  • Replacing the daytime running light on a Fiat 500X is easy. I'll show you everything you need to know, and you'll have it done in 5 minutes.
    The bulb you need is a 7528.
    The power seat had stopped working on this particular vehicle, and for whatever reason, it started working again after replacing the daytime running light. If your power seat stopped working and it magically starts working after replacing the driver's side DTRL, comment and let me know!

    Thanks Matt! This was a big help, and your video is way more professional than the ones I've done. My wife has been driving around for a year with a burned out DRL because I've been too lazy to fix it. This makes it look easy peasy.

    Great job!!! Thank you! This simple video made an easy job easy.
    I will note that on my car, the bulb was 7506 and not 7528. 7506 is single filament/contact and the 7528 is dual filament/contact.
    I would have pulled the bulb first but the car wasn't here. Strangely, the lookup on the computer at the store showed 7528.
    Small matter, two trips but job done easily!

    • @sdeliasr

      @@r335 If my memory is correct, it was the difference between single filament vs. dual filament. Probably won't work.

    Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I hadn't noticed the little door in front of the wheel, so I put this off for weeks. Mine was a single filament bulb as other commenters have said. 1057SL??? I haven't been able to find that one. I'm a packrat, found a bulb in a drawer that worked. It didn't even have a number, probably a knock-off of 1157. I think a P21 will work also.
    Thanks again, great video, pretty much right to the point!

    Just did it (mostly by feel after the panel was removed-with your directions I visualized it while looking at the bulb from the outside) for $8 and change. Thx! And with wheel on...turned inward worked best for me.

    Matt let me say your the man you've helped me exponentially in my LED conversion journey I'm trying to find CANbus lights that won't cause an issue Sylvanias will cause a ghost light in these cars meaning plug it in and it stays on indefinitely without a resistor which i would not Install on those skinny wires. But I need your help due to the lack of tutorials on this car I mean total lack i need you to help me figure out how to replace the interior rear push button lights I don't wanna break them or lose a spring so far I have headlights luggage compartment dome light fog lights all done just waiting on DRLs and this rear interior light. I know this is a long comment thx

    • @MattLudwick
      @MattLudwick  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Man, you're already ahead of me. I haven't bothered trying to change anything to LED because of the canbus system. Just isn't worth the time to me, and this is my wife's car.

    • @housebaelishgaming
      @housebaelishgaming 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MattLudwick so I've figured out the rear handle must be totally removed by popping off the two square covers on them and pulling the covers towards you till the handle clips pop loose thus removing the handle then you take the lense off and remove the bulbs. For the canbus system the headlights i used for foglights and headlights were the auxito brand headlights on Amazon with resistors built in. To access the foglights you already know how to do that. For the dome light you pry at the front of the dome cover with amazing force till it pops loose remove the whole assembly by simply unplugging the wiring harnesses connected to the dome then put your leds in. (Only pry from the front of the dome not the rear aka the windshield side). You can also pop the covers off the courtesy lights underneath the door (be careful placing the lenses back in as they are super sensitive they should just glide in of there's resistance reposition and reattempt). For the luggage compartment same thing pop it out put new bulb replace. There are obvious slots in the aforementioned lenses from which to pry. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE TO ALL OF THIS is all interior leds will remain slightly on and dim when the car is off the good news however is it does not harm your battery for the simple reason that because there is a constant current running to these lights to alert the driver of any bulb outtages that current was not enough to illuminate the original ugly halogen bulbs but it WILL be enough to slightly illuminate the new sexy LEDS. The End

    Would think it would be to the right ... is there a back cap to keep out moisture? Does the holding mechanism twist like the headlamps? The midsection showing the replacement would be nice too.

    • @MattLudwick
      @MattLudwick  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It twists out. I think I mentioned that in the video. That keeps out moisture. But yeah, I spent almost no time on this. Just wanted to try and help everyone out!

    Couple of questions,
    So it’s possible to replace bulb with tire on and also how to take off the hub cap? Thanks again, appreciate it!

    • @MattLudwick
      @MattLudwick  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, you can do it with the wheel on. I ended up taking it off because I couldn't show the inside of the fender with the wheel on.
      To get the lug nut and hub cover off, you can just use a little pick or screwdriver to pry it out. It just clicks into place, so you don't need to be too worried about breaking anything. Just be careful to not scratch up your wheel!

    Silly little plastic holders instead of proper screws to hold the access flap on.
    Once you take off silly plastic type screw you have to get new ones other wise they Dont. Hold the access flap on properly and spray of the Tyre gets into the electrics.
    Poor design.
