My oldest brother was a pilot for UPS, flying all over the world. It finally dawned on me about a year ago to wonder about the potential for professional watercolors made in other countries that maybe I was not aware of. I did a google search and found information on Rosa which was quite significant for me as my brother just happened to be in Ukraine at that moment. I sent him a text message and asked if he had time and happened by an art supply store if he could pick me up a few of them to try out. Less than an hour later I received a text message back along with a picture of 68 tubes of Rosa watercolors. He had immediately run out and purchased for me every color they had in the store. I don't recall the exact price per tube now, but in US dollars the total cost to him was approximately 120.00 for 68 10ml tubes. I have sincerely enjoyed using the Rosa watercolors and I would definitely recommend them. I pray for the people of Ukraine that they will survive the horrible invasion by Russia they are fighting against at this time.
😯 You are blessed with a great big brother. I have had a hard time getting a few of their tube paints, that are always sold out or the shipping is expensive.
On the German Amazon There is Rosa Gallerie in metal cases 12, 21, 28 cuvettes, also 14 pieces in 10ml tubes in a wooden case, from 7 Artists supplier. Now in the same place on Amazon there is a Rosa Gallerie set of 21 single-pigment paints. I recently managed to order a Rosa Gallerie classic 28 pieces in a metal case on Amazon. The watercolors by Rosa Gallerie are really of very good professional quality. I really like these colors.
Oh god, I got a tube of Rosa Gallery for free when I ordered a large order of open stock white nights on Etsy. The seller no longer has any listings, sadly. But I absolutely loved the one tube I got of English red. It quickly became my favorite. I haven’t tried the pans yet but I am more than impressed with the quality of the tube. It’s such a nice color. And I personally don’t sell artwork so I’m not worried about lightfastness ratings. I only care about what looks good now and not for the long term so I happily use whatever I think looks great and I was happily surprised with Rosa. I appreciate the review and I just threw a Rosa palette in my cart. Thanks for the excellent review!

Thanks for this review! I have recently bought both rosa( monopigmented set (21 pans)) and white nights(48 pan set) and honestly what I have found on different papers especially cotton the Rosa's are much more vibrant and a bit easier to use. They don't get as goopy as w/n and I feel you don't use as much paint either. Rosa's are much cheaper too. But I do enjoy both paints though. But I definitely think roman szmals are better quality than w/n. I wish I knew about Rosa's at the beginning of my love of watercolors thought. But regardless I would have wanted to try other brands anyway lol don't we all? Have a great day
i discovered rosa several months ago from frugal crafter video- can paints this cheap be any good/ and yes they are. i have bought them off amazon and etsy. and with this video i am going to get another set! i have had a yarka set for 20 years and thought they were good. i also got a white nights but prefer rosa in performance
Thank you for the review. The Rosa 28 Classic set is $49 and the Winsor Newton Cotman 45 half pan set with 5 duplicates is over $ 60. Will definitely be going with Rosa Gallery.
@@Nattosoup I did a search and all of their colors such as Magenta Rose, Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Violet etc can be purchased on Rusart . It’s a Canadian website. The Etsy seller is out of a lot of these colors most of the time. Rusart does ship to USA 🇺🇸 and accepts PayPal. Hope this helps.
That's really cool! Hopefully it makes the palette even more accessible to people! I hope this brand can increase in popularity and exposure without increasing too much in cost!
maybe it's the climate, but i would guess, not completely dried paint (lower red and blue bands look like quite OK), it does layer well, actually that is the way to paint with these paints, since first layer usualy sinks (depending on paper) and colours become bleak, not that intense, but later layer gets really really vibrant. guess in this regard, these paints are closer to sennelier (not saying they are the same, that would be wrong).
Which would you say are better Rosa Gallery or Roman Szmal? I wanted to get Szmal but the only store in UK is Jacksons and the cost twice as much as Rosa Great video thank you.
Rosa Gallery is the professional line, they also have a student line :)) also your pronounciation of Szmal is almost right- it's "shm"(you make a right sound!
I know you mostly want to review new stuff, but you didn't do this kinda review with these tests for the kuretake gansai tambi right? Would love to see that!
Thanks for the first impressions. I do like the form of their pans, which is unusual with the "rounded" edges. So far I only got to try those from the tubes and they performed very well for me. The company is very nice and communicative, I had very nice chats with them and they claim the paints to be vegan, which is nice too.
I feel like these will go up in price--and I'm tempted to get the 24 set for $28 in the cardboard box and add a magenta rose...but I have white nightsssss!! Ughhh...🤣
Nice to see an unboxing and swatch of the Rosa. I've had my eye on these paints, but haven't pulled the trigger. I keep wondering if I would prefer the White Knights. Your video has been helpful.
Hi Becca, Love your channel, your amazing creations and your very informative reviews, Thanks for your hard work and love for watercolor 🌹🙋♀️❤️ one question dear would you recommend this Rosa paints for beginners better than the MaiLiang? Thanks so much, waiting for your recommendation so I can place my order ❤️❤️
I really like the look of these, but since I do a lot of florals I am considering their botanical set, however it does include a white which I probably would not get. In your opinion, what lower cost of professional watercolor set would you prefer for a beginner/almost intermediate colorist? I don't see the Roman szmals watercolor in Amazon right now.
On German Amazon 7 Artists there is a Posa Gallerie set, artistic Botanical watercolors 28 jars of vibrant colors, high quality artistic watercolors in a multi-purpose metal box with mixing palette, artistic watercolor box, watercolor paint box

Fantastic value. What a nice brother! I hope more becomes available very soon! I'm envious. 68 colours. Brill!

I have the Botanical set by Rosa and it’s just great. no problem with drying and layering at all
Oh man, I really like the tin and the colours. I have the White Nights but I wouldn't mind getting them for those large pans.
Insightful video Becca! I'd love a White Nights and Roman Szmal comparison!!!
Thanks, Liz! I'll start diggin for that palette!
@@Nattosoup Awesome! No problem! Take your time and do it whenever you can since I know you're in an evacuation! 😊

I have also bought a smaller pan set in a tin, of all places, on Walmart website.

Hi from Thibodaux, Louisiana! Going get these paints NOW!!! Thanks for sharing!

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Jackson Pollack was drunk AF 🥃 🍻 too. Rest his soul. That's how he died. Along with a passenger..😢 Thanks for the laugh on his process. 🎨

The Roman Szmal brand is made in Poland.
