House of the dragon is about 200 years before Daenerys was born, not before the start of the show. House of the dragon chronicles what started the decent for the family. But how Robert became King is totally separate from that and it’s explained in the show but 100% fully explained in great detail in the history and lore videos that accompanied each season. Please react to those after the season is over. You won’t regret it. It provides so much information and context and in a way that’s more interesting that you would anticipate
I’m like 99.9% sure that’s the same dagger from House of Dragon. It’s got a lonnnng history, just you wait! I realized it when rewatching GOT after I watched HOD.
It is actually supposed to be the same dagger but they never explain how (person) ends up with it and it kind of becomes forgotten. That's why I don't understand why HOTD brought it up and made it a major thing because in GOT nobody even remembers it.
@@joeymedina7115 It doesn't really need a specific story, IMO. Royalty-in-King's-Landing owns a thing, so it stands to reason that a valuable dagger like that gets hung onto and passed on, reaching Other-Royalty-in-King's-Landing when they take over. Like a painting, a dresser, a table, etc. Nobody's going to throw away a Valerian blade, lol.
So excited for you boys to go through this journey together. I was in Jack’s shoes before having watched with a friend after already seeing the show up to a certain point (prior to season 6). And I remember it being so hard to remember what exactly they would reveal in episodes ahead or what you were already supposed to have picked up on already. But most of the time I would answer a question and an episode later they would answer it. So anything the boys are confused on just let them cook they’ll work it out eventually. That’s part of the fun. Though it can be a little overwhelming at first.
I think that, for future reactions, you should remember two things: 1) Arya is the exception to the general effect of a noble's classist ideologies on noble girls. Sansa is the "typical", or an example of what noble's principles of obedience, etc. are on how noble girls will react to things that happen around & to them. And noble girls are the most vulnerable of this class. 2) Sansa is still a child, 13 or 14 or whatever. Just...keep this in mind.
A few clarifications: * Unless they massively expand the scope of the show, HOTD is not going to cover 200 years of history between Viserys I and the start of GOT. It covers this particular, uh, "interesting" period of time in the history of the Targaryen dynasty where the succession gets all effed up, as you've seen. It's not a spoiler to let you know this because that is just the stated concept for this show. As you said in your conversation, knowing the Targaryen dynasty continues after HOTD tells you nothing of who wins this struggle between the blacks and the greens. * This is also not a spoiler as it's already been said in the show but you just missed it because there's a lot of lore to digest, but Rhaegar Targaryen was not Daenerys' and Viserys' father - he was their older brother, the crown prince who was set to inherit the throne next, but was killed during Robert's Rebellion. Rhaegar, Viserys and Daenerys are the kids of Aerys Targaryen II, AKA "the mad king," which was the last Targaryen king before Robert Baratheon took the throne with the help of the Starks and some other big players.
There’s a point in season one where the episodes stop being table setting and instead the plot starts moving forward slowly at first but then quickly full steam ahead. 🎉🎉🎉
I have seen Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon more than 8 times and here I am watching again. I love watching reactions, I like to hear everyones opinion on all the characters. I need more episodes. 😂😅

Happy to see the new bois are liking the progression so far. Loads of ppl think the first 2 seasons drag compared to the rest because of all the world building but it's worth it. You won't be seeing sides (team black/green) as much in this one but how your opinion on individual characters changes will be a fun ride.
Unless you look up a Targ family tree, idk if it's explicitly stated what side Danny comes from in the show. I might be wrong on that though. This is about 200 yrs after HOTD
so.. in defense on sansa, she did good, you cant go against a prince and his family, saying that she didnt remember anything was a smart move because she dont chose side, sorry for my english
Enjoy this ride- this show is so amazing! I forget what season- I think season 3 where there is a big spoiler for what happens in the war between the Targaryens in HOTD. It’s one scene with Joffrey explaining it to a character yet to be introduced. Might want to think about skipping it if you don’t want to know how that all ends up.
