Tesla Cybertruck CYBERBEAST gets STUCK Off Roading

- Took the Tesla Cybertruck CYBERBEAST out to get familiar with some off road settings and shot video while at it. I was on some very simple trails initially but the day was cut short after I sunk the Cybertruck in some deep mud. Running stock A/T tires not mad for mudding.

Those tires aren't for more than rainwater on asphalt imo. W a heavy truck, need tread so it can bite. Also deflating tires as I think road PSI 50+. Loved the video and no music, no talking through the woods was very nice. Thanks.
Need to get those Goodyear MTR Kevlar from the prototype. Those are serious off-road capable tires for some serious bucks.
To be fair, in my experience a tire with more aggressive tread on a heavy truck just dig faster in stuff that soft. In the end all vehicles have a limit, like he said, stuck was coming to whichever truck was in front.
@@aaronb7990 if there is no hard ground below, yes. However, in snow or mud, these tires don't have tread when hit harder surface. Deflation a good idea as well so tires don't easily sink deep.
@@Abebe345 For sure, even in denser deep mud an aggressive tire makes a difference but that stuff was soup. The flat belly probably helped the most for getting it un stuck though.
I have had to hook 3 very capable 4x4s together to drag a 4 door Wrangler out of deep mud. There is usually a lot of resistance from cross members and axles being dragged through the mud. Seemed like besides the tire tracks the flat belly didn't hang up in the mud at all.
@@aaronb7990 wow. Intense. You might be right about the mud. They usually deflate tires a lot for slow off roading. Not sure it would matter for these tires or deep mud.
The beauty of the cybertruck is it has no paint on the sides so you can scrape the trees without any damage.
Props for going on a real off-road trail. 👍
Thanks for testing the Cybertruck. Learning as well from you. :)
Looking forward to see some good off road vids with the cybertruck.
Just to be clear, just about any SUV or truck that size would’ve got stuck in that foot deep wet mud. Anyone with four-wheel-drive would know not to drive straight through the middle of that mess and stick more to the outside where it’s a little dryer. What bothers me about this video is the titles very Clickbait like. Why not title it, I got my Cybertruck stuck in deep mud.
i actually disagree with you! some vehicles are going to be able to make it
@@alanmay7929all about the wheels
@@alanmay7929like which and why? There is nothing propitiatory in other vehicles unless they are modified for off-roading
@@alanmay7929 to travel in mud you should have mud tires🙂, all road tires are garbage in mud
@chakmiss basically any offroad model of wrangler, bronco, f150, silverado, tundra, canyon, 4runner could do that. I could go on but I think thats enough to get the message. The offroad versions get more aggressive tires and a locking diff which is really all you need. The cybertruck just lacks what the other serious offroaders come with stock.
more off-road Cybertruck videos, please
Think the outcome of this one is the reason you don’t see many. It’s just an expensive toy, as a truck it has little in the way of utility ( have a look at some of the towing tests, they are not great either).
lol it looks like my RC cybertruck bouncing around with those side shots
Beast #20
Don't feel bad, just about anything would've got stuck in that mud. Mud tires would do wonders on that thing!
I knew I needed some. Hopefully soon
Great video man, awesome truck. I can't wait for mine to get here.
Are you a real person, or a bot. The video was lame as can be, it was just a guy in a CyberTruck driving like an old lady on some weak dirt bike trails with a little water on them. It was so boring I almost fell asleep watching it. Then he says the CyberTruck got stuck on a bunny trail, ignoring that it was in a deep mud bog and that the Bronco got stuck too.
Not only would a CyberTruck get stuck in that mud bog, so would 80% of all the other jeeps and truck with 4WD. Only a jeep or truck with a 6 inch lift kit and some 50 inch mud tires could have got through that.
Nothing really surprising here. CT on A/Ts does decently well until it hits deep mud. Going in without proper recovery equipment seems like a bad idea but you did get out.
I also wonder about the Wh/mi going slow, seems like lack of wind resistance should net you some range as long as you're not spinning or deflated. I've found that to be the case when adventure motorcycling.
The tires are too small and it weighs too much. This is like taking a 1 ton diesel with factory tires mudding - you break through and have to drag it out. This is why ranchers and farmers use little utility vehicles when it gets muddy.
Sick!
Nice!
How did the A pillers hold up to branch lifting?
I heard others talk about the offroad mode switching, i was wondering if using a key card so that it stays 'on' may be a work around?
I also heard that other trucks have the same leaving offroad mode function and after a little research it has to do with gas milage reporting... you have to test in any mode that latches. Its why cars have 'sports mode' that turns off between drives, it you could set it and it stayed then mpg would have to reflect that mode being averaged into the mpg.
Cameras did fine but I did not go through anything crazy fast to fling lots of mud. Only really happened when I got stuck.
