8" arcs with junk. NEED MMC, NEED NST, NEED $$$$$$ ???. otherwise It FORCES me to get creative and make more STUFF.

i made a 2 meter high tesla coil first also only with microwave caps and 3 mots but then 3 of the 7 microwave caps blew up and i replaced it with a "real" MMC bank no it works very well and if iI run it on 1/4 of the power I can get aup to 1 meter arcs I now have 6 MOTs with 4 in series and 2 as Ballast but I think I´ll improve it and go to 8 MOTs

That is a huge resonator coil! Going to need an MMC for sure. Going to probably need some mire primary turns as well.
Yep Except, notice my "MMC" is just some MOT CAPS and it tosses 8 inch arcs with primary on the inside. So miring primaries is actually a bad thing in the way of its output for two reasons. one, harmonic oscillations (most undesirables) and too SIMPLY in order to increase the output and maintain the same freq, higher capacitance and SHORTER primaries are nominal. ONE TURN is best. inside or out. inside means MORE POWER SCOTTY. sorry I had too. Sincerely Scott R.
It depends on your aim. If it is to create high output reaching out to, infinity with the harmonic resonance to your secondary coil, you need a balanced LC circuit. You can hit many orders of harmonics just like an instrument. None ring louder than the secondary natural harmonic. If you have no output with out grounding the top of the coil, you are not resonating the coil. Tuning a TC is not one size fits all, its case by case according to the secondary coil. You can go by the numbers in finding resonance in an LC circuit. If you calculate the frequency of your secobdary, you can derive its inductance. When you get thst you can calculate capacitence to match. I have yet to build a MOT tesla coil bit Terry Woodroof can probably give you some pointets. Usually the calculations are a great guide, but ultimately fine tuning comes into play.
Excellent. Yes I realize the harmonic nightmare that can and cannot occur. If I recall my ancient Pythagorean harmonic relationships the first one is the fundamental. the second one is a direct ratio 1/2 thus the center of a piano string (guitars 12th fret. half way) then the tertiary and qua ternaries are less robust due to there position on the string. 1/3 and 1/4 etc.
BUT here is what I did. I knew that mires of primary were what I needed to get a few small nanos or even a bucket full of beer wine bottles to activate these giant HOG BELLS like my antique "gigantor" (which had over 2500 feet of THHN #16 wrapped around a 55 gallon barrel.
. So with just a simple 3000 volts I started with 45 feet of 3/8 copper tubing for a primary, as I increased the primary cap bank up to about 140 nanof's (I would rate bottles at about 12000V average.?) the output increased proportionally (given top load) right until I ran out of primary. That is what prompted the internal primary concept which yep the calculator predicted and when I swung my cap sizes to those values Voila continued increase on the output.. from 6 feet (outside min) down to (3.5f Inside max)
ACTUALLY, I am just playing and realise a slayer driven or true VTTC is the stable (freq) oscillatting driver, yet I thought of attempting to YAGI beam some juice across the lawn EXCEPT.:::: 127 Khz equates to a full wavelength of about 5 miles or more so eeeks mebe I should stick to freqs I can handle like a stable PLL CB oscillator thru a linear with a front to back topload from hell and watch it fizzle.

Doesn't do shit only when it slapps out of tune does it really emit whacky purple streamers But NOTHING LIKE YOURS. Yours is in decent tune and to me MOTs for TC's are a pain in the ass. NST or line xfmr for me other wise I am limit to probably no more than 1 foot arch tops unless I voltage double it and get a new MMC then I can watch mama bear roar. fer nor I tink sheeza will send power a small distance without max power. Nice mot set up sir!!! I have a dual mot set up with a voltage doubler but i cant seem to figure out how to conect it to my tank capacitor & then to my tesla coil. I was wondering if maybe you could draw up a wiring diagram for me illustrating the connections from after the voltage multiplier? I suck at reading schematics so the simpler the better... thank u for your time...
eric cruz when i did my city and guilds in pannel wiring s coarse i passed topps and the marks i got for that wear for circuet plageriation of skymatics to get out side the box so i want to see if 56 years of knowledge can crack you problem as you probably work out i,m more than a bit autistik s but i still have my city and guilds somewhere so maybe i can add an ellement that no/one else has offered plus i,ve lost my note books and i dont have the whats trianglle and i,m stuffed without it on the capasitence and maths but remember autistic folk can make lots more loot than ordinery folk so i want to see your skymatic to see if i can help you and i,m not intrested in monney so respond please
