    Drove home in the rain to find I couldn't get the boiler to work. Resigned myself to phoning relatives for the number a reputable heating engineer, and then had a brain wave to check on TH-cam first. I followed your instructions and I now have heat. From a very grateful viewer. Thank you.

    I'm adding this to hopefully help somebody out: I have a more old-school unit that's not digital, but instead uses a gauge for the PSI. All the valves on my water pipes are open except one, which is what fills the boiler unit with water. I only needed to open this one valve and then watched the PSI rise to the appropriate level (50 PSI for my unit) and then closed the valve. The unit turned-on a few seconds later, likely circulating the added water, and then it shut off a moment later. This process was necessary since I had bled the radiators in the house when the cold weather hit.
    Again, I hope this helps someone (I'm not a plumber or anything of the sort, just sharing my experience)--thank you to the video creator, great video 👍🏻 cheers

Why not keep the filling loop on permenently if the 2 pipes it connects to are isolated and will be when the filling loop isn't being used?

    Should I be concerend that the right valve on my boiler is very stiff and hard to turn? The left one is fine, I'm just a tiny bit conerned that if I can't close the right one then it'll over pressure by a lot.

    • @SugarhousePropertiesLeeds
      @SugarhousePropertiesLeeds  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Bee Man; Normally there will just be one valve that allows to top up the pressure so not sure what the second valve might be. If ever you're unsure, we would always recommend contacting a suitably qualified heating engineer or the manufacturer before touching the boiler.

    Hi, I previously topped my boiler up with water with no problem but didn't know about the order of the taps to open the left one first. Now it doesn't fill up, but gives a machine gun noise and shakes. Also, some water went out of the flat (through a small pipe). Could it be like some air stuck in? Or do I just have to wait until the pressure completely goes to zero? Any ideas? Please help!! Thx.

    • @SugarhousePropertiesLeeds
      @SugarhousePropertiesLeeds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi; I think that's probably one where you'd need to get a qualified heating engineer out as that doesnt sound quite right. You should only ever open the pressure valve, and opening this allows the pressure to increase so this shouldn't cause a decrease. If pressure is dropping / decreasing you may have a small leak somewhere in the heating system.