I just finished reading the third book and the dagger was taken by Joffrey from his father’s weapon kit. He send the man to kill Bran. I know they use the same dagger from HOTD in GoT so there’s some conection, but in reality there’s not.
@@anmoldwivedi5403Well, let's just say that the ending was PARTLY expected. The main problem is not what the characters came to, but how. Even Martin said that the finale required 2 more seasons, and not a few episodes of the 8th...
I wonder if they drew the correlation between the scene in house of the dragon where rhaenyra and alicent are arguing over which of their kids started the fight, and ned/robert/cersei debating the same, the dialogue plays out extremely closely
Little correction: Rhaegar is Daenerys' and Viserys' elder brother. Their father, Aerys the Mad King, killed, as mentioned in the episode, Neds father and brother. Rhaegar kidnapped and killed Neds sister Lyanna.
I really give Ayra props in this. Bravely defying the prince and the queen. Standing her ground even when Sansa didnt back her up... but then still defending Sansa's wolf yelling that "Lady wasn't there!" when the queen, being an absolute runt, wants Lady killed instead. I'm still sympathetic to Sansa in this situation. She's 13. A silly little girl whose spent a life being praised for being a good doll and hasn't had much experience with life being difficult or unfair until suddenly this big moment.
I'm loving the reactions so far and you've got a new subscriber! Sorry, I'm just trying to learn all of you guys names. But whoever is in the camo hat, second from the right, I love your little reactions and looks. 😏
As for character development….this show is at the top of the pyramid with character development. This show did it better and with so many more characters than ever done before. Better than movies and films. It has the edge over films because it obviously tells a longer form story as being a tv show which allows obviously for more character development over time than films do. But most shows just change whims on characters every year. This show is all from the mind of George RR Martin and so all of the character development that happens was all known and planned from the start and not deviated
Did I just hear them say that they think Rhaegar is Dany's father? I can see why they're getting confused when they keep bringing up the HotD stories/characters up while talking about this show. HotD happened about 300 years before this show's timeline. The only takeaway from all of the show's talk about what happened during HotD is that Targaryens stayed in power but the people rose up and killed most if not all the dragons. It's mentioned multiple times in this show that the people now have not seen dragons in a long time and the eggs that were gifted to Dany are old and probably petrified with time. Oh, and if you haven't realized it yet, the Targaryens tended to reuse the given names every generation - - there are multiple Targs named Viserys and Aegon, etc.
Just one thing, HotD starts 172 years before Daenerys is born, so considering Dany is supposed to be about 14-16, and the almost 20 years added time jumps in HotD, the main events of it happened around 165 years ago, not 300. But regardless, your point still stands, apart from small historical connections, they won't find anything too solid connecting the shows.
@@davidsr1997 Thank you for this clarification. Correct me if I'm wrong, it was approx 300 years prior that Aegon the Conqueror took over, right? If so, that might be where I got confused. I was once obsessed with the entire ASOIAF lore, but forced myself not to think about it much for over a year and have forgotten many details.
@@bereasonable8018 Yes! I actually thought Aegon's conquest had been way longer before, but I was just looking into something and did see that it was around 300 years ago. So that would be where you got confused indeed
Just a fun fact about Targaryens and Baratheons: they're related, it seems like the Baratheon house was started by a Targaryen bastard. Targaryens often marry Baratheons, so King Robert is part Targaryen, his grandmother was a Targ princess; another example in HOTD is princess Rhaenys, her mom was a Baratheon (beacuse of this, according to the books, she has black hair).

Your egg comments are interesting. Something that's fascinating seeing you guys watch this after HotD, is that you already know what dragons are capable of. For some viewers at the time (who hadn't read the books) Dany's eggs were little more than symbolic- since dragons had been extinct for ages by now. (Keep in mind, this was not initially seen as that kind of a "fantasy" show.) Surely the eggs would never hatch, right? Right?!
when the one guy asked " so the Joffrey kid is a Lannister" why did someone answer yes.?..Joffery (according to the audience at this point) is a Baratheon
Jack simply can’t help himself. I get it lol. Just try your best to contain your excitement and really try to think about answering them. It’s one thing to tell characters names but to just give away how you will feel about characters and how characters will get along etc. Is kind of a give away.

