I haven't made lasagna in ages, I just keep buying frozen ones at walmart. But my kids aunt when she was married to her 1st husband would make it and one side was with ricotta cheese, the other side was cottage cheese, her husband didn't like ricotta cheese , I liked it both ways

That's my son's favorite meal next to b.b.q ribs. I make it the same as you and I also don't waste anything. The only thing is I use ground beef and I use ragu sauce my son loves marinara sauce maybe I will try it next time we make it. OMG now I want some so bad!!!

You can use "any" lasagna noodles (not just oven ready), as long as you have plenty of sauce.
