Hey, just to bring this up since I've been getting comments about it recently, No, I haven't seen Enter's political videos and didn't include them in the video because I thought they were just long rants about stuff like his "We Need To Talk" videos, and I didn't consider them part of his regular content. Sorry if you wanted me to cover them but I didn't. I just didn't think it would be worth covering.
Well, what is there to talk about? He's a centralist who flip flops between central left and central right. His political views are quite neutral besides not liking Trump because... let's be honest Trump's been one of the worst people in power in US history
In his worst cartoons of the decade, he brought how one reason he didn't like Big Mouth because he was asexual, and jokes about sex make him uncomfortable. I'm personally the same way, but I have a feeling that would trigger people, and they would say "He's just making excuses."
Someone that isn't blindly hating on MrEnter and genuinely wants to see him improve? That's honestly a surprise and you have my respect. I definitely agree that he has gotten better than when he first started, but he still does have some more problems to fix to truly improve.
@Phineas Facing Forward Problems are I think so many people I used to respect seem to just on a whim drop him saying they want nothing to do with him now. His previous editor Crimson Mayhem I think 2 months ago said hes cutting ties with him, The Cartoon Hero claimed he used to want to collaborate with him and now won't and I wouldnt be surprised if the hate he received from the political videos is what got him to leave twitter.
eh. its more that in general hes not very good at comedy. it doesnt have to be when hes doing the 'pretend angry' thing- anytime the guy tries to go along with a joke for more than a few seconds it feels awkward and forced, and the full on skits he does are just painful. ex. the can opener bit with the totally spies review wouldve been funny if he didnt play it up as much as he did, & any time that grey beard guy shows up id try to skip it because its that bad commentators like him work a lot better and are overall just funnier when they keep the comedy to one off snarky/dry remarks that maintain the pace. he HAS managed to make me laugh on many occasions when his jokes are like that, though i cant think of any instances off the bat cause its been a long time since ive watched him (his political views werent the worst but they gradually kept rubbing me the wrong way and i stopped) i cant say i blame him too much for his voice being unfitting for the comedic style he sometimes tries? im autistic too and i have similar trouble with the way i talk making the jokes i try to tell sound awkward. its really fucking hard to get the hang of & it sucks cause in most other aspects i have a pretty good knack for comedic timing and effect. he could get speech therapy and study comedians a bit if he wants a more lighthearted commentary style but hes probably better off playing into his strengths
That’s the thing, I don’t think “angry reviewer” is a gimmick with him. I think that’s actually just how he is. And yeah it’s not funny. I think he tried spinning it to be funny at one point, it didn’t really work so he just plays it straight now.
in his new videos, he admits he was unnecessarily angry the first time he reviewed the show admittedly i won;t watch his videos where he reviews stuff i like. but i still enjoy his videos
I actually remember something. The bit where mr.enter complained that rise of tmnt is badly animated because the characters don't move every second, In any show or animation with any from of action you need to have moments where characters stop so the audience can sit back comprehend what's happening and breath, if there is to much happening at once on screen your audience will be overwhelmed. I say this because I remember that was one thing people where talking about with hazbin, where so much was happening with animation the audience wasn't about to breath or comprehend what happened. Yes, It also cuts corners to save money but it's mainly because the brain can only handle so much in such a small amount of time before you have to go back and re-watch something multiple times. A lot of cartoon reviewers like enter seem to forget this fact or out right dismiss it for whatever reason
This video made a good point about Enter and his editors not understanding the same video. In his Harvey Beaks review, he said the show was disappointing because the issues they tackled were light-hearted kids stuff, yet the very beginning of the video before he even started talking showed one of the characters learning about DEATH for the first time. Alpha Jay did a much better review.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 Wasn't that one of the points he made in that video though? That he thinks the show does better when it's not doing generic kid show stuff? Seems like that's what I remember, though it's possible I just figured that was what he was going for because he chose to show that clip.
@@D_YellowMadness His criticism was that he thought the show DIDN'T do those things, even though it clearly did. He brought up the more serious moments he liked in Hey Arnold also came from understanding what childhood was actually like growing up when addressing the the opinion that the 2 shows have the same tone. Something else I found questionable was that people pointed out Enter had likely only seen the beginning of Rise of the TMNT, since apparently some of the writers returned from the previous series that he did like, and that there were clips from the first season finale in his video. I thought that hiring editors just made it so that it could take the load off of the main creator's channel and that it was done by cooperation, but this is not the only time I've seen this.
I do remember when Enter had the thing where he realized that he needed to calm down and take a more toned-down approach to things, because getting overly angry wasn't good for him or his content. It really softened my opinion of him because I saw it as someone genuinely realizing a problem with their work and attitude and wanting to improve. Many of the videos published about him seemed unnecessarily cruel and malicious, and I got the sense that everyone was beating on him more because he was a socially acceptable target in TH-cam circles than Enter really deserving it. Dude's got issues, and there's still things that could be improved with his content, but improving is more than we get from most content creators and he seems to truly want to.
As someone who's been following him prior to his rebrand in 2017, it is interresting to look at his evolution and development as a content creator and a person.
Same. He isn't a saint but he seems like his heart is in the right place generally so I give him a pass. Some of his content, as 'badly edited' as they may be is fine to listen to on the background anyway.. Not that excuses it but it does go back to his development. Honestly he has aged closer to wine then milk on this platform.
Enter's someone I've been following since the beginning, but I don't think I'd get the same enjoyment out of his earlier reviews (2016 and earlier) as I once could. His output since then has mostly been amazing though.
