Hello. I really appreciate the detail and taking your time and getting close ups of the food. Most other videos don't get close ups of the food and the names of the food. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this video! We’re traveling on this ship in June, and it’s hard to find exactly what all they serve for food. You gave a very comprehensive tour of everything! Even if it changes based on the day and location, this made me feel a lot better. :)
You’ll die when you see all the offerings. For me, it wasn’t even worth it to do specialty dining, but that’s just my own opinion. Have a wonderful cruise! 😊
Yes, thanks for the video and update. WOW! On this ship in Jan and FEB! Looking forward to it. Island Princess last month and the food was really bad :(
I was on the Discovery back in November on a Mexico voyage. They absolutely *knocked* included food out of the park. The buffet actually had chateaubriand available for dinner one evening. The MDR was completely on point too - UNLIKE Norwegian and Royal, who have cheaped out in the included food department. [Edit] Gigi’s was unbelievable. I had the veal ravioli twice. Great food video!!!
We booked the Discovery Princess to Alaska for next September. We’ve cruised a lot, but this will be our first time on Princess and to Alaska. I can’t wait! The food looks pretty good. Can you tell me how people (women) dressed in the evenings? Also, how many formal nights do they have and when are they? Thank you!
Awesome 👍 You will love it and the food was excellent. Not a lot of super formal wear but a lot of dresses and smart casual. There were two formal nights but I don't recall which nights they were and it could change from week to week or based on the itinerary. If you go back and watch our Alaska Discovery Princess vlogs I'm sure we mention which nights were formal.
4. World Fresh buffet 24/7, our go to places for breakfast, lunch, dinner. It was not always crowded. However, the foods were not the best. They had lots of boring Indian, Middle East, European foods which were not suited for most Americans. No one wanted over cooked, dry, tough roast beef. I was shocked to see they served roast chicken pieces. They did had a variety of sea foods; fish, shrimp, scallop, oysters, calamari, all of were OK. I ate the worst bacon in Sky Princess. They had no American style Bar-B-Q. I missed meat loaf, fried chicken. They served almost no Chinese foods (fried rice, chow mein, dim sum, Bar-B-Q spare ribs). Grade C 5. 3 Main restaurants - I had reservation at 5:30 so never had to wait. However, the foods were not special and portions were small. I didn't want to ask the server bring more foods. We went there only on 2 formal nights so we can dressed nice and had romantic dinners..Grade B.
I think that the food on the Discovery Princess looks a lot like the food on the Regal Princess that was really excellent. My only criticism of the food was that the steaks in the MDR just were not very good. I really like to have a good variety of Asian, Indian, and middle Eastern and Mediterranean food, which is the way that I like to eat. The food across the board is comparable to HAL and Celebrity. Just booked a 29 day cruise on Discovery Princess last year.
In, August they are going to start changing for what used to be complimentary dining options, hoping people will buy , the $60.00 or $80.00 a day pkgs per person, but if you don't drink liquor it's a waste of money!
FREE or COMPLIMENTARY is not an accurate description. Our fear with cruising is the trend in specialty restaurants and other addons that encourage the food paid for in the fare to be reduced in both quantity and quality. We have booked our first Princess cruise to Alaska and I hope to see the same food on our cruise that was shown in this video.
I hope you enjoy your cruise to Alaska on Princess. All the food shown in this video was included with our cruise fair. Hopefully their standards stays high and this is similar to what you experience.

The only time they offered apple juice was on the 1st & last cruise day morning, 7-day Mex Riviera
👍👍👍 💞

it's not free. It's food you've already paid for in your fare. Its included food.
