- Much is known about Mal Evans life as The Beatles Road Manager, but not so much about his Liverpool life before he was swept up in Beatlemania. This Video Tour tells us more about Mal's early days.
I've been creating mini tours of The Beatles Liverpool while the pandemic is raging and the Tourism business suffering. If you enjoy this, donations are welcome on Paypal.me/beatleguide or www.ko-fi.com/jackiespencer
Many thanks.

Well done, Jackie!
Great video and commentary Jackie delivered in a delightful Liverpool accent, well done you ....
Brilliant video, thanks Jackie. I'll be reading his recent biography next.
A very beautiful voice and face, thank you
Because of his association with the Beatles his name will never be forgotten.
Great video. The book of Mal's life based on his diaries is a great read. Living The Beatles Legend.
Im in the ctedits somewhere. this was made before the book came out and if I did it again Id make a chnage or rwo
@Jacaranda9 Only just come across your channel. Loving the video content.
Thank heavens Liverpool is now taking the Beatles legacy seriously. Cos for decades the city fathers ignored their contribution to culture. Even now, the Merseybeat explosion that spawned The Beatles is largely ignored. Shame when you consider there were 300 bands playing regularly in the Locale.
Keep up the good work. X
Great Video superbly told 👍👍
Glad you liked it!
It's great being a scouser knowing all these locations very well, not a day goes past without walking or driving past a place with a wonderful Beatles connection, except when you are away from our beautiful City, well done Jackie.
Thanks for the information, Jackie. I've often wondered how Mal became involved.
Enjoyed this so much ! Been to Liverpool many times now, being a first generation Beatles fan is a must. Never thought about Mal's places to visit but so glad you did! Love the newest book "Living the Beatles Legend" a must read. It was so cool to see that the lyrics to She's Leaving Home" went to the Kidney Foundation! Happy New Year Jackie!
Great video, many thanks. I learned a lot. Often thought of as the 5th Beatle. I used to come on holidays to New Brighton from Scotland, and live there now.
New Brighton is a great place!
Thanks for doing this Jackie - it helps enormously to contextualise an important part of the Beatles story. Let's be honest, Mal was no angel, but the circumstances of his end are tragic.
Fascinating to learn more about the gentle giant of the Beatles, taken far too soon. Such brilliant research too - you make it look easy but a lot of work has gone into that.
Shouldn't pick fights with cops with guns😊
Great stuff! What a lovely, gentle presentational style you have. Ta very much!
Thank you so much. From the heart
Great video Jackie! :-)
This was a lovely bit of information. Thanks Jackie. Time for the cup of coffee.
Mal was one of the first people to join the UK Elvis fan club and carried his card around with him.
thanks, beautiful guide :)
Subscribed 👍. Thank you. Fab and Gear 🙏.
thank you!
Thanks for researching the Gentle Man, Mal....very enlightening!
Anything about Liverpool can be interesting for Beatles fans, especially in other countries.
By the way, when I visited the city in the 80s, I couldn't believe what I was hearing was English.
Yeah it's called proper English (scouse) 💙👍🏻
Try Glasgow and Newcastle.............you'll need subtitles...🤩
Mal was the unsung hero of the Beatles. Can't wait for the Womack bio, but looks like we'll have to.
George Harrison, who was at least partially responsible for Mal’s LA romance that ultimately led to his death (suicide by Cop), showed the most class by visiting the family after Mal died and confessing his involvement in the affair to his wife. Paul on the other hand, never gave Mal the credit he deserved for input and writing credits on several important Beatles songs that Paul wrote. And he never mentioned Mal’s contributions in his book, Lyrics, either. John and Ringo just avoided the unpleasantness of his death. Sad that Mal wasn’t respected by them more.
Poor Mal. He gave up his own family just to be adjacent to the Beatles. As much as I love the Beatles, that’s a trade I’d never make. RIP Mal.
Hi children are very proud of his legacy now, but losing their dad young was tough
Poor Mal 😮it was his choice to abandon his family
Listen to the letter he wrote. He loved his family and they're proud of him. They're my friends and we have to remember that this is living history and be thoughtful of their feelings ❤️
We lived next door at 77 waldgrave road.
oh wow. Did you know the family?
You have to read the beatle that vanished great history on his life with 5he Beatles and without
What a fantastic video have a good weekend also happy holiday season from Canada and also I will quit TH-cam in 2025❤😊🇯🇵🎸🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦🎄🌲🎂🏴
