You are being too hard on yourself! I think it looks great and there is always something not quite right when getting the stickers on! It will will look fantastic in the cabinet and I am sure something that will bring you many smiles over the years to come!
That looks awsome Glenn, there’s nothing better than building a rep of the car/cars you had back in the day. Ive done a few like that and love every one of them.
I found my old TC4 in my mums garage from 2002 that I obviously used to race back then, I have never felt such nostalgia in my life :D as i thought it was long gone.
The Mondeo looks awesome Glen..the only thing which iam surprised you didn't comment on was the green bleeding through the fist hammer spanner decals on the side of the car..👍🇬🇧😎
G'day Glenn wow that turned out awesome mate your TC would of looked hot as back in the day. Yeah I had my own TC race colours still have my TRF416 with my custom race livery on display. Still my favourite is the legends lunch box you done and gave away I still want one for my collection I loved that Lunch box I was so bummed that I didn't win it lol. Cool as video mate 👍 👍
Youve now inspired me to obtain a HPI RS4 Sport with a purple HPI Ford Cougar 200mm shell from the very early 2000s. I bought it second hand to replace my TL01 I was racing at the time. Never won anything with it but I tried haha
You've done a great job of that Mondeo, it looks really, really good! L&L Models do some awesome bodyshells, I had a Rover SD1 for part of last year, painted it gold with black bumpers and a black rear spoiler, and despite the rough paint job it looked good, got a lot of great comments at my local club where I raced it! Excellent video as always!!
Hi Glenn great looking car, it’s a must to have one of your favourite race cars in a collection to bring back happy memories. I’m trying to do the same. You need things around you that bring a smile on your face. Best wishes
The car looks great Glenn, really great! I want to do the Volvo 850 estate touring car from that era. L and L do it so if you fancy giving it a go on your channel then I can copy you! Joking! I think I almost perfect on road cars to buggies.
Looks great Glenn. I've actually seen the Mondeo touring car racing for real in the mid 90s. Even got to sit in Paul Radishic's at Oulton Park in Cheshire. A bit of a tip for spraying splitters etc, is to actually cut out the protective film from and spray them on the outside. You end up with a satin finish and it saves on the masking too. 👍
I think its spot on Glenn looks real nice! I like the idea of no body posts! The magnet idea is a good way to go. I just bought some BHM decals from L&L they are great! Super quick delivery! I love the fact that you've done a replica of a car you raced it's a really special thing to do! Nostalgia hit right there mate! I plan to do a replica of my Boomerang l raced back in the day with its Parma shell etc one day! It was not really a pretty looking thing at all but that doesn't matter. I would love to see it again in front of me how cool that would be. Definitely on my list to do! Entertaining as always my friend. Cheers James.
Hey Glen. In regards to painting the black trim in the bodies….I don’t think masking out an entire body is worth it for that little section of black. I started spraying from the outside. Use the overspray film as your mask and then I spray my black. Then I put a coat of flat clear over it. Saves so much time!
As with 99.9% of your builds / bodyshells Glenn I love it 👍, Got me thinking about the Renault Laguna and other touring car bodies as well. I'm thinking my next TC body will definitely be a 90's/ 00's 👊👍👍
Turned out looking good in the end there Glenn. It's amazing how much self doubt goes into a model. I think the colours looked better in the final shot, perhaps the lighting worked better from that angle. Cameras are funny things, they base what they see on an internal light meter/setting where it sets a point where it measures the light level from and hence all the other settings for a shot. Higher level hobbyists and professionals use to carry a seperate more accurate light meter for setting up their shots/film. Not sure if they still do or not.
Harry where did you say your driver is from?? Eagle Run.. that’s up around wilksbarre isn’t it?? No Glenndale, uh California.. so he’s a Yankee?? No when you’re from California you’re not really anything.. 😎 Love the days of Thunder paint job on this.. matches your semi 😁 happy Sunday Glenn
Opinion. I'm looking for a new 1/10 road car shell , I have 3 hpi shells but have no experience with tamiya shells or l&l. So in everyone's opinion who makes the better most scaled to realism shell's.
Tamiya shells are best most of the time. Hpi is a close 2nd. L&l shells were sometimes pretty horrendous in the past, but it seems that they improved the quality. But there are still so many more manufacturers out which are worth trying out. Killerbody, mst for example also make awesome shells.
If they do it Tamiya are consistently the best. Killerbody are great, especially with their extra details matching Tamiya but a limited range. ABC Hobby bodies look even better than Tamiya, but they do require a lot more work to get them looking good as all their extra details like light buckets and bumpers are vac formed rather than moulded plastic, but some of their older bodies are lacking in detail. Matrixline are great but they have a very limited range. Pandora make great shells but they are all for drift chassis they tend to have exaggerated wheel arches and body kits.
I am a 'rusher'.... the paint is my worse job.. I really need to slow my process... I have given my L&L Models Clio body to my mate who is going to do our livery from back in 1996... If I am half as happy as you seem in this video then bring it on 😜😜😜😍 The best people win C Finals 😜😜😜😜😜
I'm not keen on this body, L&L seem to have molded the grill and lights too low if you compare it to the real touring car. It looks like the front of the Mondeo has melted.
I am comparing it to the BTCC touring car version it is based on not the road version. The lights and grill are too low, the grill less so but the lights should have been molded high. L&L models are hit and miss in my opinion sometimes it is almost Tamiya accurate and other times....not so much.

