I am a die hard TR fan and have been since I was a little girl. I remember I was 5 years old and I would sit with my mum and watch her play on my little PS1 that I got when I was 4 years old and oh my god it was great. Ever since then I have played each game and have finished ever single one. I have to confess that I loved the old Lara so much more than I do the new one. The new Lara just isn't the same. She is weak and nothing like I would have imagined Lara to be when she was younger. The old Lara I looked up to as a role model. She was a strong woman who did things by her rule book and I wanted to be like her. I still do! I want to be that strong independent woman and that was something the new game did not deliver for me. I still love Lara though and I hope that future games will be better than the newest reboot and take us back to some of the classic times with Lara. If not I will still play them...though I fear that I may eventually slip back to the old games and just play them over and over again.
Lara Croft is my favourite game and I grew up with her and her adventure games.While playing and listening to the main soundtracks makes me have some weird feelings about her. I remember that when I was younger I believed that she was a woman in real life.Too bad she is not.My dad grew those feelings to me for Lara,he learnt me how to play and I was next to him,watching him playing till midnight.I have finished most of her games(the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,Legend)but I have stuck at the game ''The Angel Of Darkness''(and i believe that this is the best and the most diffucult) Thanks to everyone who made such a nice videogame... I grew up with the TR series too and to be honest I like her look in AOD the best. It was my favorite as well since it was the only tomb raider I could beat without help. My siblings and I worked as a team back then figuring things out together when we got stuck. I gotta admit although I didn't like the CD versions as it really didn't provide any challenge compared to the old games. I'm hoping the recent version of Lara will grow to resemble the one from the originals.

The game plays it out like its her first time by herself. All the notes and documets in the game hint at it. She wasnt prepared for a battle, she didnt even have her guns. You cant have an old mature lara on her first mission that would be dumb. She had to start somewhere.
DandTprod Something is missing from the Tomb Raider reboot. I liked the game, but it feels weird for some unexplainable reason. I'd give it at most an 8.75.

That old music brought back a lot of good childhood memories, I loved Lara when I was a kid! It's amazing to see how far she has come! Amazing! I'm glad to see the new game hasn't strayed away from the supernatural theme it began with. Lara Croft is a reason I am proud to be British!
I really like the latest version of lara. They made it more realistic.. her body is more realistic not those boobs whos even bigger than a balloon.. just normally shaped boobs. Her emotions are more realistic. Her hair is beautifull and her face?? Wow she became really pretty
I always liked the Core Design developers more than Crystal Dynamics , i mean alot has changed since 1996 but they seemed to keep a sence of the trueness to the games along the way. Me personaly , i think the first three were masterpeices even though i find the most recent ones a step in a new generational direction as well as Camilla Luddington is a great profile for the new Laura. I do look foward to the future on Crystal Dynamics and what they will bring to us.

Man. People will probably say i don't know crap since im only 11 , but actually i grew up on tomb raider. I miss it. Tomb raider 1-3 got me into gaming. And honestly, i haven't found many games better then them
The ones I've never played were 1, 3 and Underworld. I played and finished the rest. I love the challenges of the classics, but I love how Lara became beautiful with better graphics, and the landscapes too. I wish they had continued the Egypt story after Angel of Darkness.
It got tear in my eye to see how we all grew up on her,she is an embodiment of class,sophistication,good morals and courage and i can't wait to play the new tomb raider,it's time for Lara Croft's origins:)

The other themes, just conveyed that "general-and-non-especifc-idea-of-grandeur" that every block-buster or epic game has...

Trying to survive in such a place with limited resources and possible competition from rivals is what Tomb Raider is about. I must say the first 4 games did an excellent job trying to stick to the theme, though TR3 involved relatively less tombs.

You realize that just because someone has a different opinion, it doesn't mean they're not a fan, right? You can think one is better than the others. Not all Lara's are the same Lara. TR2013 shows how that specific Lara became someone who was broken & had to put herself back together in an unfamiliar & hostile environment in order to survive, thus becoming the bad ass adventurer we love, where as, let's say TRL Lara, became the adventurer she is (presumably) because of her mothers disappearance.
I fucking love the new tomb raider 2013. One of the best games ive ever played in my entire life and thats in all seriousness. Great story. Great characters. Great weapons. Great enemys. Great Lara. Just so enjoyable and well worth every penny. A story that can be enoyed and played over and over again! Love it! Bring on the next one!!!
The new tomb raider seems to be a really great game with a great story that previous tomb raider games lacked. Tomb Raider had to evolve to stay relevant in this economy. Uncharted took what the old tomb raiders did and made it more realistic and gave the main character a personality with a supporting cast. Reboot tomb raider is turning lara into a relatable character, multiplayer is just an added bonus and dlc is not exclusive like underworlds dlc was. I'm really excited for this new take on TR
i own the first game only lol .. what i really loved about it was the loneliness: you only hear her footsteps and the creppy soundtrack most of the time.. I was 7 or 8 years old at the time and it made me a little scared