@@dblcapcrimpin I was referring more to the branches getting lifted by the A piller when going through the trees. It looked like it was doing a great job of lifting branches over the truck. I was curious if the branches left any marks or if it was totally impervious to the smal branches?
I plan to use mine for towing my Jeep to offroad trails many of which have overgrown vegetation. My current truck is all scratched up from driving through the brush.
finally an off road vid of cybertruck
Not much of one yet. Soon…
Cheers man. Appreciate the video info. What wh per mile are you getting going slow when on trails? Could vary a lot on different trails, but you have something on this?
I’ll record wh/mi in my next off road!
@@dblcapcrimpin thanks man.
You should bring along traction/recovery boards or a buddy that has them.
I bought some! Lessons were learned
lets not forget to install a winch too.
Any pinstripes from the branches on the panels or trim?
I checked and nothing I noticed.
Mud is the worst. Hidden by small vegetation, easy to sink and no traction. Then it is mucky unlike with snow. Good content. Hard to do really exciting youtube offroading without being willing to destroy your vehicle these days.
Yeah. I won’t destroy the CyberBeast but have a better off road video coming soonish.
Sometimes not even hidden by vegetation but just by itself. In my area there are mud pits that will swallow a Jeep on 37" tires that look just like the rest of the trail. You'll be driving along then all of a sudden your buried.
When did they start releasing cyber beast? I thought they were only doing foundation this year
Finally
Great video! Did you test the stainless steel against any branches?
You can hear them scraping down the sides. I didn’t see anything noticeable when cleaning but I also didn’t explicitly look for them.
The video was terrible, the guy drove on those trails like my grandma, then he drove right into a mud bog and got stuck, it was like it was his first time going off road and he had no clue what he was doing. He does a title that says CyberTruck stuck on bunny trail. While not saying a word about the Bronco getting stuck too. And nothing about the getting stuck being his fault, because he does not know what he is doing.
No jeep or truck would have got through that mud bog without a 6 inch lift kit and 50 inch mud tires. The CyberTruck basically had street tires on it, so he should not have even tried to go through that mud Bog. A real off roader would have known that, and not put a misleading title on a lame video trying to get views.
@@steves2241thanks for the continued engagement 😮💨
@@steves2241Bronco pulled Cybertruck out. No matter how many times you make the same excuse, Bronco performed better.
@@TroySavary Watch the video again, they both got stuck, dork.
Recreating "the porche 911 towing" test may get more attention at this point than any off-road experience without a diff locks and proper tires. This happens eventually, but while the Cyberbeast is rare, the owner has a chance.
I need a Porsche 911 😫
That muck was deep enough to challenge any vehicle, wasn't it?
Exactly, the guy says CyberTruck stuck on bunny trail. As if it was bad off road, and every other jeep or truck would not have got stuck in that foot deep mud bog. Even though the Bronco got stuck too, as 80% of all the other 4WD jeeps and trucks would have too.
You would need something with a lift kit and 50 inch mud tires to get through that mud bog. But this guy implies only a CyberTruck would have got stuck in it, and if it has mud like that it is hardly a bunny trail.
@@steves2241Bronco had to pull Cybertruck out though. Bronco managed to get out.
@@TroySavary the bronco didn’t drive in the same mud as the cyber truck. He drove around it in the more stable ground and pulled him out. Cybertruck guy literally put the truck in the deepest part of everything where pretty much any truck with four-wheel-drive. That size would get stuck. I didn’t see a video of the bronco driving through that same spot the cybertruck did.
@@TroySavary Bronco got stuck too, they had to get it unstuck first then got the CyberTruck out.
And yeah, that was some deep mud. Most non dedicated 4x4s would struggle there. Probably would take a 2door Jeep on 35 or 37 inch mud tires to get through that at those speeds.
with some modification .. can use wheel as winch
You need to put dedicated off road tires
Definitely do. Need a whole wheel set for off road only
😂😅😂😅. Those scratches from those "twigs ain't coming out. What a load of crap.
What scratches?
Get yourself some proper mud tires, good first run though, looked fun
Thanks! Working on a whole set before the next video.
Have they enabled front and rear lockers?
Cyberbeast doesn’t have rear locks since its dual motor in the rear. But the front is still software locked.
Seriously on street tires? “Didn’t realize how mucky it was” after driving forever through water.
Elon Be Like: 👁️👅👁️
Elon would laugh at this guy, if he ever saw this dumb video. The guy who made it is a clown that said CyberTruck stuck on bunny trail. When the Bronco got stuck too, because it was a foot deep mud bog that about 80% of all the other jeeps and trucks would have got stuck in too.
I had a Toyota FJ-40 Land Cruiser that would go almost anywhere, and it would have got stuck in that mud bog too. Because it was foot deep wet mud, and only a jeep or truck with a 6 inch lift kit and 50 inch mud tires would have got through.
