The point was I thought it was cool my mom noticed this -- people too often associate rock musicians with rhythm and classical musicians with "tuning" ;)
My friend Mark and I were at Alexander Palace in 1977 when Fred announced this was the new single. It was so loud our ears were ringing for 3 days afterwards. I wish there was some footage of that concert. Can't find it anywhere just like my friend who I lost contact with but learnt he had passed away.This song always reminds me of him.
Sad, but maybe you haven't lost your friend, at least not forever. Or Freddie's singing... Others, including myself have searched, and found interesting answers. But note that Brian is playing piano for most of this song. He is a less exuberant player, but has a very delicate and nuanced style.
