You will not earn MR points(unless they've changed something drastically) for re-using that item again. You will still need to rank it up, but it won't count for the points toward your rank and mastery tests.

you know how u get affinity towards your MR for ranking up weapons?... well when your item becomes unranked again from using forma, would you get even more affinity towards your MR again ?
It just adds the extra slot which should allow you to have a lower cost of more powerful mods, which overall should increase your weapon's ability, but no it does not make it more powerful in that sense.
@@jacdaniels4039 Yeah, it's why most of the bad weapons and stuff in the shop is MR fodder, you just craft and buy things to use to get more MR points and then get rid of them later to make room for what you really need. Easier to do at the start of the game when you can buy some of the crappier base weapons for credits and get easy MR points from them before you upgrade to better items and gear. You can also farm MR later in the game when you've got a good set of ranked up frames where you can just take 1 weapon into a mission and rank it up really fast.
Nope, they are completely separate. The catalyst will double your amount of available mod capactiy, while the forma will simply allow you to change or add a polarity to a mod slot.

he ment to say affinity not infinity, but i find that if you're trying to level a warframe, unequip all of your weapons accept one and do a survival mission (in a group is faster but not required). if you're trying to level a weapon, do the same thing and unequip all your stuff accept for the weapon your want to level.
Pretty much this right here. You can even set your matchmaking to public and pick any of the survival missions, you'll normally find a few people farming for affinity.
Depends on where you are in the game, if you are early on you probably don't need to worry about forma just yet and having the heat sword gives you more mastery rank fodder plus can be good on quick melee builds against factions like the Infested.

Magnus is nice weapon, nice crit and status chance. The Akmagnus' are what you want to build. Very fun, throw a couple of forma into it, with a status build, make them a viable weapon, tho you need the event mods. Element+status chance.

No, it just lowers your overall mod cost to equip which in theory would allow you to make a more powerful build since it opens up lower cost mod options. So if you have a prime mod that costs 12+ to equip, this would chop that in half with the proper polarity giving you more overall mod space to equip something else that maybe you couldn't have fit in your build before.

No, forma will allow you to exceed the standard mod capacity of 30/60 depending on whether or not you have put a catalyst/reactor into your Warframe or Weapons. It essentially reduces the cost of mods so that you can go over the cap.
It does not, you just have to level the weapon up to rank 30 again, which can be time consuming if you don't have boosters or good Dark Sector missions unlocked yet.
Anytime you use the forma it resets the frame's rank. So you have to use one, re-level to 30, use another, re-level to 30, and so on. You can't use multiple forma at one time.
So i just forma my Tigris and after that it let me keep 4 mods on ot and after i leveled up my tigris a few times it still says 1/60 mod capacity and im worried i wont be able to put the other mods that were taken off back on im thinking of just rebuilding it but what do i do?? When i get to rank 30 can i put them all back on?
It will say 60 all the time, but the forma reduces the cost of the mods as long as it has the matching symbol. So let's say you had 8 mods but wanted to level one up so your overall mod cost is like 64 so you can't put them all in. You forma a slot on your mod that costs 8 capacity, which then drops that mods overall cost down to 4, so you can fit them all in. Hope that makes sense. They should all fit when you get it back up to level 30, and of course you can always add more forma down the road.

If you are talking about mastery rank I do not believe it does. You have to use new weapons/frames to gain mastery rank. That's why many refer to bad weapons as mastery rank fodder.

Ashtonbruh Gaming you can use it on either. It will double your mod slot capacity either way. So if your frame is level 30 you will go up to 60 slots. If your frame is at level 8 you'll go up to 16 slots, etc.
Gamer it doubles the capacity regardless of what rank you are and if you use at 8 and double it to 16 that’s an extra 8 capacity. It then grows when you rank up beyond that so if you continue to rank up it’s giving you two slots for every one you would normally get. Whether you use it on an unranked or max rank it ends up being 60 slots at the end. Not sure if that explains what you were asking.
It can if you are using it on elemental mods, because the way you position them can determine what element combo(gas, radiation, etc.) that you get. So if you have some stronger mods you combo, you def want to pay attention to where their polarities line up.

You do not. You can only use an item once to gain affinity/mastery rank points, which is why there are so many items in the game.

When you rank the weapon/warframe back up from unranked after applying the mod, does it count towards your mastery rank?
It does not, you only get the mastery points for the first full level up. Once you reset that doesn't count.

The Catalyst is a permanent upgrade, it never goes away, unless you sell the weapon.

Not necessarily, it just depends on what mods you are putting into the weapon. Normally 3 or 4 Forma is good.

Whether you use it on an unranked or max rank it ends up being 60 slots at the end. Not sure if that explains what you were asking.
Does the placement of the polarity matter?
It can if you are using it on elemental mods, because the way you position them can determine what element combo(gas, radiation, etc.) that you get. So if you have some stronger mods you combo, you def want to pay attention to where their polarities line up.