@@twenty-fifth420 You should check out his Discord among other outlets. Hell, he still treats Growing Around like it's a thing that's going to happen. It's his Gen Zed.
I will admit, the dude was an overly done and hated topic for a while. While he's done some shitty stuff himself I don't think he deserved all the hate he's got
@Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Same goes for EZPZ. Speaking as someone who uses sites like 4chan fairly often, the only thing I thought about his video was "wow EZ's a dick"
Enters has admitted in the past to not watching response videos citing Sturgeon’s law... Which is pretty hypocritical given how he complains that the Teen Titans Go writers can’t take criticism
@@kylecampbell565 enter has always had a very "head up his own ass" attitude and at times chosen not to acknowledge criticism unless he can say "what your criticizing is old and not relevant anymore" or "thats just harassment." i'm in no way trying to say enter or anyone else "deserves" harassment, but his content quality is *not* the main reason he's always been a bit dislikeable.
Ey look it me. But legit though, this video was well put together dude. I especially love how you go into even more depth than many of the others that did videos on Mr Enter in the past.
It took him at least 2 years to make a video talking about select users such as Turkey Tom smack talking him, he's deleted several videos from his start that he himself regrets, apologized for the harrassment sone of his fans took to certain old spongebob writers and redid some of his old reviews. That takes a lot of guts to do and time.
I watched some of his more recent stuff, and while it wasn't high art, he had definitely improved. One of the few instances I've seen where an infamous youtuber got better.
I think part of the reason MrEnter's work fluctuates in quality as far as scripting and research is concerned is his Asperger's. Not to take a dig at someone on the spectrum or to use it as a shield, but he did mention in a video where he revealed his condition that he has periods of intense interest in a subject followed by periods of no interest as a result. You can see some of this with his stint of covering much older media, his Eras of Animation stuff, and not reviewing MLP:FiM after season 4 on TH-cam and season 5 on DeviantArt. Nick-o-rama may have also suffered from this combined with the scope of the project. Hopefully he sees this video and is able to make good on the critique.
As someone on the spectrum myself, I can definitely see this being a possibility, and thought as much myself. People often tend to dismiss Mr. Enter's autism, as being irrelevant to his production quality, and while I can see why (likely because they aren't as versed on the subject, and probably don't want to comment on it for fear of sounding ignorant or perhaps because they genuinely don't think it has anything to do with it), I do think that it has a hand to play in his production and how he does things. Looking at myself, I'd probably work very similar to Mr. Enter, and am trying my best to overcome my pitfalls, but it's very difficult, and I'd imagine it's even more so if you don't understand what's holding you back. I hope that Mr. Enter is seeking therapy to help him with his condition like I am, and is trying to learn self-improvement, even with a condition like autism.
@@leirawhitehart1236 Even when I was writing my initial comment, I did some research and saw that bipolar disorder and ADD/ADHD can be co-morbidities with the autism spectrum. Co-morbidities are just disease states and conditions that have a tendency to manifest together, like high cholesterol and high blood pressure. The way he described it did come off as those in a way. Whether or not he has a diagnosis, I don't know. I didn't want to insinuate. Hopefully he is able to seek therapy if he needs it especially now given the situation and the despondence he's expressed in recent rants and streams. He did call out his governor by name in his Lion King review which would place him in MA if Google is correct, and that proximity to NYC would be worrying to anyone.
As somebody who as Asperger's, I can confirm that this is a thing. It's really easy to get really, REALLY heavily invested in, almost obsessed with, a topic, and become damn near an expert of it within a few days, but then, at some point, you're going to move on, and drop it nearly permanently. It could be an a week, it could be in a couple months, hell, it could even be a year or more, but when you drop the topic at hand, it's done swiftly and immediately, and it'll be ignored almost completely until some random point in the future where it's picked up again.
Thank goodness you weren't just mindlessly bashing on Mr. Enter like other content creators. Yes, Mr. Enter has a lot of problems, but he's acknowledged his shortcomings and desires to improve.
I remember liking Turkey Tom until his first Enter video. Not so much because I'm an Enter fan, but more because it was just so fucking unnecessarily mean and nasty. He only made the video because hating on Enter was "cool" in 2018.
Turkey Tom is basically reviewer LeafyIsHere - an angry and disillusioned little man who takes everything out on others. [And I have a feeling he's a bit 'hateful' - if you get what I mean]
One thing he did which super annoys me as an actual animator is, he seems determined to refer to things like "Character Design" and general "Art Style" as "animation". ....Animation is movement. It's not design. He kept going on in his Emoji movie review on how the "animation looks copy pasted" when talking about the city and how it seemed to use repeated buildings. But that's not animation! And he does this a LOT. Normally I wouldn't get too annoyed by this if it's just someone talking about a movie they watched, but this is a guy whose bread and butter is literally talking about cartoons. You'd think for someone who focuses on animation he'd actually learn the proper terms used in the industry. It not only means he uses incorrect terms, but it also means it becomes confusing what exactly he's talking about. I'm always left confused if he's talking about the actual movement or character design until he elaborates. It's frustrating.
Hey Ur the one from Mr.Enter's Drawn Together video & Talking about the incident with the bill board & if that wasn't true That still would not be funny to me
I do agree in some instances-but in others like his review on My Life Me he is correct with saying to burn the animation with fire-the movement is cheap and stuff-although I would get those not in the know not getting what he is talking about cause the character designs are somewhat appealing to the eyes as they are based on manga and anime which is usually always appealing. So I do get what you are talking about but he does it right every once in a while-although considering he is trying to get an animated show off the ground himself it is less excusable not differentiating on his terms when talking about cartoons in general. Thankfully he has admitted he is still learning and has failed at communicating his points on animation which has has caused his commissions for his concept to falter because he admits he communicate well with what he wanted and after improving with that he got more of what he wanted in the end with his concept. I love seeing him improve over time and I can see he is still learning-but he also knows when to stick up for himself-like when dumbasses criticized his show concept for being “too outlandish” especially in a medium with a show about a FUCKING TALKING SPONGE AND SEA STAR-somehow a concept where adults and children switch in terms of prominent roles in society is too crazy…riiiiight. So yeah. I can’t wait to see him improve more over the next few years as he has genuinely taught me a lot about storytelling.