Tomb Raider just arrived today (and the OST) and I'm really excited to play it, but I have to wait until the weekend (deadlines... *sigh*) but I love this evolution. I wasn't going to play Tomb Raider, but I played all the others and not playing this one didn't feel right. I've got to say that I'm so glad Lara is a proper action hero - she was a big influence for me growing up, to be honest.
first game ive played on ps1 :) in the age of 6 years (2003) Ive played now all TR parts incept of legend and i have to say the best ones are TR III and the remake of all ps1 TRs (Anniversary)
Well, Square Enix has many of the same people who worked on Uncharted in their team. Both games are action/adventure games that focus on treasure hunting/ tomb-raiding (in a way). Both games contain platforming elements that are great. I love both franchises to death, but if it came to a decision of purchasing another Uncharted or Tomb Raider, I'd have to see what trouble Lara is causing. I grew up playing the originals and never beating them lol. Many frustrated hours playing, but I loved them
Very good Lara video! Well done! (Liked how the music changed too with every game). Just a short story: I had played TR 2&3 and had bought "Last Revelation" but had not played it yet. I was playing other games and my wife played "Last Revelation". I helped her through some hard parts and was watching the game progress. When she reached the end and I saw that Eidos basically tried to kill Lara off, I could not believe it! To play a game all the way through to have THAT ending! Then they put out "Chronicles" to back up the idea that Lara had died. To this day, I still hate Eidos for doing that and STILL have not played "Last Revelation". As we all know, Lara is alive and doing very well. Thank God! LoL! I do own and enjoy AOD, Legend, Underworld, and 2013.
If you like Tomb Raider, Try Uncharted 1,2 and 3 . They are basically games with a male Lara, his name is Nate Drake, and he is trying to find out about his hidden past, about Sir Francis Drake. Its a really good series of games and im addicted!
That's the whole point...personally, I really like the new Lara. She feels much more human and identifiable. Fans should be thanking Crystal Dynamics for making Tomb Raider relevant again.
True, but it seems to me the team is taking it in that direction, making it more of a cinematic exprience rather than just any ordinary video game. I think the reason why is because in the trailer you see Lara climbing something (I don't know what it is), but it looks very similar to the first level of Uncharted 2 where you're having to climb this train in order to get to level ground.
I'm a big fan of Tomb Raider When i first got TR3 I was before 10 years old and I didn't know what was going on and who was Lara but the game was amazing till I wasn't allowed to save the game and lost everything Oh well LOL When i got Legend I got a better understanding of Lara Croft and the big picture of her and Tomb Raider. I watched the movies played the games and watched walkthroughs of the games i haven't played. The Reboot was amazing to me and I can't wait to see more. Lara Croft FTW!
Uncharted enemies even though they use ladders to get to places, they still managed to move around even up a flight of stairs, where as TRL's AI system has the enemies standing on the spot giving players the opportunity to take pot shots at them. That's 2 things Uncharted got right. The number of frames and a fairly intelligent AI system that comes to hunt you down. TRL, npc's regularly glitch out and find it difficult to climb a flight of stairs.

I'm 13 :D I was with my sister,I had my pc... it broke... But now I have an Intel Mac and I can play all tr,I finished 2,4,5,6,Legend and Underworld

tomb raider 4 the best!... It is the best and for me the hardest.
Lara Croft II was my first game. Even now that i'm 20 i still loving all the games of her.

I loved the first 5 games. The first one really stood out from other PS1 games that were out at the time and it was well ahead of its time.

TR Legend is da best IMO. Underworld is actually way overboard with puzzles but what really got me through is how stunning Ms. Croft is in it

i have played/watched 1-chronicles, legend, and by far 2 and chronicles were my favs

If you like Tomb Raider, Try Uncharted 1,2 and 3 . They are basically games with a male Lara, his name is Nate Drake, and he is trying to find out about his hidden past, about Sir Francis Drake. Its a really good series of games and im addicted!
That's the whole point...personally, I really like the new Lara. She feels much more human and identifiable. Fans should be thanking Crystal Dynamics for making Tomb Raider relevant again.

True, but it seems to me the team is taking it in that direction, making it more of a cinematic exprience rather than just any ordinary video game. I think the reason why is because in the trailer you see Lara climbing something (I don't know what it is), but it looks very similar to the first level of Uncharted 2 where you're having to climb this train in order to get to level ground.

I'm a big fan of Tomb Raider When i first got TR3 I was before 10 years old and I didn't know what was going on and who was Lara but the game was amazing till I wasn't allowed to save the game and lost everything Oh well LOL When i got Legend I got a better understanding of Lara Croft and the big picture of her and Tomb Raider. I watched the movies played the games and watched walkthroughs of the games i haven't played. The Reboot was amazing to me and I can't wait to see more. Lara Croft FTW!

Uncharted enemies even though they use ladders to get to places, they still managed to move around even up a flight of stairs, where as TRL's AI system has the enemies standing on the spot giving players the opportunity to take pot shots at them. That's 2 things Uncharted got right. The number of frames and a fairly intelligent AI system that comes to hunt you down. TRL, npc's regularly glitch out and find it difficult to climb a flight of stairs.
It just goes to show you CG sure has come a looooooong way.~ x)
She herself has changed greatly and we remember her changes here today... but she also changed her weapon choice..
