      Only this method as in part one you would be dividing by 1 so it’s not necessary.

      It's a sign of the times. People value that piece of paper saying you did something at a college rather than look at experience. Refreshing knowledge and skills is also important in keeping up with a changing economy/work environment.
      Great work ladies, keep it up!

    First off, long time listener, first-time caller and I love your shows! is there a possible way of seeing them in order some how? So one could watch them as you would teach them in school? Factoring as an example, no point in watching Factoring Quadratic Trinomials when you don't know what a trinomial is... That way it would keep folks on the right path instead of backtracking. Thanks!!

    THXS your a great teacher/tutor I am still somewhat confused of a trinominal x2+3xy+2y can you help se this problem up for me?

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      This problem is not factorable as it's written. If the problem was x^2 + 3xy + 2y^2, it could be factored. Check out problem 4 in this video for the process.

    I am confused on why around 6:30 the 2nd power on the y just goes away. 4y^2 + 5y -6

    • @daphnierobertson4347
      @daphnierobertson4347 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daphnie Robertson oops nevermind I get it. I was just accustomed to using the x. You do open the double ( ) and add y to each on giving it the y^2

    Love your videos. I'm curious WHY this method works. In Example 1, you start with 3m^2 - 4m - 4, but then end up multiplying binomials (m - 6)(m + 2). These 2 binomials are not equivalient to the original. I guess my question is WHY are we able to temporarily get rid of the leading coefficient of 3? Thanks in advance!

    Hey Mr. Whitt! It's Daniel here and I liked example two because you wont let me say number one. Just kidding, but I can only say that number one helped me understand the concept while the other examples just added repetition which is helpful.

      Was going to suggest that you put your workbook on Amazon (through their CreateSpace program) . They print on demand, and it won't cost you anything to sell the book through them, but that way people can order a copy of your book right on Amazon.

    Hi. Does this method work if the "a" is negative, or do you have to factor out a -1 from the whole equation first?

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +chilohwink It does, but factor out -1 to match solutions in your text and for a cleaner look.

    on minute 10:18 you forgot to tell us how you got 9/2b and 1/2b. can you explain that please.

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, reduce 18/4b and 2/4b by 2 (divide the numerator and denominator by 2 in each fraction). All fractions must be simplified.

      The remaining denominator (2) is placed in front of the variable.