@@misterdewott8766 Look at Twinkle Nora Rock Me; A screenshot of it looks very promising, but the actual animation is almost nonexistent. Think Synchrovox but without the realistic lips.
You can have simple animation like OK KO: let's be heroes, My Life as a Teenage Robot and Chalkzone. I love how fun it is. But, Ben 10 Reboot was wasted opportunity and took too long to stop overly changing original Ben's Aliens and leave some of the current voice actors be.
Love how your criticism of Star Giant was a year ahead of its time, considering Mr. Enter himself said the same things about her in a tell-all video he made in 2021, after firing her.
Yo I'll never forget how Turkey Tom treated mister enter. Calling him a paedophile and then trying to defend it is just disgusting. Turkey Tom has not improved as a content creator to this day and it's shameful people would associate with him.
@@KingSpaghetti Oh my apologies, I meant what has Turkey Tom said in retrospective about the Mr. Enter video. EZ PZ has gone down hill the last few years, I wasn't ever the biggest fan though
@@KingSpaghetti Hm okay, well the regret doesn't really matter if he hasn't come out publicly and told people that he apologises for and regrets what he did. Deleting the video at that point is just kind of sweeping it under the rug, and is strictly self-serving.
i don't watch mr enter anymore, and i haven't for years but from the sounds of it, he REALLY needs a break from youtube, or the internet as a whole for a few months at least(or maybe he's already taken one, idk). it just doesn't sound like he's enjoying making these videos
Unfortunately, I really don't think he can afford to do that. He's not a TH-cam juggernaut like Jenna Marbles who has amassed a fortune from her content, and this is how he makes a living. Taking a break could mean having no way to pay his rent or feed himself.
I haven’t seen much of him because his content was way too negative for me. Not to mention pretty stale half the time, but it probably won’t for hurt him to take a break and seek help. Not a huge fan, but a little sympathetic for once.
8:01 You praised your editing right before this moment but it was so fast and jarring I couldn't even keep track of what happened. It just gave me whiplash.
I think the main reason Technocracy was great and Nick-o-Rama wasn't was because you could tell it was a passion project. He thought it through and gave it the time and effort it deserved, you can tell he handled it with care. Something I cannot say about Nick-o-Rama.
I think right before Nick-O-Rama happened he made his COPPA video and said how Nick-O-Rama was admittedly a stunt so he wouldn’t completely fail on YouRube or something along those lines
As a fan of Mr. Enter, I was worried this was gonna be yet another video harping on him about how bad he is and how bad his videos are. I was pleasantly surprised! I really hope he improves and takes your advice.
An additional point regarding the editors. There seems to be zero communication between what Enter wants and what the editor puts in. In Enter’s awful take of Rise of the TMNT he goes on a rant on how they ruined Splinter and turned him into somebody who hates his sons.... Yet the video shows Splinter putting his life on the line to save the turtles
Actually Jorge’s original ending was to have Manny be a hero, plus also get with Frida and even die protecting her! Still, you did the discussion on Enter’s review on _El Tigre_ sums up my frustration with his review
I think Mr. Enter’s biggest problem is that he tried to be one of those AVGN/Nostalgic critic style angry reviewers. But his online persona and real life personality weren’t distinguished enough for that to resonate with most people. As a result he just came across as a legitimately bad person and poor critic. His best videos are when he completely divorces himself from that persona, while his best are those when he’s just being himself.
I mostly watch him to witness his character arc. Like old him I watched for the same reason someone would watch nostalgia critic today, but now he has evolved to such a degree that now it's the weirdest redemption arc i've ever seen
His Lion King review is both a review and like the final act for someone's character arc. I'd call his 'present self' coming out of the shadows akin to a character with a lot of regrets letting go of them
Pachy The Pirate Good point lol. I can only hope this is just a major setback in the story lol. Like a massive fall before the true redemption. As a former Mr. Enter fan, I really hope he does.
@@wannabehistorian371 A year later I would say he finally fully redeemed himself. At least for me, in the last year he fixed every problem he had as a creator and found his old passion His latest SpongeBob list is a testament of his growth
Honestly, I wish Mr. Enter would stop relying on Animation Reviews so much. As proven by his other types of video, the man is very analytical with a good eye for detail and with the ability to present a detailed, convincing argument. In some ways, him doing animation feels like a crutch.
For everyone talking about the Turning Red drama or the PSA/pandemic stuff, Enter addressed it in his Top 10 Worst MrEnter videos where he talks about his biggest fuck-ups. Respectively, those took the Number 5 and Number 1 spots.
Dear lord, you’re 16!? You sound 18 at least, and your content’s quality is on par with content creators I’ve watched who are well into their twenties.
Technocracy is Enter at his peak, the way he managed to stay on topic on the TH-cam video, a subject he had a negative history and probably would suffer bias from, with shows that he can do great stuff when he puts his mind to it.
