ONLY FOR MAC USERS!!! : Don't buy this monitor, display-port doesn't work properly, they have issues with that , if you don't trust me, google it: "stuck in power save mode" , i've tried with expensive cables, "original and certified" and didn't work.

Does this monitor have ghosting? if so does he have that kind of ghosting that in dark scenes he gets a greenish blur? I'm going to use version 19 but seeing version 17 already to have a good concept , will i use primarily in games value more for image quality than for game performance so does it have good picture quality good shades of black? But what I want to know is primarily The issue of trailing or ghosting whatever you want to call it.

To the laptop.
If you're using the USB up/down stream cable, you can connect to monitor. If not, it'll be the the computer. (sorry for the late reply!)

They could have just included HDMI and dp cable why the vga? The newer ones which are MY18 and above comes only with dp cable with is a downside to some cause most people are likely to use hdmi

Panel is probably the same, the only difference is physical and newer model in general. Thinner bezzels and smaller base stand. I would go for P2419H if you can afford it.
how's is the readability without any scaling on this monitor?

Not sure why scaling would be an issue for a 1080p monitor at this size. If it was 4k it probably might be an issue but 1080p at 24" is pretty much standard.

I do use it for games when I got for LAN parties and it works great for me. But if you're a serious gamer it might not be good for you. Just depends how picky you are with input lag.

Hi James - this is a really good video but it hasn't quite answered all my questions! I'm connecting a MacBook 12 inch retina (2106) to this Dell P2417H monitor and can't work out how to switch camera from MacBook to monitor. I'm connected with HDMI and USB cables and the screen mirrors fine. Does this monitor have a built in camera? If yes, can you please tell me how I switch the camera from MacBook to monitor? Really hoping you can help! Thanks
Hi Marcie, unfortunately this monitor does NOT have a built in camera. In fact most monitors dont include one.
Someone please explain me what's the point of all these USB-A and USB-B ports? I checked the instructions in Dell site, but could not find information.
Update: You connect the USB-A to USB-B cable with the same computer, where the display source is, then all other USB-A ports can be used as hub, upgrading cable management on the desk to a whole new level. Also very useful to have USB ports on close and not going through the "cables cave" behind the PC. Hope this helps someone.

Because I don't the extent of your sensitive eyes it's hard to say. For me they're fine, but I don't struggle with what you do. Best is to try a monitor first if that's the case.

It's not bad, however if you have a bit more money and want a better looking display, go for the Ultrasharp version (U2417H or the current U2419H)

"not great, not terrible" but for colour grading you'd really be wanting to look at the Ultrasharp series defined for colour accuracy.

This is the worst monitor I've ever had. I've had 3 warranty replacements (dull screen, dead pixels, refresh rate problems) and now it's the button plate that opens and loads the menus by itself. DELL never again!

Hi, i hope you could give some advice.. I'm contemplating between the SE2419H, P2419H and U2415.
I'll be using the monitor mostly for netflix and youtube, with some reading/microsoft words typing. I don't really play games and already have a nice set of speakers.
For multimedia purposes which would you recommend? I like the P series because of it's stand, and they say the U series is sharper but is it worth the extra 120USD from the Pseries?
this is the price difference of the 3monitors in my country :
S:120USD
P: 200USD
S:300UD
P is best for your needs. However if you're on a tight budget, S is also good enough. P has the IPS display which makes it worth above the S.
James Chia But i read that the SE2419H also has an ips panel right? and i read reviews stating that the P model has more IPS glow than the S model. The only main difference is the colour accuracy. But for general movies and youtube colour accuracy isnt important as i dont do any photo or video editting right? ty for the reply ! :)

It's IPS display makes it quite good for video editing, however don't expect amazing colour accuracy. For that you should get the ultrasharp

Hi don't know how active this section is, but I've just bought two of these screens but am having trouble connecting them to my laptop to make a three screen set up... My laptop only has a hdmi port and usb. I'm slightly confused with regards on how to use docking ports or display hubs. My budget for any hardware is like 100£. Please any help would be greatly appreciated
Without knowing what laptop you have it's hard to give advice.

You need a docking station. Check google which docking station fits your laptop.
After 2 years it detects no signal and control panel doesn't work. Just 5 days after 2 year warranty.
Otherwise, it is really nice monitor with good picture.

Unfortunately not. There's no 3.5mm output on it. You can probably use a USB speaker but you'll need to run a USB A cable as well, not sure if that's what you had in mind.

Get the Dell 100%. However if you really wanted a 27" monitor then yea. But the quality and longevity will be the Dell. I never trust Samsung monitors personally.

But if you're going to spend that much money on the Samsung, get the Dell U2417/8H. Much better colour accuracy than the P series. Or you can get the P2717H
Yep I've got a Dell that I use in portrait all the time. I have edited photos in lightroom in protrait before and it is nice, however it can be annoying if you're alternating between portrait and landscape, but you will need an IPS if you wanted to do protrait for sure. But yea dell monitors are great :)
The S27F350F and the Dell P2417H are the exact same price in my country. The P2717H is way more expensive and the U2417 is not available. So basically I have the two options only (Samsung S27F350F/ Dell P2417H). I can't decide if I will need the portrait mode more or the 27" screen...
