      @@soupysocks7135 oh it’s legal, but you have to make sure the people who are lined up on the line are where they are supposed to be, as well as the ones who are off! It’s pretty hard to do on the spot so you KNOW they practiced it. I love this play and we had the best snapper for it. God I miss tackle football.

    I didn't know you could "snap" the ball without passing it between the legs of the center. I'll be a ton of players and coaches don't know that, too.

    • @AEMoreira81

      It's not that you can't, it's just not wise to do it differently (considering you gotta block immediately right after you snap the ball).

      @@dc_rubberduck6970 yeah my hs team does something similar to this formation except they split the line on both sides instead of having them all on one side. that way they can either have the qb take it up the middle, have him roll out right or left for a pass, or just have the center pitch to either side to one of the rb’s that’s sitting behind the lineman

      @dirtdiv3r 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No not really actually. This was the perfect time to pull out a trick play. People call coaches dumb when they try trick plays when it's not advantageous. In this scenario, they still need 4 yards to TD, it's not like they are 1-2 yards away and can just push a guy over the line. They are deep in Minnesota territory so if the play fails, Minnesota is in terrible field position. And Iowa is already up 7 points. If they get the TD, that's obviously best case scenario. If they fail to get it on 4th down, Minnesota has to play from the 4-yard line and Iowa is still up a whole score.
      No-brainer time for a trick play.