[32:55] I remember a TH-camr called TennelleFlowers doing a couple videos where she talked about limited animation. To put it simply: if TV animation weren't simplified, it literally wouldn't exist. We've been doing this shindig since the 50s with Yogi Bear and Top Cat; the difference now is that the technology's gotten better, given us different ways to simplify workloads, etc. An interesting point she made about framerates in particular (this links to the "100% fluidity" comment) is how having higher ones doesn't necessarily make an animation better. That mindset's come about because of real-time video games. Obviously in a video game, having a low framerate interferes with gameplay (i.e. reaction time); animation, not so much. Having 60 fps isn't a necessity to understand what the heck you're looking at, and adding that polish doesn't translate to better animation, especially when working on a TV budget.
it's nice to see someone actually criticize Mr Enter without being one of _those_ people. The kind of people to just FLAME the guy, whether be bringing up old drama or just brutally mocking his criticisms in an unfair manner, or just making some really, REALLY terrible accusations against him.
Also 2022 Mr Enter: Kids cartoons talking about BLM and wearing masks suck! Feminists suck! BLM sucks! Wearing a mask sucks! Cartoons in MY day are GODS compared to now!
I think the reason he rushes through a lot of the videos without much passion and effort is because he knows the TH-cam algorithm will screw him out of revenue if he doesn't upload constantly. But I think there's much better ways to make filler content than lumping them together with what he actually wants to talk about.
God, i sure do hate when a family friendly movie doesnt mention a tragedy that killed lots of people because the movie took place at a time where it was relevant
And Im mad that a kids cartoon is making shorts to talk about current events with kids but putting it to their level >:c how dare they encourage public safety and health, and talk about equal rights! But boy, this movie about puberty taking place in another country didnt talk about a tragedy in MY country!
I'm a big supporter of Enter and I have to say this is a great video. You didn't tear him up cua you're mad at him, you pointed out legit flaws he has. And for that I applaud you. Good video
I think I'm a fairly decent editor myself but I'm going to have to remember this "fade-in/keyframe into place" thing for on-screen text and still images.
Seeing you give constructive feedback and actually giving tips and, hell, step-by-step instructions on how to do certain editing techniques was just awesome to see. I've been a casual fan of Enter for years now and I've seen my fair share of criticism videos on him. I think this is by far the best one. Great job.
Mr. Enter is (was) probably the most disproportionately hated content creator I've seen on TH-cam. He's been called a Pedophile (An insult i wouldn't throw at my worst enemy without any basis.) And EZ almost doxing him, practically admitting he was compelled to do so for some fucking reason? Point is, Mr. Enter has gotten a lot of shit, especially for someone who's taken a good chunk of the criticism thrown at him, and improved upon it, something most people would sooner deny and double down on. I don't see a Teen titans go vid every 2 weeks, and his editing and overall content has improved considerably. I may be somewhat Biased on account of also having aspergers, and understanding most of the shit he's been through, but objectively speaking, he's definitely not the same person he was 3 years ago.
Yeah, remembering 9/11 wasn't a thing on my mind as a second grade Canadian 🤨 like... Even now it's just mentioned on the news each year but that's kinda it.
I admire how he improved on a personal level; proof there's always room for growth.I wish him well, and that he (and his editor) may improve even more: it's a long way there, but I think he's getting there. Glad you pointed out the flaws in this creator in a constructive way.
Yah while he doesn't say how many episodes he really watched on El Tigre, you can tell he only watched one by what he says. His El Tigre review frustrates me the most since most of his complaints are either the point of the show ( like Manny going between good and evil is the point and the show even makes an episode showing that it's a problem with anyone that becomes El Tigre) and his "this isn't mexican enough" point. It's the same with the other shows he reviewed that anyone that has seen the show before can tell he only watched one episode.
Oh wow, I don't expect a good criticism video on Mr. Enter, but dang....this is a good video. I like Enter's videos, but I also liked watching some of these videos just to see and listen to people's thoughts on him. I hope he does watch this video. One of the best criticism on Mr. Enter I've seen so far. I guess I have to watch his Technocracy videos now. I passed on them for being hour long videos.
Honestly, the only thing that makes me mad is his judgment on the rise of the tmnt cartoon, and how he only gave one episode a view, clsims its too childish and thought the animation was bad, then refused to watch the rest of the season, when the world building and story telling really took off. Yet, he had the same complaints about bojack horseman's first episode, but finished the series and ended up liking it. He got a lot of criticism for this, but pretty much just ignored it all, and made a backhanded comment that hes not gonna review stuff he doesn't like. Like bruh. You are an animation reviewer. That's literally your job.
If he had come to a similar conclusion with Rise of TMNT after he watched several episodes, then it wouldn't be so bad. This is mostly why I thought he shouldn't really do marathons anymore, seems like doing these decreases his tolerances for shows, hence why he was so hung up on Mighty B, El Tigre, and Rise of TMNT.
