Toyota Yaris Key Fob Battery Replacement - EASY DIY

In this video I'm showing you how to replace the 2025 dead or weak battery in your Toyota key fob. This specific one I'm showing you is out of a Yaris. You need a flat blade screwdriver and your replacement battery.
The first step is to slide out your emergency key. Once that is done, take your screwdriver and prop off either side towards the end. At that point, you're able to stick your screwdriver in the middle and pry off the back half.

Thank you for this awesome info. My wife's key fob was not working and she was getting frustrated. I tried to go to the dealership to get the key fob replaced but they wanted to charge me $50 for a replacement. Thank god for your video. I bought the battery through your link and it cost me a whopping $3.50 to fix the key fob. You rock brother!

Praise this guy. I’m a complete dumbass when it comes to cars. This video and
$2 saved me from being a chump and going to a mechanic/Toyota dealer! They probably would have charged me to replace the whole fob! Got a 2-pack of the battery and will keep it in my car now just in case.

Hey thanks for this I'm going to have to try it today... So if your car is sluggish to turn on and off does that mean you need a new battery on the keys? I'm hoping that's the only problem!! Thanks!
That seems more like the battery on the car. Although, changing out the battery in your fob is a cheap alternative to test before getting the large car battery.
When do you know when the battery is low? What does the small red light at the top left mean if it flashes when I unlock my doors for example does it mean the battery is dying?
It normally flashes when sending a signal. However, after replacing the battery today, I noticed that is much brighter, so if that is dim, that’s a good indicator it’s time to change it.
Also the reason why I changed mine is that I would have to press it like 20 or 30 times to get it to work.
