The fact that I can pick one up at Walmart without getting into a contract for $139 is a steal. And it’s about 85% of an S23 FE. Along with the ability to unlock after 60 days of service. Other MVNOs wouldn’t allow it until a year later.

A 54 5 G will get the same number of UI up dater as the fe. Both will get 4 and both will receive 5 years of security updates, no difference. The s2 fe is a tad better but if you don't need the extra features of wireless charging, dex and you don't take pictures for for social media that must be the best in the world, go with the A54 and save yourself a possible $300. I got it brand new from Samsung factory unlocked for $225. I wouldn't pay $449 but for $225 or for free with some carrier deals, it's the best for the price(if you don't need the flagship features of dex and wireless charging and the slightly better camera).
i switched from a52s to a54 camera much better. battery better too and performance almost same speaker better, and some flagship features added to software there, especially on gallery
Samsung phones always lag on startup and do that with the clock, i hope it gets fixed soon even if it makes boot time longer

I think Samsung stopped selling the 8gb A54 models on their website as to not cannibalize sales of the S23 FE.
S23FE is still more powerful even if the A54 has 12gb of ram or more