What’s worse is after being informed that there were writers from previous TMNT incarnations he claimed he hated the show MORE Mr. Enter defending his shitty review of Rise of the TMNT I'm gonna level with you here. I don't know how much of my "objective" dislike got this on this list, or how much of it was spite. There's a funny thing that I've noticed with the like/dislike bar. On every single other Nick-O-Rama review, there's at least a 95% like to dislike ratio. The Rise review has about... a 70%, and keep in mind this wasn't my only unpopular opinion. A lot of people had problems with my Welcome to the Wayne Review, Barnyard, and just about any other Nicktoon I said wasn't the paragon of animation. It got such a response that the only option is for me to be proud of how much I hate this stupid ass show, and the only direction it could possibly go is lower on this list. I'm getting a little tense. Let's get into the actual problems with the show. "It gets better later" is not a defense. I'm getting sick of this stupid ass defense. If you're show starts out terrible, it's completely understandable to me for someone to write off a show. Your show doesn't have to start off amazing, but it needs to start out good. I'm getting really sick of this shit, and Nick-O-Rama was the final nail in the coffin for me. Whether it be shows like this, Korra, Chalkzone, or even shows I love like Friendship is Magic or BoJack Horseman. Having a slow, mediocre, or even outright bad beginning is one of the worst moves that you could make. "It gets better" is not a defense. A show doesn't have to be amazing, but it should start out a lot better than this. The priority of the first episodes of a series is to make me want to see more, and the beginning of Rise tells me that this is every other shitty reboot that I've ever seen. This is made even worse by the fact that apparently, some TMNT veterans worked on this show. That makes this mistake inexcusable, since the previous series did not have this issue. We learn that Splinter actually has depth. Eventually. I don't *care*. I'm never going to give a shit about the guy who spouts out lines like "I thought the purple one was the funny one." No, I'm sorry. I've seen this character before, and Peter Griffin just isn't funny to me. If a character has hidden depths - rule one, foreshadow. Give me something, or this is the only thing that I will ever know about him because I have no interest in finding out more. A lot of people defended the animation by talking about the fight scenes. Have you considered looking at the... not fight scenes? Especially because this, at least at the start, takes the Powerpuff Girls 2016 attitude of going a lot less action-packed than previous installments, to the point of having episodes with Splinter having a weird creepy disease. Whenever there is no action, it is *stilted*. Characters barely move. It feels like a seventies cartoon sometimes. It has no concept of secondary action. You're right, the action scenes look pretty good. Congratulations, this show doesn't know how to *budget*. "But it's anime style." Yeah, so was the original Teen Titans, which managed to have both intricate fight scenes and make the non-action scenes look visually interesting. And you know what, going from stilted to flashy feels goddamn jarring. But no, you're right about one thing - the animation is the best thing about this show. "Actually, the TMNT's new weapons *are* ninja weapons." I don't recall saying they weren't. What I said was that their original weapons were iconic, and it showed a great disrespect to the franchise to change something so iconic. Am I going to review this show? I don't know, because quite honestly, there's a lot of spite and that can make for a dangerous review (see the original Rocket Monkeys review). It's not the worst cartoon fanbase. As far as I know they haven't tried to taunt an artist into suicide, but it isn't one that I'm going to really like or tolerate any time soon.
Doing the Nickelodeon marathon clearly left Mr.Enter bitter towards the end. Rise of the TMNT has fantastically animated action scenes, yet he couldn't see it.
I have no idea what that TMNT show is... but it looks absolutely fire. That animation style is so dynamic, it’s something new to look at for an old property.
Coming into this video, I was very worried that this was just going to be some senseless bashing video where you are calling Mr. Enter a pedo or mocking him for little stuff or implying you want to dox him like I have seen other videos do but instead it was a reasonable and informative video. You were respectful and did your research, took the time to make sure you knew what you were talking about, offering praise and criticism when needed and also showed what you meant by giving your own examples which earned a like from me. You came off as someone who wanted to see Mr. Enter improve, not just to trash talk him so you could jump on the bandwagon and that's what I like about this video. This is the first video I have watched from you (possibly, I have crap memory) and this made me want to watch more because I can expect quality, patience, research and experience with the topics at hand.
On the topic of fixing the borders when moving images, that's not generally how it's done. The most common way is to just change the aspect ratio to match the project
I'm a fan of Mr. Enter; I started watching him around the time he made a review on the Season 10 premiere of Fairly Oddparents, and I've always enjoyed him. But you gave good criticism, in good faith, and because of that I respect you. I expected this video to be another "bluh bluh his editing is shit, bluh bluh he insults writers, bluh bluh he's too angry," but you actually had good points to make, and you did it in such a way that shows that you actually care about seeing him improve and aren't just hating him because it's a bandwagon. Hats off to both you and Enter.
As someone who is also a 16 (well, now 17) year-old who has just started to create long form content, this was an excellent video. I've been watching Enter for over six years and I found that his quality was a bit of a rollercoaster, so this was a pleasant watch to see someone look into the good and bad. I also learned some good tips from this video that I definitely plan to use in the future, so thanks for that. To be honest, I usually had Enter videos on in the background, but now that I'm starting to make my own videos it really brought to my eye how crummy some of his videos' editing is. The big arial text in the center of the screen is such an eyesore.
Saw this recommended to me. Speaking as a fan of Enter, this was a solid watch and you were a lot more even-handed than a lot of people get about his stuff. For that, it's encouraged me to check out your channel, might sub later!
A series about a character obsessed with merit badges to the point of kidnapping people and sinking the Titanic would be a pretty great adult series, something like Invader Zim.
Such a well done vid my dude! You actually addressed things I've always had problems with regarding Mr. Enter but I don't have a big following like you so I was worried that no one would pay attention to it.
You should do a follow-up to this video, because Enter’s heading in the right direction. He’s still not the best reviewer on here, but he’s definitely improved since you released this video. He fired his worst editor Star Giant and even recently made a video calling them out on every bad thing they’ve done, both in the videos they edited and behind the scenes, since they were hired. He’s also giving Nick-O-Rama a second chance. In this, he’ll be fixing the worst videos of his previous marathon, as well as reviewing the cartoons that he forgot such as the ones that aired on Nicktoons Network. If you’re not interested, that’s completely fine. I was just thinking about this video after watching Enter’s newest video and was wondering on your side of the matter. Edit: I say make the follow-up after Enter finishes his second Nick-O-Rama and give us your thoughts. Edit 2: Wow, never mind, I guess he’s a joke again. Now if you were to ever make a follow-up, I would call it “The Re-Rise and Re-Fall of Mr. Enter”, and the Turning Red stuff should only be the last thing to talk about. After this video and before the new controversy, he was doing so good, so close to completely improving, but then he said 9/11 should’ve been mentioned in Turning Red. Wow.