What truck ?i don't see a truck
Trucks where I live have big lift kits and 4x4 stickers on them.
Not sure what that is .Maybe a space ship you tell me .
😢😢😢😢😢😢😮😮😮😮
I'd like to see someone put a lift kit and boggers on one of these things
It's just too heavy. Power doesn't matter if the tires can't support you
I definitely need some real off road tires.
I imagine after watching these they will fix that offroad mode going back to road mode.
They just did, kinda, with software 2024.2.3.
th-cam.com/video/D4cvpm0TVss/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
Two clicks now instead of 5… Definitely needs to be fixed though, it was very frustrating.
I had a Toyota FJ-40 land cruiser for 5 years and I took it off road hundreds of times, but I never heard of a bunny trail, what is a bunny trail.
I made it up because this trail is boring.
@@dblcapcrimpinlol
@@dblcapcrimpin And it is strange how you title the video CyberTruck stuck on a bunny trail. Like the CyberTruck is so bad off road it gets stuck on a bunny trail. When you drove into a mud bog with foot deep swamp mud, and the Ford Bronco also got stuck, but you do not put that in the title.
The mud bog you got stuck in would stop 80% of the 4WD trucks and jeeps on the market, unless it had a 6 inch lift kit and 50 inch specialty mud tires, like some BF Goodrich mud terrain tires. The title is misleading, and it makes the CyberTruck look bad, for no reason, and it also makes you look dumb, for doing it.
@@steves2241 I’m not sorry. “ Boring initial test video of Cybertruck Off-roading” is not going to get picked up by the algo… Title drives initial views and will change once algo catches it. The trails were very weak.
Thanks for the feedback.
@@dblcapcrimpin Good for you, then you are a clown and a fool.
getting back home, maybe have washed it off, you see any scratches in sides? I call those branches scraping up against my rigs Freddy Krueger.
😂 nice
Here in California we call them Siearra Pin Stripes.
I live in Cali as well, in the Sierra Nevada high elevation. You know what Im talking about though. while it's being done it sounds like Freddy Krueger is running his blades down your rig and you know when you hear that you are getting custom pin striping. LOL @@aaronb7990
I still haven’t noticed anything.
I would love to see this video but the resolution on my end isn't good enough to see what the heck is going on
That’s unfortunate, this video isn’t super exciting but It’s shot and uploaded in 4k.
Next off road will be better
👍🏽🎉👍🏽
Maybe the truck need to be another ton heavier. lol
Good point, that might help it sink to the hard pack and push through.
Something like Truck Claws with Extender Bars might have helped there. See the end of this video where they demonstrate the Extender Bars with some wood or timber th-cam.com/video/iMV_7-DMsTU/w-d-xo.html
Put some different tires on
Working on it. I was impatient
@@dblcapcrimpin I know you said it in the video and great job on the video 👍
No diff lock😮
The front diff lock is currently disabled by Tesla. No clue when they’ll unlock it.
worst thing about this is he does'nt even have offroad tyres on
You should see what the Beast does in my next off-road video with A/T too
@@dblcapcrimpin 👌
That was less than impressive.
Get some air out of these tire
Go faster in these trail its no fun otherwise

Why all the excuses? Slow, heavy, still no option on tires. Software is still not ready.
Excuses or Facts?
@@dblcapcrimpin The facts I'm most disturbed about seems Tesla is not making avaliable the tires owners need for their Cybertrucks. I am expecting when I finally get my Cybertruck, I'll have a full set of off road tires.
WFT.... you got to wrong tires for this nonsense.... lol
Of course I do.
Also I don’t believe they have the locking differential capability yet as they’ve started production before working that out yet. That would no doubt make a difference to some degree.
it doesnt need locking diff! subaru excells offroad wothout it!
Unfortunately the front differential lock is disassembled .
Disabled *
When a CT gets stuck in the mud, people think it's the truck not the tires. I thought we were smarter than that
It’s always the truck never the person, skill, or tires
Because without the truck, the tires would have made it through just fine.
lol!!!!! some vehicles will definetly make it no hate. the bronco raptor would have made it for example.
Features like a locking diff being disabled by Tesla.....but clearly that is the fault of the tires!!!
@@herrschaftg35literaly how can a manufacturer release a truck without diff lockers!? it was supposed to be the "best" offroad truck lol......
Lack of judgement, nothing else.
Interesting to see though, but hardly what a cybertruck is designed for.
Of course it needs the proper gear.
Owner understandably impatient, but this is pointless without proper tires and diff lock. Only feed Tesla haters.
They’ll be fine… New video with better gear soonish.
Diff locks I have no control over. Maybe Tesla should ship the software with the truck.
