of metal and plastic, but it strong enough for me to not worry about it.
It's a full frame pocket sized film camera with a good lens and bonus features if you need it. What more could you want from a compact? :)

Hey, you have probably heard this question hundreds of times, but I still want to know, what is your absolute recommendation for someone looking into film photography? (What camera would you recommend for a newcomer to film street photography that's on a budget?)
Anyways, I love your videos and you have really sparked my interest in photography. Can't wait to see more!

Hi Mark, I know you were probably looking for Ed's input here but I just wanted to recommend the Canonet Ql17 Giii. Theyre cheap, durable, and have a high quality lens. The best part is if your battery dies they still shoot manually. Best of luck!

    Hello evryone,
    Collector of small-scale film camera,
I currently have in my possession a canonQl17, minolta srT101b, fujica801, nikon Em (I love its compactness).
I love the grip and look of the metal cases of the 70s 80s.
And I'm looking for a non-plastic auto focus reflex (90's).
My wife loves these devices, but she hates doing manual focus.
A little lost I do not know where to turn, would you have an idea.
Thank you for your helping hand.
    Guillaume a french