He just never seems to realise that giving his feelings on characters and what he does and doesn't remember gives so much info to people who haven't watched it yet. He got a bit better later on with AOT but he always seems to have the most input which is bad if you've seen the show already. But how Robert became King is totally separate from that and it’s explained in the show but 100% fully explained in great detail in the history and lore videos that accompanied each season. Please react to those after the season is over. You won’t regret it. It provides so much information and context and in a way that’s more interesting that you would anticipate
You guys need to drop these everyday man 😭
"Jorah looks like Askeladd in live action" hey that's so true lol, if HBO ever thinks of making a Vinland LA, there you have Askeladd
I’m like 99.9% sure that’s the same dagger from House of Dragon. It’s got a lonnnng history, just you wait! I realized it when rewatching GOT after I watched HOD.
Yeah, that is 100% the same dagger.
It is actually supposed to be the same dagger but they never explain how (person) ends up with it and it kind of becomes forgotten. That's why I don't understand why HOTD brought it up and made it a major thing because in GOT nobody even remembers it.
It absolutely is the same dagger.
@@joeymedina7115the dagger is a very big deal throughout GoT. I 100% recognized it in HotD.
In my opinion, the phenomenal music by composer Ramin Djawadi was a GOT character.
“I want to know who’s John’s mom is” wait many many many years! Haha
I always inform newbies that HOTD is an Olympic sprint race, and GOT is the Boston Marathon.
HoTD is slower than that. It has only covered 20 years for the first season but will be like GoT now.
With all that predictions… im smiling like mckay 😂
This is the moment ned should just send his children back and maybe come back himself... i hate those scenes
I think that, for future reactions, you should remember two things:
1) Arya is the exception to the general effect of a noble's classist ideologies on noble girls. Sansa is the "typical", or an example of what noble's principles of obedience, etc. are on how noble girls will react to things that happen around & to them. And noble girls are the most vulnerable of this class.
2) Sansa is still a child, 13 or 14 or whatever.
Just...keep this in mind.
A few clarifications:
* Unless they massively expand the scope of the show, HOTD is not going to cover 200 years of history between Viserys I and the start of GOT.
i'm so happy y'all started watching game of thrones! i enjoyed your HoTD reactions, so i'm even more excited to see your reactions to this!
I have seen Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon more than 8 times and here I am watching again. I love watching reactions, I like to hear everyones opinion on all the characters. I need more episodes. 😂😅
Ngl House Lannister is actually my favorite 😂😂😂 every actor was so good esp Tywin the GOAT
Loved your discussions. And the parts where your friends stayed Quiet ... i loved that even more. Reminded me of my good old college days when i would have similar discussions with my friends.. When I was excited to share GOT, seeing my friends get into it ( Being excited about all the good and bad that they were about to experience.) This show definitely is/was an Experience.
I’m so excited!! You guys are gonna love this so much! I’m listening to all your theories and speculations and I just know how amazing your reactions will be when those things are shown and explained eventually !! 😁
Alsoooo please stop calling the Dothraki savages 😭😭
so.. in defense on sansa, she did good, you cant go against a prince and his family, saying that she didnt remember anything was a smart move because she dont chose side, sorry for my english
Bro I honestly can't wait for this journey. Watching the goat show will never get old
the intro shows the map and the places that will be shown in the episode
This dropped right when I was finally going to sleep at 6 am, hahaha! Can’t wait for more!
I was hyped and eager for you to get through HoTD and now that you’re on GoT, I can’t wait to see all of the ups and downs
I just finished reading the third book and the dagger was taken by Joffrey from his father’s weapon kit. He send the man to kill Bran. I know they use the same dagger from HOTD in GoT so there’s some conection, but in reality there’s not.
