What 'amount of issues'? From what I have read they have fixed the biggest of the issues affecting the most customers and it is only customers running strange configurations or software only used by very few businesses that are still having problems.
I updated my computer to 24H2 as soon as it was available to do so and had no problems. I'm one of those who should have had issues since I am a gamer and it was majority gamers having issues.

I miss the Windows 7 epoch so much. Maybe it was different for some, but it was such a smooth ride for me from the beta all the way up to when I had to ditch it upgrading my PC last year. Nothing was broken, ever, upon the update, not a single reinstall, and it was just the system that maintained my work and did not cause a single issue. I didn't have to constantly pay attention to my OS, tweaking it, learning how to avoid troubles which MS likes to drop on us every now and then with their automatic updates...

I switched from Windows 7 to Windows 10 just the last week after my new hardware upgrades finally forced it (to be fair there were work arounds but they were getting to be pretty extensive + there was increasing amounts of game incompatibility) and I can confirm even the Windows 10 experience is terrible compared to Windows 7. It was way more work going through Windows 10 blocking spyware/connections to Microsoft/trimming bloat than actually building the computer was.
I tried Linux but things like .ico files not being compatible by default, folders not previewing what's inside, and not being able to simply drag and drop a shortcut to my trash onto the desktop turned me away from it.

@Britec09 Hej Brian, Much longer test periods are needed before a new Windows version is released, and perhaps not a new major Windows version every year. Many of the problems in Windows 11 24H2 were reported in the Windows 11 feedback hub, but Microsoft still chose to release it. I don't understand that. So this seems to be how it works: they release the Windows version and fix it afterward, but many users have problems in the meantime. I don't think this is a good way to do it; it causes problems for many users. Microsoft should stress less and let users run on their Windows version longer; there is no rush to force update computers to Windows 11 24H2 right now. Take care, Brian, and have a lovely Sunday.

I'm on Mint 22.1 now but, keep the 2nd NVMe with Win11 just in case. Recently did an in place upgrade of the W11 23H2 to 24H2 using an MS downloaded image. The upgrade made me pick a PIN. They also reinstalled most of their junk I had removed from 23H2 using CTT tools. It also asked for the PIN every time I tried to add/remove or make a system change. Tried to run CTT tools and they had also changed the both CMD and Powershell to "constrained language", couldn't run the tools. Had to change my local account back to admin, change Powershell back to full language and rerun CTT tools to get rid of their junk. Such a hassle. I should have stayed on 23H2.

Microsoft does try and avoid that, but statistically a perfect update is impossible. There are over a billion and a half Windows devices in use, the vast majority will update without experiencing any issues, however because there is an infinite combination of hardware, software, and different use cases there will always be someone that is negatively impacted by a minor change.

My MCE computer just did an update, but I'm still on 23H2. I created a system restore point, since it's still working. I may want to keep it from getting 24H2, but that never worked for me on Windows 10 and it ended up borking MCE. I started clean with Windows 11 and a new MCE install, which the new versions supposedly don't get affected by Windows updates.

Forcing updates are such desperate move. What if the newest updates not even stable? Would they still force unstable and unreliable updates too? Delaying update feature are such a joke these days, it should be up to users whether they want to update immediately or not. Not everyone wants to be a volunteer for beta testing your latest updates. Automatically loaded. The best I could say was "Oh well". Then I noticed that the colours were now messed up. I use the (RED-GREEN) colour filter to boost facial colour and have green trees etc., look much fresher. My TV colour calibration was then adjusted to get the overall best performance. But the performance changed due to the new 24H2 addition of the "Intensity" and the "Colour Booster" slide bar adjustments. Their default setting did not lead to matching the previous performance of the RED-GREEN filter.

Quick question... I have home edition of Windows 11 23h2. I just did what you shown for that. I initially had it paused for 5 weeks before watching this video. Reason for the pause; When, I clicked on the check for updates... 24h2 started to download. I quickly paused it. LOL. Anyways, after I watched this video I did the steps of copy and pasting the three actions. And I un-paused it and no more 24h2. Does that mean I did it right? Also, once it get's close to that time when 23h2 is no longer. What's the steps to downloading 24h2 after that?

Hej Brian, thanks for the video. I personally think it's not good that Microsoft is starting to force-update Windows 24H2 on computers now, and, as you say, there is quite a long support period left for Windows 11 23H2. So why can't Microsoft wait to force-update 24H2 on PCs? I don't understand that. Microsoft should only do this when a Windows 11 version is near its end of support. But, as you show and have done before, it's possible to block Windows 11 24H2 and stay on Windows 11 23H2 if users wish to do so. So, it's very nice that you can do that in the Registry Editor or in Group Policy if you have Windows 11 Pro, which I have.Take care Brian and i wish you a nice and lovely sunday.

From my own experience, I had block the update from the beginning of the release (registries keys) but recently decide to gave it a try on one of my 6 PCs running dual boot Wndows/Linux. So far, it is all good. I check thoroughly my games too on Windows and see no difference, I update all my PCs now to it and haven't seen anything bad, may be just that the head banner of the file manager take longer to draw but no big deal.
I use Linux 95% of the time but I understand a bit MS for pushing 24H2 because otherwise WIndows 11 will be split in two sides, the first half refuse to update and the other, who did. They will have to support both. Anyway MS is squashing all the bugs of 24H2 and eventually everybody will be on it.

    Bring back windows 10 please.
A windows 11 update was one of the causes that affected my computer to the Point that I had to send it to Asus warranty repair. My college technicians couldn't fix this and he told me I wasn't the only one with weird things going on with my windows gaming laptop.
This was a Major inconvenience because i am an animation student that works on the go at certain times and situation. So i had to use the college Macs with Wacoms at the time till i receive my laptop.
I thank the Lord that Asus fixed my laptop and the repair status report says that there were no components that needed replacement or repairs.
So they had to fix the software issue with my laptop.
The only thing I'm not sure is did Asus re apply thermal paste for me? Because I'm not that tech savvy to remove components.
I wouldn't trust myself to do it since my last computer was an €1100 pre built that i blame myself for ruining and its a long story to explain.
I'll give an update on anything said wrong or any details i didn't include for the situation.
