Wondering if someone could help me with some info?
Was fishing today with a 8 Solid elastic and a 6lb mainline > 4lb hook length, was catching some carp between 3- 7 pounds but when hooking anything bigger when they started to run it would break the hooklength instantly, is this an issue with the elastic or need stronger line? i've seen people not recommend anything near as strong or using the same while fishing and catching similar weights. thanks

Wilko,it would all depend on where the hook length is snapping, if it's the loop knot or the knot at the hook hold,or the line itself,or it could of been a snaggy peg.

Hi Wilko, yes I agree. I think it could be your knot or how you have attached your hook length to your main line 👍