"Askeladd in live action" . That's actually not a bad shout hahaha
Lol Jack giving them the eyes on important foreshadowing
This show is gonna have ya'll on a rollercoaster. Enjoy :))
But the ending 😔
@@anmoldwivedi5403 That's when the ride stops for sure ahaha
Worst ending of all time
@@anmoldwivedi5403Well, let's just say that the ending was PARTLY expected. The main problem is not what the characters came to, but how. Even Martin said that the finale required 2 more seasons, and not a few episodes of the 8th...
@@redemption5763 Definitely bad
I know you guys can't but we want this every single day
I wonder if they drew the correlation between the scene in house of the dragon where rhaenyra and alicent are arguing over which of their kids started the fight, and ned/robert/cersei debating the same, the dialogue plays out extremely closely
I'm mostly here for MCKays smirks :D
(no, just kiddin'. Never been more hyped for reactors to react to GoT !)
I felt so freaking awful for the poor Butchers Boy, he didn't even do anything wrong, seemed like such a sweet kid 😢😢
This show is all from the mind of George RR Martin and so all of the character development that happens was all known and planned from the start and not deviated
are you going to upload once a week? Please more :
Gonna be 2!
2x3?
I need the history and lore ASAP 😭
This is not a spoiler, the dagger is the same from HotD, they pretty much show it but don't say it.
@@davidsr1997 Yeah 300 would be the time of Aegons conquest.
The map in the intro really helps a ton
These first two episodes you guys watched are just setting up the chessboard and the pieces of the chess board. Believe it or it, amongst the slowest episodes of the show. That’s the only no -spoiler hint I’m inclined to give you guys. As always loving your GoT reaction dudes!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
There’s a lot of characters you will adore and also a lot you will hate with a passion. You haven’t seen anything yet 😂
in the books its explained that Roberts gran was a Targaryen which gave him some right to claim the throne. Since house arryn and baratheon have been mentioned as relatives in house of thedragon
How can these guys get almost 200k followers with only one microphone?
because they're awesome? :D
i thought the same 😁
@@yashA.456It is more about having trouble to hear everyone good, because they are at different distances to the mic. For example having 2 or 3 mics in front would solve that. Also the show volume is louder than half of the guys. That is what he meant by only having 1 mic right now.
I see it the same way. 🤷♂ Content is great, though. 👌
@@Dene181 maybe just up the volume on your end? I've watched a good amount of their videos by now and haven't really had that much of an issue with their sound, if anything I find it impressive how the mic is this good to pick them all up so well
That is DEFINITELY the same dagger from House of the Dragon!
2:15 I’m suprised no one reacted to Joffre being slapped. Under King’s rule its treasonous to lay hands on the prince/noblemen, and his Kingsguard standing to Joffrey are sworn to protect him from harm. It’s funny bc they all know this but no one says anything because it’s Tyrion
And they all know Joffery is an ass who deserves it.
Y’all are sick. Prolly be subscribing to your Patreon soon
I love watching your reactions to GOT. As to how you all are not binging it is BEYOND me. Please post more like 3 per week at least HAHA. Hmm... something tells me you'll have no choice but to binge the hell out of it real soon. IT LITERALLY GETS BETTER EVERY EPISODE you haven't reached anywhere yet, literally.
Just know, you will be a fan of almost character in this show even if you don’t like them now. It’s just what happens.
The assassin having a Valyrian steel dagger is hilarious overkill.
Lady would've died anyway. Sansa didn't have a choice there, but staying neutral was the best she could've done.
since Joffrey is her future husband and a prince of the realm, it would not look good on her to not taking his side.
but she didn't side with him either, she didn't betray her sister, arya.
I think you guys should do a couple of episodes every time cuz it’s gonna take ages before you finish it
The medieval and Renaissance was a man's world for sure. It's fun to see yall interested in the show. I just got into the game of thrones myself. Also, what's yalls zodiac from right to left?
