I found this channel a few days ago. I am glad I did. When I was a kid I struggled with math because none of my teachers were this straight forward, and to the point which made everything confusing. I have learned more in the FBT videos than I ever have all through high school. Not just this channel, but there are all kinds of math videos, books, and DVDs that I have discovered as an adult that I didn't know were available. TH-cam didn't exist when I was going to school as a kid or even as a teenager. I am 40 now making up for lost time. I have been trying to get my math level up. 1) So I can pass the math portion on an entrance exam for an apprenticeship. And 2) eventually I am going back to college to get some kind of degree. So thank you FBT for posting your videos. Really good stuff brother! I dig it!

Eric Bouler good luck on your apprenticeship, people always need a tradesman. I really did not understand higher math in high school, and though I used basic formulas early in my nursing career later IV pumps and the pharmacy did most calculations. But it still bugs me that I don’t know how to do Algebra. I am grateful for the teachers on TH-cam.

the videos and tutoring process is really clear and straightforward and very good but what I really really like is is the only tutoring that I've seen that has a little bit of humor added in it too . . . the beginning and ending are really funny and it makes me smile which I don't normally do when it comes to math!!!!

I have to say you are very good at what you do. The most straight forward, direct approach, presented in a way that guides but then allows us to challenge ourselves. A calm demeanor with a slight twang of humor, I think all the comments display your success as a teacher and reinforce that we learn quickly with your videos. You were born to teach!

I wish I found this video before I failed my last exam on this subject and was going to drop my class, now I'm confident and I won't drop but will follow your examples. We are multiplying and dividing rational expressions and now adding and subtracting rational expressions with common denominators and least common denominator. The exam I failed was factoring polynomials which I just finished all three of your series and have a much better understanding, however, factoring trinomials and the perfect square is really hard for me to understand. Thank you I really appreciate all your video's!!!!!!

In #4 I tried doing it by myself and got (n-1)(7n+5) then I found out that I didn't factor the seven out in the beginning. Do you have to factor it or is my answer another possible answer

    • @FortBendTutoring

You must always factor out the GCF first and include it in your answer. Keep in mind that the product of your solution must be equal to the original problem.

I found another combination of factors that also work 15 and 36. Can I go down this path or is there only one way to express the factorization of a quadratic and trinomial equation. My alternative factorization to 15f^2+44f-36=0 is: (5f+12).(f+1)=0 What do you say professore?

    • @FortBendTutoring
