I remember you stopped the series to focus on the totk series (another amazing series!) but I now see you never went back to posting Minecraft
When you find lava, use a water bucket and mine the obsidian. When you find red stone, diamonds are often nearby.

Mob that burn in the day won't burn if they are in water. Skeleton are smart and when they start to burn they seek the closest water source.

Tip: mine a little higher because you are at the bottom of the world. More diamonds spawn if you mine a little more up.
in the lava cave where you saw the water, there was obsidian there too
i think john despawned
tip: diamonds are found around lava when your deep enough to start finding them

Yo place carpet on your fences so you can get in and out with easy. Oh and don't worry about your animal get out ok l.