There is no way in hell anyone can say the first two episodes of HotD are better than the first two of GoT. NOOO WAY NOOO HOW
love the quick "4th wall breaks to camera" of mckay lol
Can't wait for episode 9 reaction🔥
Definitely enjoying these reactions so far just found y’all’s channel when this started so also going back and watching the HotD reactions lol, oh and also really hope the guys who have already seen GoT don’t spoil anything, definitely gotta keep in perspective where we are in the show when talking about how they feel about characters, but yeah I’m hooked keep up these fun reactions!
dont worry, having seen their reactions to other shows, theyre good about not spoiling what they know to the newbies
As someone who has seen all of GoT and none of HotD, I'm finding the analysis and speculation really fascinating.
*Post 2 each time please.*
Each day??? 😂
@@thelegacyofgaming2928Each day they upload*
I liked you guys and I'm also feeling old with the new generation finally catching up to this show 😹😭 but I'm also sad I'm finding you when you're only on episode two of first season, meaning I can't binge watch 😹😹 watching your reaction of HOTD!!
This is so much fun and very entertaining! Great reactions. 😊
The look at…. Well I probably shouldn’t give the timestamp. I won’t say anything, I just started laughing.
Please post more GOT!!!! Love the reactions!!
petition to upload 3 eps per week🙏🙏🙏
McKay's reactions lol
The way Cat treats Jon is a big part of the reason why I never liked her character. There are other reasons too but she's been treating Jon poorly since he was a baby.
you guys are the best you are going to love this
How does the guy in the middle not recognize that dagger from HOTD!? I mean, come on bro lol I was waiting for him to acknowledge that 🤦🏻♂️
Better watch out for spoilers of HOTD in season 3 episode 4 and some references in season 5 episode 9 in here.
In the first minute I was laughing.
“I’m sure this show is going to remain really tight, there won’t be any time skips” 😂😂
I cant describe how much i LOVE that yall reacting to GOT
enjoy the ride guys
Hey guys , I’m really looking forward to these reactions! Just be wary of some of these comments. People can be incredibly rude and toxic and spoil things just for the fun of it and/or ruin your viewing experiences. Don’t let other people’s opinions cloud your judgment. Some people will say it gets “bad” after season 3, others say season 4, others say season 5, or 6, or even season 1. So many conflicting opinions based on other people!!! So watch it without influence first and foremost and there’ll be an absence of that negativity cloud *some* parts of this fandom love to spurn !! Enjoy :) this is my favourite show of all time💓
Your egg comments are interesting.
We have an issue with our friend answering out rhetorical questions 😂😂 he’s getting better tho
Those that have watched it just need to react in ‘woah’s and ahh’s’
I like the looks at the camera
Jack's doing better with the hints xD, still could be better tho
Jack simply can’t help himself. I get it lol. Just try your best to contain your excitement and really try to think about answering them. It’s one thing to tell characters names but to just give away how you will feel about characters and how characters will get along etc. Is kind of a give away.
I'm late to the party for this series but I remember he did the same through AOT lol, I always dread a little when they watch a show that Jack has seen. He just never seems to realise that giving his feelings on characters and what he does and doesn't remember gives so much info to people who haven't watched it yet. He got a bit better later on with AOT but he always seems to have the most input which is bad if you've seen the show already. Hoping he stops at some point through this show, although he's already doing better than with AOT in which he was just straight up shutting down their theories lol.
Do they watch the opening? I would love to see their reaction to the slight changes and it helps with all the current locations it's so great I love it
It's funny watching the reactions of the two that have seen the show when things are said during the episode or when someone on the couch makes an assumption. Some things they are playing off nicely, but obviously can't go into any details.
So glad to see you guys continuing to enjoy the series and invest further into the characters & plot points. It's going to be one heck of a ride!!! 😁