I got plenty to say about Rise of the TMNT as I don't see it as a good show. But saying it has bad animation?? That's just insane. It's a visual spectacle when it wants to be and when it's not, it's still really good animation.
I really loved the "addressing criticism" video because people were basically sucking him off and pretending they never had an issue with him. People are snakes.
Do you think Pan Pizza and Saberspark at least showed some genuine concern for how they bashed him in the past? They commented there once the video uploaded fresh.
Ah! I knew something was up with his Mighty Bee review! I watched quite a few episodes of it while it was still airing and enjoyed it. Bessie wasn't perfect (in a good way! No character should be perfect overall!), but she was a good owner to Happy, a good sister to her brother, and had a good balance of people she surrounded herself with overall. As you said, lots of people did like her. And thanks for the editing tips! It's no wonder I usually leave his videos on in the background while I draw since there isn't much movement (other than, as you mentioned, with the recent video and some edits).
El Tigre helped to give me some form of connection to my Mexican culture and it's disrespectful for Mr Enter to assume that the show was just "lipservice" to the culture
The biggest issue I have at times with Enter, and this is purely because of how ADHD and other things like it work, is that when you lose interest in a topic you just straight up lose interest. But Enter also knows that he has to keep his most popular series, Animated Atrocities, going even if that's not what he's passionate about anymore. It's why Technocracy is great, because at the time he was hugely interested in that stuff.
A big problem with Mr. Enter's "Nick-O-Rama" series that most people don't bring up was that once he was criticized for a bad review, he tried defending his viewpoints with information that simply wasn't true. Here is the worst example of him doing this, taken from one of his DeviantArt posts: "ChalkZone got better...not when it was on Nick. Only when it was booted to NickToons and lost its chance for a good impression." Uh, Enter, did you do your freaking research?!? ChalkZone NEVER moved its premieres to NickToons. All of its 40 episodes originally aired on the main Nickelodeon channel here in the United States. Season 1 originally aired in 2002, season 2 originally aired in 2003, and season 3 originally aired in 2004, with season 4 (the show's final season) being the only outlier as its first half originally aired in 2005, but its second half didn't premiere untill 2008. While it IS true that Nickelodeon screwed the show over (since the show's final 6 episodes only aired on Nickelodeon on weekday mornings at 7 AM, when children in the show's target demographic were most likely getting ready for school), the network still aired all of its episodes on Nick itself; the show was NEVER "booted to NickToons". In fact, here in America, the show's final 10 episodes (in other words, all but the first episode of season 4) didn't even air as re-runs on NickToons!
mr enter's message to seth mcfarlin is also pretty dickish just because he doesn't like seth's work it doesn't mean seth is obligated to stop writing comedies. i get that he's allowed to have opinions but the fact that he spits on anything with seth mcfarlin's name on it is ridiculous honestly. tho i do think it's funny how he's never talked about american dad or the Cleveland show, only family guy...
A former Mr. Enter fan speaking. I actually like old Mr. Enter better, though I would have appreciated this video so much in early 2020 when I did think that he was indeed improving a lot. Then it became clear how much of a hypocrite he is regarding his politics. He can express them, but he also has complained about celebrities making unwanted political statements and has even said that’s one of the worst cultural trends of the decade. ...Guess what he’s been doing more of lately? The point I left was when he made a Corona video that spread extremely dangerous and alarmist misinformation, and kept making excuses for himself after the fact. He’s also one of those Karens who refuses to wear a mask because freedom I guess. I’m an anti-authoritarian too, but it’s a goddamn mask, stop whining, John. Masks shouldn’t be a political issue, you anti-intellectual clown. I’m sorry, I’ve become disillusioned with him, and I really hope that no one listens to his politics.
I still somewhat like his reviews but I certainly like him a lot less after those videos, I mean for example, if he just generally supported a politician I didn't like, I wouldn't really care but him spreading misinformation is dangerous. He also uses bad examples, for example, he compared the lockdown to a study where the people in it were essentially in solitary confinement and were so board that they were shocking themselves. Now you could debate if the lockdown is really needed (provided people wear masks when they are out in public as well as socially distancing when possible) but solitary confinement is much worst than the lockdown. The guy obviously has an internet connection, with that, I don't understand how you could be bored, not to mention that music, movies, books and video games still exist. I know this lockdown has been bad for the mental health of many but it's nowhere near as bad as solitary confinement. Also, I've ironically been happier since I've been staying home, I have more time to focus on my hobbies now, I realize that not all people are like me though. He also thought that all schools should open back up, I had several college classes online last summer and I didn't do any worse on them by staying home, also if the kid is like below high school age, the parent should be ensuring that they are doing their work, if they are in high school or college and slacking, they were probably slacking at an actual school too. Also, it's not possible to socially distance in a school at full capacity, my high school had 30 desks crammed into small classrooms with everybody only being about two feet apart and the hallways were crowded shoulder to shoulder for 5 minutes between every class. Having school opened with those conditions is just a disaster waiting to happen, maybe still have them open for the occasional lab and maybe some special needs or students who can't afford an internet connection or laptop but the majority don't need to be going back. Also, even if kids deal with the virus better, they might bring it home to their grandparents, a sibling with an immune deficiency or something like that.