It’s actually incredible to have in the collection, it’s honestly the first car I look at when I enter the room 😇👊🏻

You said it was another car you didn't know you wanted Glenn - oh how true that statement is! Nice work 😎👍
Haha yeah that happens quite a lot to me lol 😂
I’m guessing to you too Rob 🤣👊🏻
For a shelf queen all details are worth it beautiful beautiful car. Thank you for all your efforts.
Thank you for watching 😇👊🏻

End result is awesome!! Another slice of your RC history for the cabinet 👍
Thanks buddy I’m over the moon with it 😇👊🏻
Looks banging mate had 1 on one of my schumacher mi4 which I raced I had 4 got 2 left
Oh wow are they the original HOI shells?
Really looks good. I still have my stadium truck from 1997. I get it.
Oh yeah that’s so cool you still have it 😎👊🏻

I think it came out great!
Thanks Keith 😇👊🏻
That looks great mate!
Hi from Yorkshire England Glenn I have a audi s4 car back in the day but I never raced my but was cool looking forward to seeing yours bro
Fantastic 😎👊🏻
I always ream body post holes, before cutting wheel arches and paint.. makes it easier to align properly. I guess it all depends on the person

Hey James yeah you 100% have to do that Boomerang again 😍
@@RCLegends2022 Yep l think you are right on that Glenn!
I will have to start looking into getting that parma bodyshell from somewhere?
Hi mate it's always wurth the effort with the little details it just makes it pop 👍...Mike
Another cracking job 👌 Don’t be too hard on yourself, from my experience it can be tricky doing the window surrounds on L&L shells.
Thanks Jon 😇👊🏻

Great looking body!
Thank you 😊
Looks great Glenn, did you not say you were going to back it in white?
Yeah I was totally meant to but as I said I really rushed this one and didn’t bother 🙈🙈🙈
Great livery somewhat let down by the the Rapid Fit and spanner decals that lack depth of yellow. The rest looks ace 👍
Yeah I was disappointed with that too 🤕

@@RCLegends2022 I had to watch it this morning after watching your video 😁
The colour could be down to your lighting some times when you edit the video you can fix the colour. I think you can turn up the vibrancy
Oh interesting thanks I’ll have a look at that 😅
Also, just a hint, when I do break color decals over dark color paint, I backed them with a white decal
Oh now that is a really good idea, I’ll definitely remember this for the future 😎👊🏻