Matt Wolf Thank you! Your response was so well thought out and well put. Though online classes have been awful for me in terms of increasing workload, it’s still a terrible argument.
I gave him a chance untill his review on Rise of the TMNT. I'm 22 and currenty working on my animation and illustrations major at UCLA (art, theatre and tech university in LA) and that show's animation is absolutely stunning on every conceivable level. I can only imagine the time and dedication it takes to make the show look like the color porn, season one of One Punch Man quality of visuals and movement that each episode gives us. Mr Enter proved with that review he knows little to nothing about how animation, the cartoon industry, and just basically everything that has anything to do with the digital art medium works. I don't understand why he chose to evolve his entire channel around reviewing cartoons when he knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about this profession and what revolves around it, I mean I like Nintendo, but I'm not gonna make reviews or breakdowns discussing nintendo games when I know nothing about how the industry works

To sum up Mr. Enter: He does not understand how the angry reviewer gimmick works. His best reviews are those where he relies on it least.
eh. its more that in general hes not very good at comedy. it doesnt have to be when hes doing the 'pretend angry' thing- anytime the guy tries to go along with a joke for more than a few seconds it feels awkward and forced, and the full on skits he does are just painful. ex. the can opener bit with the totally spies review wouldve been funny if he didnt play it up as much as he did, & any time that grey beard guy shows up id try to skip it because its that bad
commentators like him work a lot better and are overall just funnier when they keep the comedy to one off snarky/dry remarks that maintain the pace. he HAS managed to make me laugh on many occasions when his jokes are like that, though i cant think of any instances off the bat cause its been a long time since ive watched him (his political views werent the worst but they gradually kept rubbing me the wrong way and i stopped)
i cant say i blame him too much for his voice being unfitting for the comedic style he sometimes tries? im autistic too and i have similar trouble with the way i talk making the jokes i try to tell sound awkward. its really fucking hard to get the hang of & it sucks cause in most other aspects i have a pretty good knack for comedic timing and effect. he could get speech therapy and study comedians a bit if he wants a more lighthearted commentary style but hes probably better off playing into his strengths
I think he's funniest when he's being sarcastic. Unlike Turkey Tom, he actually has vocal range.
That’s the thing, I don’t think “angry reviewer” is a gimmick with him. I think that’s actually just how he is. And yeah it’s not funny. I think he tried spinning it to be funny at one point, it didn’t really work so he just plays it straight now.
in his new videos, he admits he was unnecessarily angry the first time he reviewed the show
admittedly i won;t watch his videos where he reviews stuff i like. but i still enjoy his videos

That complaint is espically ironic since his favorite show Samurai Jack has plenty of slow moments
Did you mean to say there isn't movement every frame?

I think ya hit the nail on the head. The Asperger's section of the spectrum is a tricky mistress. I relate a lot to Mr. Enter in that way.
I forget the walking simulator he reviewed, but he went in-depth about this very thing. And I actually liked that review quite a bit.

Hey
Ur the one from Mr.Enter's Drawn Together video & Talking about the incident with the bill board & if that wasn't true That still would not be funny to me
@@kurinthekitty6842 no dumby, she'se not
I do agree in some instances-but in others like his review on My Life Me he is correct with saying to burn the animation with fire-the movement is cheap and stuff-although I would get those not in the know not getting what he is talking about cause the character designs are somewhat appealing to the eyes as they are based on manga and anime which is usually always appealing.

He is going to re-review Turtles.
I'm GENUINELY surprised you are 16 considering how well-spoken and considerate you are. Great job!
Actually Jorge’s original ending was to have Manny be a hero, plus also get with Frida and even die protecting her!
Still, you did the discussion on Enter’s review on _El Tigre_ sums up my frustration with his review
THEY HIT THE FUCKING PENTAGON
Wow. A Mr Enter video that talks about his current issues, is respectable, and insightful.
I didn't think it was possible.
Can we all agree that despite all of MrEnter's flaws, Star Giant is way worse in every way?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 exactly right ryan needs to be in jail like yesterday👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I mostly watch him to witness his character arc. Like old him I watched for the same reason someone would watch nostalgia critic today, but now he has evolved to such a degree that now it's the weirdest redemption arc i've ever seen
His Lion King review is both a review and like the final act for someone's character arc.
I'd call his 'present self' coming out of the shadows akin to a character with a lot of regrets letting go of them
Then he made his political videos.
@@wannabehistorian371 Oh that? That shit just makes it funnier to me so I am more invested in the plot.
Pachy The Pirate Good point lol.
I can only hope this is just a major setback in the story lol. Like a massive fall before the true redemption. As a former Mr. Enter fan, I really hope he does.
@@wannabehistorian371 A year later I would say he finally fully redeemed himself.
At least for me, in the last year he fixed every problem he had as a creator and found his old passion
His latest SpongeBob list is a testament of his growth
Honestly, I wish Mr. Enter would stop relying on Animation Reviews so much. As proven by his other types of video, the man is very analytical with a good eye for detail and with the ability to present a detailed, convincing argument. In some ways, him doing animation feels like a crutch.
@DJHart Would you please elaborate? I'm interested.
@DJHart Subjective's subjective I guess.
Update from 2022: Hes upset turning red didn’t have a 9/11 plot line
And sent out a massive twitter thread.
This needs an update now.
I haven't watched Mr. Enter for years and I'm not a fan of his content anymore, but it's good to see that he's at least improving. Kudos to him
More or less same.
It makes me more self conscious as an 18 year old :(
Technocracy is Enter at his peak, the way he managed to stay on topic on the TH-cam video, a subject he had a negative history and probably would suffer bias from, with shows that he can do great stuff when he puts his mind to it.
It seems kinda boring.
The kind of people to just FLAME the guy, whether be bringing up old drama or just brutally mocking his criticisms in an unfair manner, or just making some really, REALLY terrible accusations against him.
literally was working on a video talking about him lately but you brought up everything i wanted to mention
nice work!

It's really damn sad how this video now feels outdated since he clowned in front of a big crowd.

Some people get deeper voices at different ages. Some people aged 14 have a really deep voice.
Yeah I thought this guy was in his early 20s lol.
He's a Jojo character
Oh boy, This video needs a Update to talk about his Turning Red fiasco.
Seeing you give constructive feedback and actually giving tips and, hell, step-by-step instructions on how to do certain editing techniques was just awesome to see. I've been a casual fan of Enter for years now and I've seen my fair share of criticism videos on him. I think this is by far the best one. Great job.
Oh boy, Mr. Enter barely changed........if at all
Now he's taking legal action against star giant productions

I've been watching Mr. Enter on and off since like 2014, and this is definitely the best video anyone has ever made on him. Good job mate!
Who says that Just Stop should make another follow up video about Mr. Enter following the Turning Red 9/11 incident?
you know this comment is funny out of context
The 2022 Turning Red 9/11 Incident

No, because
1) The people making a big deal out of it are just as ridiculous
2) he already did that himself, TWICE
@Toxic Potato I have heard that he can be kind of a jerk though, and I hope he works on that.
Mr Enter is like the DSPGaming of Cartoons therefore I call him Phil
@@lukeeichenlaub3183 I think Enter is naturally really sarcastic and has trouble turning it off

Now that it’s post-2021, anyone seen his Turning Red review yet?
When a child in Canada isn’t thinking about 9/11 after a year it happened 🤬🤬🤬
Yeah, remembering 9/11 wasn't a thing on my mind as a second grade Canadian 🤨 like... Even now it's just mentioned on the news each year but that's kinda it.
“But 9/11 was a national tragedy.” ~ Norm Macdonald
I think he wanted the insane tv salivating parent archetype
THEY HIT THE PENTAGON MEI!!!
@ElectroChill Hex eh, i really enjoyed it. The animation and character designs are good and the characters grew on me.
What’s worse is after being informed that there were writers from previous TMNT incarnations he claimed he hated the show MORE
Mr. Enter defending his shitty review of Rise of the TMNT
I'm gonna level with you here.
@ElectroChill Hex It's Teenage Mutant _Ninja_ Turtles. The franchise was Japan-influenced from the get-go.
Doing the Nickelodeon marathon clearly left Mr.Enter bitter towards the end. Rise of the TMNT has fantastically animated action scenes, yet he couldn't see it.
THEY HIT THE PENTAGON!!!!
I have no idea what that TMNT show is... but it looks absolutely fire. That animation style is so dynamic, it’s something new to look at for an old property.
The whole thing on Stargiant productions has a whole different context now that they got fired.
And strech or cut out parts of the video? No thanks... unless you're talking another thing?
I'm a fan of Mr. Enter; I started watching him around the time he made a review on the Season 10 premiere of Fairly Oddparents, and I've always enjoyed him. But you gave good criticism, in good faith, and because of that I respect you. I expected this video to be another "bluh bluh his editing is shit, bluh bluh he insults writers, bluh bluh he's too angry," but you actually had good points to make, and you did it in such a way that shows that you actually care about seeing him improve and aren't just hating him because it's a bandwagon. Hats off to both you and Enter.
That review on The Fairly Oddparents’ season 10 premiere was also when I started watching his content.
Came back to this video after Enter said Turning Red was bad because it didn’t acknowledge 9/11.
I hope the next fnaf movie acknowledges unit 731

I really loved the "addressing criticism" video because people were basically sucking him off and pretending they never had an issue with him. People are snakes.
Do you think Pan Pizza and Saberspark at least showed some genuine concern for how they bashed him in the past? They commented there once the video uploaded fresh.
Welp...oops...might have aged poorly. lol Found this while I was looking up who he was with the recent twitter jazz.
Very nice, i am familiar with Mr. Enter and i was just watching your videos and i needed content to play games to and you uploaded this. Very good.
As a huge fan of Enter I’m glad to see someone look at his more recent stuff and respectfully critique him
The biggest issue I have at times with Enter, and this is purely because of how ADHD and other things like it work, is that when you lose interest in a topic you just straight up lose interest.
Here is the worst example of him doing this, taken from one of his DeviantArt posts:
"ChalkZone got better...not when it was on Nick. Only when it was booted to NickToons and lost its chance for a good impression."
Uh, Enter, did you do your freaking research?!? In fact, here in America, the show's final 10 episodes (in other words, all but the first episode of season 4) didn't even air as re-runs on NickToons!
mr enter's message to seth mcfarlin is also pretty dickish
just because he doesn't like seth's work it doesn't mean seth is obligated to stop writing comedies.
i get that he's allowed to have opinions but the fact that he spits on anything with seth mcfarlin's name on it is ridiculous honestly.
tho i do think it's funny how he's never talked about american dad or the Cleveland show, only family guy...
Fast forward 2 years and he's back to his insanity.
He just goes back and forth in a cycle
Masks shouldn't be a political issue, but, when politicians mandate them, they become political.
@@sebastianlucas704 In that case they're political, but also necessary.
@@CrazyRiverOtter Not really necessary. You average mask does so little against covid, as to be nearly useless.
While that animation style really isn't my cup of tea, calling it shit was too far man.
Apart from the fight scenes, it looked pretty meh to me.
The mysterious case of what happened to this video
